When I downloaded and installed Version 1.11 patch update, my dw9 game wasnt loading anymore. So I redownloaded and installed again without the update 1.11 and it run smoothly. Can someone fix this or is is because of my pc? PS: I also copied and pasted codex files to game directory when i installed ver 1.11 update.
Chinese voices doesn't work correctly for the current updated v1.31. I recommend downloading this for the crack files then find a none crack v1.31 and place the crack over it. It works for me and now Chinese voices works correctly. I noticed that some folders for DW9 (v1.31) on here took less space than the DW9 (v1.31) game folder that I've applied the crack over. There is a 0.4GB-0.5GB difference overall. I guess it's missing some files needed for Chinese voices to work correctly.

the game was getting another new update 1.13 patch by the developer, however, codex wont brothered the game anymore...i think the latest patch is been protected by denuvo

So, what did change between the 1.04 and the 1.07 version of the game? There is nothing new... The merchant doesn't sell dlc items and there are no new characters. Am I missing something?

Did this patch solves the fps issue like in play4? Even patgching the game I am not able to play the game correctly, it is slow motion. Reduced the graphics to... beliece or not 640. and I am able to almost make the game playable, still a little slow.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDOaICP5vpQ Best video I can find that can easily fix this problem apparently the codex and the downloads didn't came with the "steam config" and steam_api64.dll all you have to mainly do download from that video and drag and drop the those two into the dynasty warriors 9, but to be safe drop in the folder too with it for good measure hope this works for using the controller it works with my X-Box Controller now. :)
Paying no mind to the troll, but up to you the gamer if other methods are not working for the controller. I only adding other attempts that may work for fellow dynasty warrior players. If other methods on here do work that is awesome, but this one works for me and that is my free opinion. Hopefully Koei Tecmo get this all work out without this being so problematic in the first place. Anyway this is my last post here for controller issue on DW9, so if your butt hurt about believing your own methods work better than others please go ahead and hopefully it does work not I careless. :D
im not trolling, i seriously put the 2 files into the game folder, also into the "noDVD" folder, like in the video and it does not work, PS4 controller... using DS4Windows with this works though, you just cant reconfigure it, like you would in the steam overlay

sorry for labeling it officially broken, I just assumed it was. Given a lot of negative steam reviews and written articles. all the crashes and the poor performance, it was like what happened with that SAO game, it didn't have native controller support. er.. there was but i think it was poorly implemented that us the users had to rely on the steam controller emulation.

I7 2700k GTX 770 16GB Ram Win 10 Pro I play on FullHD, everything low (except reflections are turned off) Vsync 2 -> 30 fps.... No lag at all, no crashes, sometimes crash when i exit the game though, but thats not critical error
yeah he's kind of my hero lol. because of him now i'm able to play with most high settings real smooth with no crash at all :) i don't get it why such vsync really affect gameplay in this game
I'm not really familiar with AMD cards since I don't use them, but I looked it up and if I'm not mistaken, an R9 Fury Nitro is about equivalent to a 1050 ti or a 1070, between those two. If you're only getting 30 fps on lowest with that card, then nevermind me playing it lol. Eh, this game sucks apparently anyway, so it's no loss for me. Thanks for the info
i dont see where this discussion is leading. What does the steam overlay tell the game if i want to run forward? "W" you'd say, right? Wrong! because "W" is digital, its can be either pressed or not pressed! also, if you use WASD, you can only run into 8 different directions and always with the same speed. (without moving the camera that is) Using the steam controller configurator i can run in countless different directions, i can also run with different speed, like walk when im out of combat, that is called "analog"! So you see, its not just K/M like you said. I see what you're saying, its not wrong, but saying it translates into K/M commands IS wrong. by saying that, you can scare off people, because then some might think "what? there is no analog movement? not donwloading and not buying then" and that is why this discussion mainly started i guess.
what do you mean it doesn't have K/M support? you can play with K/M, so why no support? and if you really bought the game, you will have noticed, that in the controller configurator in steam you dont assighn controller buttons to K/M buttons, but you assighn them directly to ingame features, like "move character" "move camera" "call horse" etc.
From what I've heard and seen first hand, Koei tends to go overboard with their spec requirements. I currently have a computer the following specs: Third generation i5 processor 8gb ram GTX 660M 2gb I'm pretty sure I can play this game on at least medium. i have the same problem with you. it is said that the DLC items can be claimed at trader in big city by choosing DLC menu but mine's greyed out and for costume there's nothing new..

There are currently problems with this game, or this version of the game. Controllers don't seem to work really, and the PC controls are wacky and/or not understandable.
tbh not really the keyboard controls are pretty intuitive wasad moving space jump grapple shift attacks and chains left click -right click - special mouse wheel the only problem is with menus wich are page up dn and camera on the map screen also you gotta press J for advancing in conversations
True, but those buttons, LB and RB, aka PgUp and PgDn, are crucial for decent fights and such. So it's still really useless at this point unless you want boring gameplay with only 3 attacks.

This game is pretty much unplayable without a controller. Now, for me it isn't such a problem; I got DS4Windows for my PS4 controller. But others who do not own a controller, cannot play this game properly. Most of the buttons(/(with)actions) don't work, and if that isn't the problem, you still don't know what button is what key on PC. Is there a better version of this game here or somewhere else that DOES allow PROPER playability Without a controller? Thanks in advance(no matter what the replies are)

Well, when I wrote that comment, I hadn't actually tried it out yet with DS4. Now I have, and it doesn't work at all for me either, which is weird. Cause DS4 works with all games pretty much... Buuut, I could be because of the fact that the controller controls are locked in the game; you can't edit them. Not in-game at least. Sooo.... This makes my post even more important here. Cause now, the game is completely unplayable...
i did Overlays steam works by uncheck the "Run as Admin" from the DW9.exe the if someone can test and confirm if that works correctly for everyone :) (sorry for my bad english..)

I dont get it, why do you not use the right joistick as a joistick mouse just as me? in your setup the camera is not analogous, its trash because it just emulates the keyboard pushing a button, there is not way to move the camera with different speeds by moving the joistick more or less, its just move or not move, you get it?

Hello, i got a decent solution for a PS4 controller (for xbox read below), let me just say, that i just cant get analogous movement of the charakter working, but camera does atleast. Well, here's what you need to do.
Start the game and rebind the keys of the keyboard, do it as follows:
1 reset to default.
2 there are keys which you cant rebind, check those and set the ones that you can rebind the same as the ones which you can't (example scroll at the very bottom , the last key, the "exit menu / skip event" key is set to the key space, so set the rebindable key with the same icon, which is "menu" to space aswell, do it for all keys) 2 go to steam library, add a non-steam game, select dynasty warriors 9 3 connect your PS4 controller (cable or bluetooth) 4 steam settings > controller > general controller settings > toggle PS4 configuration support, make sure you see the controller in the list below. 5 in steam library rightclick on dynasty warriors 9 > edit steam controller configuration > export config > personal > local only > name whatever > save > close configuration
go to Steam\userdata\userid\241100\remote\controller_config\dynasty warriors 9, delete existing file, download the file from below, extract (password is PS4Conf) and paste into that folder > close folder 7 in steam library rightclick on dynasty warriors 9 > edit steam controller configuration > browse config > Select the configuration > apply config > close configuration
Go to the game installdir > rightclick on DW9.exe > Properties > Kompatiblity > Uncheck "Run as admin" (Thanks to Jean Denisse) and check "deactivate fullscreenoptimization" 9 Start the game through the steam library 10 Enjoy :) The process is probably the same for xbox controllers, i didnt try, try out if this works for you there aswell. Just a shame that i cant get analogous movement working, probably need to buy the game through steam, because then you can bind the joystick directly to movement as it seems, but hey, atleast you can play. hey man ill make a video to explain what i did. ye i did extract it. and drag it to the same place as the other one. i think i know the problem now. its just that the new file is never recognize in the big picture mode. (I thought it did but it never did actually) yes im sure its personal and check there. it never shows up after i extract it, i go on steam and it never shows up on personal. are you able to have all controls working btw? can u block etc?
Here is a bit better solution, still no analogous movement. NO NEED to rebind the keys, reset everything to default. Just start from step 2 but the map zooming fixed. You will have to switch between action sets with the click on the controllers touchpad, "action" for fight and "menu" for menu. I got everything to work. Copying the files does nothing. They cannot be copy and paste and it will not show up. I had to manually type each button, thankfully u provided me a screen so it was very helpful. Analog everything works The only thing doesnt work is theres no Shift. (You cant do stuff like Stun, etc) no call horse. and you can't block.
You did extract it first, did you? rightclick > Exctact all, password is in my first comment you are copying something wrong then, i tryed the files from SignumDragon (above) and it worked for me, i also tryed my own files on a different computer with a different account and it worked

Did you start the game through the steam library? not desktop! Make shure the steam overlay works (dunno how though, my works just by starting through steam library) Try launching from big picture mode (steam)
Overlay steam doesn't work for me too (with steam or bigpicture) , its weird because all my non steam games works with overlay but DW9....not working. EDIT : NEVERMIND I FIND IT !!! for get overlay works to Dynasty warriors 9 then uncheck "Run as Admin" on the DW9.exe ! Tested and launch the game from steam = That Works :)
as it seems it is, according to the games discussions on steam. But you know, if this continues and more games will be using steam controller emulator, then sooner or later someone will crack it and make the current steam emulator, like in this release, being able to emulate that controller setup aswell...

Try 720p low to med setting if it go very well they higher setting. The game free form igg-game so just download and try the game the game out to see if it works.

@Cecillio - Koei like always totally screw up this thing so You are not only one with this issue. Xbox One gamepad is complete dead too. I have XO version first so f*** PC version, jap devs dont have experience to develop games on PC (especially KT).
well I already get this issue with other Koei Tecmo games ,.. and most of time , put my controller as the second one was the solution (I uses SCpServer with a Ps3 controller) .. I m downloading the game at the moment, Ill come back to say you if my controller work with this little change

I found Kimical404 comment and found that Steamconfig.ini is missing. I tried finding it in the game and the update and nothing. I tried other updates. still fail.

To make the DLCs work you just have to change DLCUnlockAll=0 to DLCUnlockAll=1 ( you got to change in both files SteamConfig.ini and Steam_Emu.ini otherwise there will be conflict and crash )

ofcourse codex uses steam_emu.ini and steam_api64.dll

I play on FullHD, everything low (except reflections are turned off) Vsync 2 -> 30 fps.... No lag at all, no crashes, sometimes crash when i exit the game though, but thats not critical error

What does the steam overlay tell the game if i want to run forward? "W" you'd say, right?
Wrong! because "W" is digital, its can be either pressed or not pressed! also, if you use WASD, you can only run into 8 different directions and always with the same speed. (without moving the camera that is)
Using the steam controller configurator i can run in countless different directions, i can also run with different speed, like walk when im out of combat, that is called "analog"! So you see, its not just K/M like you said.
I see what you're saying, its not wrong, but saying it translates into K/M commands IS wrong. by saying that, you can scare off people, because then some might think "what? there is no analog movement? not donwloading and not buying then" and that is why this discussion mainly started i guess.
there are no K/M ouputs, so what you are saying is wrong
you can play with K/M, so why no support?
and if you really bought the game, you will have noticed, that in the controller configurator in steam you dont assighn controller buttons to K/M buttons, but you assighn them directly to ingame features, like "move character" "move camera" "call horse" etc.

I've put some Possibly Fix for the no overlay Problem
Cause, controllers don't work, and PC controls work Very partially, making the game pretty much unplayable at this moment.

But others who do not own a controller, cannot play this game properly. Most of the buttons(/(with)actions) don't work, and if that isn't the problem, you still don't know what button is what key on PC.

2 go to steam library, add a non-steam game, select dynasty warriors 9
3 connect your PS4 controller (cable or bluetooth)
4 steam settings > controller > general controller settings > toggle PS4 configuration support, make sure you see the controller in the list below.
5 in steam library rightclick on dynasty warriors 9 > edit steam controller configuration > export config > personal > local only > name whatever > save > close configuration
7 in steam library rightclick on dynasty warriors 9 > edit steam controller configuration > browse config > Select the configuration > apply config > close configuration
9 Start the game through the steam library
10 Enjoy :)
The process is probably the same for xbox controllers, i didnt try, try out if this works for you there aswell.
Just a shame that i cant get analogous movement working, probably need to buy the game through steam, because then you can bind the joystick directly to movement as it seems, but hey, atleast you can play. If someone of you but still gets it working right, let me and everyone know.
And here is another Tipp, the game has full mouse support this time which means you can also move the camera with the mouse, if this solution is not statisfactory for you, you can play with keyboard and mouse.

NO NEED to rebind the keys, reset everything to default. Just start from step 2
but the map zooming fixed. You will have to switch between action sets with the click on the controllers touchpad, "action" for fight and "menu" for menu.

Make shure the steam overlay works (dunno how though, my works just by starting through steam library)
Try launching from big picture mode (steam)
EDIT : NEVERMIND I FIND IT !!! for get overlay works to Dynasty warriors 9 then uncheck "Run as Admin" on the DW9.exe !
