1. Copy the provided textof user MSochist and place itin a textfile (notepad) and save thatfile.
2. Go to registry editor by pressing Win(windows key)+R and type "regedit"then press enter
3. Go tothe navigation bar onthe top and press "Files"then under that, click "export".
4. Navigate towherethattextfileisand select it.

5. Go backto regedit.
6. Navigate tothe Bohemia Interactive folder and Arma 2 folder (Computer>HKEY_Local_Machine>SOFTWARE>WOW6432Node>Bohemia Interactive Studio>Arma 2).
7. Click "Edit"onthe navigation bar and select "New".
8. Under "New", select "Expandable String Value". Once you click that, a new registry will appear that says "MAIN".
9. Right-click thatand press "Modify..."10. Go tothe location where you extracted the game and select everything fromthe bar (the one telling you the path ofthe game) andcopythat.
11. Place thatin"Value data"of"MAIN"
Okay, so that's done, download a patch which is located in patches-scolls website (or just search arma 2 patch).
12. Go backto regedit find "EnableLUA" located in"Computer>HKEY_Local_Machine>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Policies>System"13. Double click the"EnableLUA"and change "Value data"to014. Restart your computer
15. Lastly, go tothat patch you download (preferably 1.09), click itand VIOLA!!! You have successfully got Arma 2!
P.S., make sure you set"EnableLUA"to1 afterwards.
P.P.S, Make sure you back-up game files before patching in case you don't like the results (since you have to delete the game in order to downgrade).

For Operation Arrowhead, you will have to do the importation ofthe registry keys (or just download the keys somewhere) and"EnableLUA"in order to patch. You would have to Mount the CD's that come withthefile. This is done by right-clicking one the CD's and selecting "Mount" (this is necessary for patching Arma 2: OA). You might want to check and edit the reg key (if downloaded) for spelling error, if there is (which might be spelled AO, not OA).
End notes: This took me a heck-long timeto figure out andme getting upset.

andit took meabout1-2 moths to do this with much failures. Don't give-up, keep trying. I will be deleting this account (Google), so don't expect a reply fromme.
Alright, I figured out how to fix the bad serial error thanks to a comment by KnowingEyes. Just create a file called xxx.reg in your game folder, right click on it, select Edit, then put this in the file: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2] "KEY"=hex:86,0f,39,40,26,aa,1d,e6,51,ea,8d,2f,5c,e8,c8 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2] "KEY"=hex:86,0f,39,40,26,aa,1d,e6,51,ea,8d,2f,5c,e8,c8 After that, open the file and it should work. But even though it works, the game's graphics/textures didn't load properly for me so it seems all this was for nothing, for me. Anyway, hope this helps you all!
If you are downloading this to play dayz mod. Dont Bother! I wasted over 2 days trying to find files that just arent there due to dayz mod becoming a standalone game and most files needed need to be updated and i wasnt able to find any cracked VERSIONS! Only if you actually paid for all 3 games would you be able to get it working. "Combined Operations" is a standalone Arma 2 here at IGG that incorporates the base game of Arma 2 and the expansion. If you're a Arma 2 junkie, there's yet another expansion here on IGG, "Operation Arrowhead" that is also standalone. In other words, there's an out if you want the base game. Granted it's much larger but... at least it's there. Of note: I haven't tested - and I can't see the tutorial vid but if it's using the free install on Steam model, it's been "discontinued". I'm yanking this game but the other two work fine.
Please help i want this game on steam is there product key for this? I have oa and i want to have mods working but i dont think if crack version and orig oa would work together
Ehhhh.... this won't make it official on Steam. It's a cracked copy. If by some miracle you can get Steam to recognize this, that's actually bad - as you don't want your account to be screwed because of cracked games. :(

Yes. Ad . fly was his revenue generator a long time ago. Instead of fixing every link, he only fixes things when they are brought to his attention. Sometimes, it takes awhile... a long while.
See above means my solution above - not his. Download the reg fix, double click and install and play. I made it from a fix I found online. I just gutted the contents and took out all the items that had to do with the expansion. Then I tested it on 2 boxes. Then I hosted the fix so that others could play. The funny thing is both other expansions are here as standalones. One is this game (the base) plus an expansion - but people type in Arma 2 and look a bit, this is what they will get - unless they know of the expansion names. The solution is there... just scroll up and look at my most recent comment. Thanks for being nice about it. =)
