If you haven't downloaded this yet, but thinking about it; you are certainly wasting your time thinking about it. This game is amazing, everything about the game is just amazing; even the art style, it is so much better in the game- and the music; just as good as Hotline Miami 1 and 2; in my opinion that is. But- I think you (Whoever is reading this) should download and give it a 30 minute try. Because this game is well worth buying.

It says "narrative experience"... So I assume the gameplay is very limited, right? Also I'm reading the "game" can be completed in 3 or 4 hours...
I prefer old-school point and click games in which we interacted with objects and stuff...
It reminds me of Read Only Memories =>

Lovely graphics and music, but you just click and click and read a story...
There's nothing to do whatsoever...

to clarify things, you do smple things such as preparing drinks to procure info from people ( and the drink you make, mixed with the emotion you tap into on them, will change the story)
you also create implants ( that pottery wheel looking thing im sure you saw ) that is basica, but what these parts entail is a HEAVY moral dilemma involving what implants you give to ppl, why, and the recourse of effects for your choices.
drinks work the same way, and dialogue is NEVER REPEATED. so you need to make it count.
on top of that, yes very very much story - but it is so damn well made - you want to keep playing, to see what is going on, and to persue your choices in the narrative.
each playthrough can be wildly different, based on your actions.
they even test your "detective" skills after a drink / questioning session, by quizzing you on what you think you learned about the person.
and the game is CONSTANTLY making you question your own morality as each choice you were SURE was the "right" one, is immediatley proven to not be so black and white.
mix in some Bladerunner, and VA-11 HALL1-A - and you got yourself a sleeper hit in the making.

I'm glad you mentioned Blade Runner, as I love both the movie and the PC game released in 1997. 😍👍(on my first ever PC... good old times)
Maybe I'll try this later.

comparing it to bladerunner is very accurate, to put the narrative based gameplay at ease for you, I ended up playing it for over 2 hours without realizing it - they kept throwing new things to do, new characters, new ideas, and it just never stops.
it expands, and you want to find out the story. and you're free to choose what you wish to look at, who to throw under the bus, so to speak - i tried the beginning again and chose different things, and got an entirely different "day 1 end" story branch.
it's rare to see such a game giving you so much freedom in how the story expands, i really gotta hand it to them.
this is nothign liek VA-11 HALL1-A when it comes to that regard.
i only mention that bc of the cyberpunk aesthetics, and of course, the drink mixing it features heavily.
but where as VA-11 HALL 1-A holds your hand in story based choices.. this game leaves you 100% in the dark- it;s up to you to figure out what's going on , and how you arrive at those conclusions is where the real meat and potatoes come in.

lol you seem pretty excited about it.
I admit, games in which the player's decisions do influence the storyline are quite rare, so it'll be interesting to try it.

I'm the girl that skips all cutscenes in games, and never play Visual Novels.
The fact I can recommend a game liek this is a testament to it's superb writing ^^b

i almost shit myself when the character tapped into the droid's memeory banks to find out what happened to her, i thought of the Observer, and then bladerunner. it's done so fucking well!
