God these games were ugly compared to the glorious 2D ones from the 90s...
I tried but gave up on them cos I wanted to throw up... lol
I really hope that Monkey Island will make a come-back someday, in good old 2D like the third one, or maybe some mix between 2D and 3D like the latest Broken Sword...

it will never be the same the more we see newer better things we look back and see nothing but crappy quality games except for the ones that were worth it. have you ever enjoyed a game allot and say how realistic it is and how good it is, then 5 years later you look back at it and think wtf was i talking about.

Yeah.
Then again, I think that on the other hand, 2D ages very well. Or, doesn't even age, actually.
I'm ok with a few low-poly 3D games, like the first Half-Life, for example. (I might prefer Black Mesa though)
But overall, yeah I sure have trouble playing early 2000s 3D games especially.
You remind me of a girl I'm following on Youtube.
She's playing Thief 2 with HD textures and she said she didn't realize how horrible the original textures looked compared to the new ones.
Thanks god for modders!

IMO Half Life 2 is the one game that has aged SO well, the game is FOURTEEN years old, and imo it still looks great, it was one of the first pc games or any game at all that was actually in High Definition, it blew my mind the first time I played it at a friends house who had a HD monitor and gaming PC.

Yeah I have "Half-Life 2 - Update" and it looks even better!
Have you ever tried it?
It's not a drastic change like the Cinematic mod, but shadows and lights and stuff look quite better =>
