For people having issues with an error "Steam not detected, will not not run Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak with out steam", the issue is interference from Win 10 antivirus.
First make sure to deactivate real time protection for win 10 antivirus.
Add the crack for both the win32 and win64 versions,
Then add an exclusion (by selecting the folder where the game is installed) for win10 antivirus so it doesn't interfere with the launch
Yow I just downloaded the game and manage to install the game, its running but I cant tweak the settings and the start button in campaign doesn't work even the skirmish, can someone help me. Thanks!
Hey, thanks for this! I love Homeworld a lot, couldn't play it when this one was released due to a bad computer but now I can. The game works great so far. Few notes: The game has some crack files, make sure your antivirus does not take any of those, or it won't run, so remember to turn it off for a bit. There's for 64 and for 32 versions in both the game files and the crack files. Once the game is installed, it NEEDS to "run as administrator" in order to both play it properly and change options. I know I'm kinda late for any of the previous comments, but this may help anyone who wants to play it in the future.
I got the download to work just fine but, when came down to running the game exe, the game would run but instantly HDoK would say "Steam not detected, will not not run Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak with out steam" or something similar and then shuts the game down. Not even the crack sent with the downloaded file can fix the issue, plus no instructions on how to correctly crack the main game file was given.
Happened to me,too.i turned off Anti-Virus-Prog,installed Game and copied Crack again and it worked(i did put an exception in the anti-vir-exception-list,after that,too.and turned on Anti-Vir).I hope it works for you
Same here. The menu loads in, and you can look through the options, but you can't start the game, on campagne, skirmish. You can turn down the volume of the music but you can't accept the changes. So it dosen't work at ALL. Too bad been looking forward to play the game.
