MASTER PUT THE MOP IN MY FANNY - (get this reference?😄) Ok, decided to give it a try. Cos the concept is so unique, I had to...lol It's as bad as I thought it would be though. It's a case of "joke game gone too far", in my opinion. Yes, it's veeery funny to grab butchered teenagers bodies and put them into a woodchipper to dispose them, and listen to the heartwarming sound of their bones being crushed. After a few minutes, everything feels like a chore, not necessarily because of the cleaning itself, but because of the way everything is designed. It is not a simulator in any way, of course, but everything will require some time, and LOTS of back and forth, at least in my experience. Mop around. Grab unidentified body parts and throw them away. Use the woodchipper for comic relief. Mop again and wash mop in bucket. Repeat. The whole experience feels a bit tedious to me, like... like how mopping in real life would feel anyway. (besides the woodchipper part 😅) So if this was the developers intent, then they succeeded.😆👍 Well, I guess that the fact that the game is unintentionally funny makes it more acceptable. I admit, I laughed a bit sometimes because of the comical situation. I mean, you feel like you're in some sort of FPS, but after everybody left the gore party already. You're just on your own cleaning the mess they did! This game shows what happens once you actually exit your games. lol Well, bloody FPS and horror games, at least. Funny, original, and unique concept, but boring execution. MOPPING IN HD - WHAT A GREAT TIME TO BE ALIVE - I played ONLY the new DLC, which is the "House of Horror" one... As I expected, it sure looks great, and I sure would have preferred to play such a level in a true horror or FPS game, or even an adventure one... It reminds me a bit of a this failed zombie experiment called "Contagion". http://store.steampowered.com/app/238430/Contagion/ It always had huge potential, but eventually it's been abandoned, not sure why... Oh by the way, the screenshots show different locations, so I assumed there were a few different levels, but nope, the DLC is just one level with several zones to explore. (Unless I'm wrong, the little house in the backyard is the cabin from Evil Dead, right?😍) I have to say that unlike a few people who complained that this new DLC was too resource-intensive, it played perfectly on my aging computer. (8gb ram, old crossfire radeon 5700...) It felt very well optimized, with almost no loading time, bugs or anything. Well, this game has been updated since years though, so that's to be expected. Btw, just a little detail, but not EVERY guy had to wear a letterman jacket. lol Or every girl a cheerleader outfit... I love these, but come on... You'll appreciate the countless references to 80s horror movies all over the place. I didn't, cos it reminded me AGAIN what this game was not. That is, a true horror game, with some monsters or crazies lurking in the shadows... It's frustrating to see developers who clearly have lots of talent, and do a game about... Cleaning blood stains...😩 This neighborhood look so nice and the atmosphere is perfect for horror games! (I do love some good old 80s horror movies though, like the first Nightmare on Elm Street movies.😎)
HAVE A BUCKET OF SH** - I have a HUGE problem with the way we have to use the water to clean our mop... Did I miss something, or we do have to carry water buckets around all the time? And when a bucket is empty, we can't fill it up again? We actually have to "generate" a new bucket again? Wait, isn't this weird and stupid? Yeah I just looked it up on Steam and I see I'm not the only one who complains about this... Best comment on Steam about this: "there REALLY does need to be a way to refill them. I can take a waste bin, hold it inside the incinerator, flip it over & dump it out, and then pull the bin itself back out and reuse it. Meaning I can use the same waste bin for the entire mission. Yet with buckets I have to incinerate 100+ of the poor things before the mission is finished, simply because there is no mop area with a drain & faucet. IRL no proper sanitation area would be without one." And I have to say, entering the house, to find that NONE of the faucets were working, whether in the kitchen or the bathroom, make me realize how badly designed this game is. This problem only is enough for me to not be able to enjoy this "game". I'm not going to describe the way everything else works, but... BORED AFTER 10 MINUTES - (endured two hours though) Not sure what else to say. I played only one area, but I guess it's enough to get a glimpse of the full game... lol (and anyway, I feel like the horror house was the only area that interested me) Very simple and repetitive, and oh! Did I mention ZERO replayability? I mean, think about it, why would you want to clean again the same area, especially when you consider that the gameplay has no variation at all? I've been waiting for Left 4 Dead 3 since almost a decade, and for now all I get is Mop 4 Dead 1. Well if you'll excuse me, I'll just mop around my tears. lol Oh I almost forgot...
