anyone know if mods work on this version??? as im seeing without mods, this is horrible and personally, ive got a quest 2 that (i never play) and have 2 hours of time in it just mirroring beat saber to my tv just bc... (did get it cheap) and like new condition, but im really aiming to find a game i can get lost in. considering how much i enjoy fallout games/the worlds. I just need to know if mods work. before i waste all my time downloading, and setting this up. to install a list of mods to make it work proper only for those to break or cause the game to become unplayable.
Game is alright, but lack of control on occulus rift S, also the movement is quite hard, since you must have your controller well aligned to the direction you move, or else you will move and strafe at the same time wich kinda break my balls
Linked update makes the game crash. It also doesn't exist apparently. Update 1.2.66.0 was the last patch for FO4 VR and was put out on april 27th so it's likely to be the last. Please add a working patch, preferably 1.2.66.0 Base game is rather unstable.
When i choose New Game my game will sit at a loading screen then the green loading symbol will disappear, and it will never load. I feel it is because i haven't updated but it is because i dont know how.
No audio french, menu french ok instruction French ok, but audio and English i changed in ali231 #language Language = french And in fallout 4 [General] sLanguage=fr
A bit ago I saw a comment on here with a patch you could put on the original Fallout 4 to make it run in VR so you didn't have to redownload this. Does anyone have a copy of it?
For all those lost like i was, the update patch is at the bottom of the post i never even saw before today there were other clickable links entirely different from the ones above it, gg game runs great now with the latest update and has full touch support
its an old version thats why, i dont know why it says updated to version 1.2.7 this is barely one of the first versions ever released even before the oculus touch patch. You need to also download the update and patch your game yourself to correct all those errors, update is located at the bottom of the post
Google is down, http://Mega.co.nz can only download like two before you have to wait for five hours, and all the others are either A) So slow that i started part 1 on uploaded a few days ago and it still hasn't downloaded, or B) require some paid bull-crap to work. Edit 1: and don't tell me my internet is slow, its a rogers/cogoeco unlimited play and its hooked up via Ethernet Edit 2: And my computer is perfectly fine, its custom tuned to play and download games.
how to install update? game not launching for me. i downloaded the torrent link then copy pasted the update files, was that the right thing to do? i also copy pasted my save games from my documents/ my games/ fallout 4 into my documents/ my games/ fallout 4 vr. should i try deleting them and launching again? or reinstall game? do i need to run it once before updating? cheers, any advice would be great. also, using wmr hmd and fx8350, gtx 1060, 15gb ram etc. all other vr games ive tried run fine even maxed (asynchronous reprojection on...) although hands etc look a little low framerat with a r on and maxed settings. still perfectly playable though. have never been the slightest bit sick playing any of these games yet either, including dirt rally and pavlov with smooth locomotion. and i get carsick when in the back seat so i am pleasantly surprised :) also, beer and vr seem to be mixing perfectly too, lol. guess thats why microsoft calls these headsets mixed reality... the best things from both worlds mixed, lol. anyway, happy vr everybody!
yea just copy paste but if u have open vr emulator installed you need to change steam back to beta in properties. so go to steam and go to properties -----> BETAS ----> opt info select NONE- opt out of all beta programs and it should start.
Does anyone know how to apply the 1.2.72 update? Do I just copy the contents to the Fallout 4 installation folder? Theres a german and english folder each containing a ALI213.ini and Fallout4.ini, do I copy both or just english? Theres also a crack only.rar included, do I need to extract that? Detailed assistance would be much appreciated!!
to update your game you need to launch F4.VR_M2_UPD5.exe then select where you want to extract the update. When the extraction is finish you have to copy every files that were exctracted and past them to your fallout 4 folder, it should ask you if you want to replace existing files, hit yes.
I'm playing fallout 4,Gorn and skyrim VR on a "laptop" and skyrim is maxed out and supersampeling to max and games are runing smooth. Graphic card: GTX 1070. so i would say nope pirated versions of VR games are same as original. You can try to boost your performance with razor game booster ( But if your GPU is on 90%+ you aint going to get much but worth a try.
Okay, after a bit of tweaking and SS lowering I'm able to play the game lag-free. Thanks again for the help, I was worried I wouldn't be able to play correctly at all with my 1060 ;D
I already did the TAA disable trick and it didn’t do that much about the framerate but I’ll try lowering the supersampling as much as I can. Thanks for the reply!
I'm getting low FPS and stutter in the game (I have a HTC Vive). I have a 1060 and an i7 so my rig isn't the problem, but I just don't know how I can get better FPS and no stutter, can someone help ? Thanks
Asynchronous and always on re-projection were already enabled, but turning off interleaved reprojection actually helped, and thanks to Lou's advice on supersampling I actually managed to fix the lag problem, but thanks for the reply anyways :D
My game crashes at the very start of character creation... anyone else experiencing similar shit? Im using an oculus and tried it both in and out of steam VR beta
Good News!! I download the original save here and load it in document Fallout VR save file, Everything work fines AGAIN!! The only thing is that you cannot change gender and appearance, but no one care self appearance in VR :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVIpbNqEke0
I made the .exe file compatible with Windows 7 then ran the file ad administrator...the weirdly allowed me to get pass the Character Creation section and into the game. Hope this helps you too.
I wasn't talking from a subjective point of view. The vive is inferior to the rift in every objective aspect but room scale size. No opinion can change that.
Sorry but that is your opinion, and its also wrong. Theres reason for the Vive being the most popular headset among PC developers and PC gamers despite it being the most expensive device. I doubt you've used a Vive extensively; though I am sure you're going to tell me you have.
Okay this is pretty simple. Rift has a higher pixel density. Rift has a smaller screen-door effect Rift has Asynchronous SpaceWarp Oculus has a store that isn't filled with asset flips. Rift has controllers that aren't sticks. Touch has analog sticks. The rift package is far more customizable than the Vive one. Rift has sensors with more accurate tracking capabilities (but with shorter range, yes) Rift has support for 4 sensors. Rift has access to both the steam and oculus store. Rift has all this and still considerably cheaper than the Vive. These are not subjective reasons. The only viable reason to purchase a Vive instead of a rift is that you have really big glasses that you can't take off or don't have enough USB ports for 4 sensors and too lazy to install another hub.
Not subjective, just half made up. "Rift has a higher pixel density" -Barely noticeable and it has more to do with distortion from the fresnel lenses than the actual screen itself. Vive lenses are slightly more convex and software unwraps the display image diferently to the Rift. Resulting in less reflective artifacts which id take over pixel density you cant even see. Vive wins. "Rift has a smaller screen-door effect"
Same as above. Barely noticeable at all, Advantages of Vives brighter, more vibrant image display and better lenses trumps a difference that you cant even see. Vive wins. "Rift has Asynchronous SpaceWarp "
Vive has Async Reprojection, Interleaved Reprojection and will have a similar Reprojection method to Async spacewarp pretty soon. Vive wins x3 "Oculus has a store that isn't filled with asset flips."
Steam has more content + Vive can play Rift "exclusives" via Revive. Vive users can use Oculus Store, though many opt into just using Steam, despite this assumed problem with asset flips you mentioned ..hmm. Draw, I guess. "Rift has controllers that aren't sticks."
Rift also has controllers made for people with small hands that came a year late. Wands feel better in VR when holding virtual objects. (both opinions but so is your implication that Rift controllers are better than Vive wands for VR). "Touch has analog sticks."
Cool, so does my controller that I use for playing games not designed for VR. But if I wanted to the Vive can use 3rd party controllers with sticks and I can use the wands to track other body parts! Vive wins the stick war. "The rift package is far more customizable than the Vive one."
/rolleyes ...grasping there. "Rift has sensors with more accurate tracking capabilities (but with shorter range, yes)."
Absolutely false. You need three to four sensors depending on your play area to even match Vives short range tracking let alone its 15x15ft tracking. Its common knowledge that Vive tracking is better than Rift. Vive wins this easily. "Rift has support for 4 sensors."
Vive supports tracking of up to 128 different sources (per lighthouse) and supports as many lighthouse (sensors) as your budget and PCs processing power can handle. Tracking 2.0 (software update) which is just around the corner can track 33x33 foot play-space with just 4 sensors... Vive destroys Rift here and its not even close. "Rift has access to both the steam and oculus store."
As do Vive owners... But lets go back to your comment about asset flips on Steam store. You're going to use it as some kind of positive when it benefits your platitudinous argument? Draw. "Rift has all this and still considerably cheaper than the Vive." It has all those misconceptions/platitudes and also:
Requires you to run a cable from each USB slot that a camera is connected to on your PC to each tracking tower while the Vive does not as it alleviates this problem by using trackers that communicate with each-other and the headset wirelessly, and manages it with less latency than the Rift trackers over USB.
Rift has has a much shorter stock cable to the headset for you to more easily trip over.
Rift has less reliable tracking despite you claiming otherwise. This is well known everywhere.
Rift has a slightly lower FOV to the Vive.
Rift is less modular than the Vive.
Rift doesnt have a front facing camera like the Vive.
The IPD adjustment method on Vive is better and actually has a noticeable effect.
Rift has a wider gap in the nose that spoils immersion ("bu bu but it helps me see my keyboard!") while Vives is so small you dont notice it.
Vive has a brighter image which looks a lot more natural. The Rift is cheaper for a reason. And with that , it looks like im done here, have a nice Christmas.
Hey, does any of you know how to have an other audio language ? Changing the languages in the fils changes the languages in the menu but the voices stay english :/
ok i figured it out. its the fallout4.ini from eu to de. but idont know if the languagepack is inclueded, i paste the german pack from the old fallout 4 (normal version), deleted the englich one and changed the name to get it to work.
Good News!! I download the original save here and load it in document Fallout VR save file, Everything work fines AGAIN!! The only thing is that you cannot change gender and appearance, but no one care self appearance in VR :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVIpbNqEke0
technically vive only, oculus and bethesda arnt friends so not much chance of real support but it does work to some degree, not sure what issues youll encounter though
sure you can play it normal, just get normal fallout 4 it came out ages ago, theres no new content in ths version, in fact it has less since the dlc aint in the vr versiion
they arnt exactly amazing on vive ether, dont know how any times ive shot something i wanted to pickup or wandered in the wrong directon at the wrong speed it takes some getting used to and i cant see how touch could be much worse after an hour or so getting used to it
apparently it works but not flawlessly, the whole legal dispute between oculus and bethesda s hindering your compatablity support, only real hope you have is 3rd party fixes, probly worth a try and if you encounter any issue google for a fix
