You need to have DirectPlay on , i dont remember where it is , search for it on youtube (it allows you to play games that run on older versions of DX) im not sure it were that , but i think yes (if not im sorry but idk )

DirectX 10+ are not compatible with DirectX 9-. You have to install DX8/9 separately even if you have DX10 or higher.
