"It gives me an error message with a code" = This is mostly likely because the steam_api.dll has been removed from the folder by your antivirus. To fix this, PLEASE turn off your antivirus everytime you launch the game to make sure it doesn't remove the dll file. "It says I need to download directx." = The directx download for the game was available on its setup, you may need to install the game again. "It doesn't launch" = This is because you haven't taken the crack and the files required from the .iso file from the directory and put them where the .exe file for the game is located. When you open the .iso file, go to the PROPHET folder and drag them into the Dark Souls directory. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE, IT DOESN'T WORK! ONLY DRAG AND DROP. it doesnt launch for me, so wut i understood from u is that i take wuts inside PROPHET and put it where the .exe is, there is only [prophet.nfo and steam_api.ini], draged them to the .exe folder and ran it, didnt work. Did you place the files in the "Prophet" folder? It should be with the files inside the .ISO file when you unpack the .RAR file you downloaded. It works great for me, not good frames on my laptop tho.
if for any reason someone else wants to install the item randomizer and enemy randomizer mods on this edition of dark souls (prepare to die), the mods will refuse to work for some reason, save yourself the hassle i've tried every weird method on the internet.
you gotta pirate the game from another website called game3rb, which comes with online support, like it requires steam to be open on launch and it shows as youre playing spacewar, thats probably why the mods work smoothly, enjoy!
Is the steam_api.dll file really not malicious since I uploaded the file on virus total and there were to many things indicating that it is a trojan? Can anyone clarify if it is really safe to download?
As someone who has been using igg-games for years on multiple computers, I can guarantee you it is 100% safe. Windows often false flags these files, but they are completely fine to use on your computer.
Are you sure? Not to overthink but when I checked the file on virustotal it flagged it as a trojan, and virustotal is what people usually use to ensure if the file is a false positive or not. Is it really 100% safe?
Don't want to disturb but the files that are on this website are given to the owner by community, and of course some might have viruses, I'm not sure, but I think the moderators verify the files before publishing to website so it should be safe most of the time.
I can't even download it, it's like stuck, the only working link is megaup, and when it's downloading it's just stuck and not going, even though the speed parameter is like 2.3mb/s, know any website that work ? After the intro cutscene, I can't see anything. It's just black. I could see the my equipment and some tooltips but I the screen itself was just black. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Still playing this with my 7 year old Intel N2940 Ivybridge not to mention the integrated graphics (damn Intel HD Graphics) and can still handle it like hell and can reach 54 fps with the help of dsfix and Hialgo Boost of course. Yep desperation at its finest.
sigh.. Why is my luck so bad with games? Tried the remastered version.Lags as hell.Tried prepare to die edition,now it crashes at pc settings because of refresh rate.Only way to fix it is using a different laptop or monitor with 60hz refresh rate and make a new save and then use my pc again.Seriously?Just wanted to play a game.
Mods will help with that and mouse fix but I totally agree that its much better to play dark souls on a console since its controls were designed for it.

Hello. This is the first time I encounter an issue while downloading a game from your website. When you extract the content in the .rar file theres a folder named "PROPHET" which has steam_api.dll, all you need to do is copy all the content from that folder and paste it where the game is located, i.e., C:\Program Files (x86)\BANDAI NAMCO Games\DARK SOULS - Prepare To Die Edition\DATA
the megaup version doesnt seem to download when i press it everything else downloads on my internet but with megaup it stays at 0.0mb no matter how long

Hey dude, what you need to do is get DAEMON TOOLS pro,it's really easy just youtube a video about ( daemon tools pro crack) and you'll get the tools. After installing the tools click in the cd and it will mount to your virtual cd drive. Remember to uninstall dark sould first though. There's no "Serial key" Input anywhere... I just installed the game and it didn't have a "Crack" folder but the game started normally, so I assume that the crack auto-installed itself. Please either clarify or update the steps. Thanks!
