now !! when you download the game it works but no mouse/keyboard when you download and install the updates steam problem appear which says : error "license failure"
I have some Problems with the game itself. For some reason its really laggy. I barely get 30 fps, even tho I have a 2080 super graphics card and a ryzen 7 5800x prozessor. Does somebody have the same Problem or could someone help me with this?

Is the file size less than 5 MB? Did you get the file directly, or have you used an exe? If the answer to any of the questions is yes, you downloaded an ad. Please try downloading the files again and make sure you get the correct ones.
I consider myself a frequent user of this site and I could make pretty much every game run and play. Until I tried this one. This game is worthless garbage, don't waste your time downloading it. It kept crashing at certain points in the game, like during a cutscene, after killing certain enemies or after trying to summon a ghost. I thought at first it was because I missed the four updates (what a noob). But they didn't fix the crashing. After updating graphic card drivers and VC redistributables I found out the game was crashing even in places where it was fine before! After that I decided to write this long rant and delete every last trace of that trash from my PC. -1/10

Weird, it worked just fine for me thus far, just got to the second region. some slowdowns here and there but no hard crashes. And my PC is a dual core meaning i have to inject a special file just to get it to run

He is not completely wrong. I can play the game at 60 FPS, but it has frame drops from time to time. And I can run pretty much any recent game at 1080p 60FPS at max settings without any recent frame drops. Nioh looks like a 4-5 old game in comparison.

How do you update? Nobody has answered me. I've tried moving the update files into the game folder and installing. I've tried it out of the game folder. The codex application just fails on all updates. I tried installing the game with the update folders already in it, still no updates.

This is kinda misleading. Yes, Nioh started development in 2004, but in a completely unrecognisable form than it is now. It started life as an RPG, but all that work was scrapped in 2008. Then they started on another version, which was also scrapped. Work on Nioh as we know it today only started in 2010, not 2004. And even then, it was only the most basic of ideas that were nailed down. It wasn't until 2012, when Team Ninja took over dev full time that the combat systems and mechanics that are in the game now started being built - a whole year after Dark Souls, and a whole three years after Demon's Souls. So, to claim it's not influenced by Souls and that Nioh was the progenitor is silly and, well, wrong. It's clearly unfluenced by Souls, like it or not. Besides, Team Ninja have said they were influenced by Dark Souls. Several times. It's no big secret.

Hi guys ! downloaded everything (game/updates) and i can launch the game but it says "unable to open system save file. The file may have been deleted" so I checked in C:/Documents/Koeitecmo and i have a Nioh file with savedata... Then i can start to edit settings and then it says "Failed to write to system save file Error code 20" If anyone got a workaround...

For those who have a lower spec PC, don't get frustrated by the 3G graphics card minimum requirement, just turn off the shadow and ambient concussion options. Downloaded the game but when I open the codex folder and copy the contents into the game folder (in the game folder theres only a the game and uninstall game files) it still takes me to the steam page. Did I do something wrong
Yeah, you have to copy the contents in the place where the game's executable is found. Right click the game's shortcut and click "Open file directory", and paste the contents in there.

Hey guys, so I recently just downloaded NIOH from you guys, love the game btw. However there is no option to change the resolution which means I have to play in either windowed or borderless to get decent graphic quality, whenever I choose the "full screen" option the graphic quality looks like crap. There any plan to do something about that? I love NIOH and I will play it borderless for now but I can't resize the window either so it's pretty inconvenient.
I had the same surprise and the solution is simple - don't run the game from the shortcut created after installation, use the launcher from the game's directory :) There you can even change graphic settings before launching the game :> Hope this helps.

i have some problem. i cracked the game but when i try to launch it an error appear 0x000007b. i had the same problem with another game but i resolved with the winpkg (aio-runtimes) but now it doesn't resolve the problem because after launch it opens a popup that confirm all ddl files are upgraded. Any suggestions?
I was wondering if there is any way to play online? I tried altering the offline status to online through the steam_emu and it's not allowing me to make any changes due to not having permission to access those files. I would appreciate any help from anyone please and thank you!
As with any cracked game, online play is not normally supported. If you want to play online, the best and easiest way to do so is to purchase the game. That said, some games have ways to play online even if they're cracked and I believe Nioh is one of them, but I've been reading some people having issues getting it to work properly and seems to only work half of the time. Make sure you're logged into an admin account when editing the game's steam_emu.ini file, double check that file's permissions (make sure it's not set to read only when making the edits), then try again. There's no reason the file would give you any sort of permission-related error if you're using an admin account... Also, as basic practice, be sure to either add an exception for the Nioh folder to your AV software or disable it temporarily just to prevent it causing any issues with the crack or the crack's files.
I knew there was some method to do it but I never had much interest in actually trying it out or reading into what it actually is. Thanks for clearing that up!
Thanks for the advice and I will also be looking out for problems. I'm having issues with the special permissions, it seems that I'm not able to change the permissions but everything else. In short I can't figure it out and it's bothering me that I cant play online smh.
I have little interest in this game (asides from the fact I can't even run it because my computer's crap :D ) so I can't really do any testing on my own. The best advice I could give you is to try searching around Google and see if you can get it working, I'm not even 100% sure if the crack provided with this game currently supports online play at all or not since they usually don't allow it. Still, this seems to use steam emu so...maybe? If you do get it working, please leave a comment here to let others know. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, though.
I get a nioh.exe has stopped working error at lauch. Drivers are up to date, directx installed, update installed, cracks copied from codex directory, lauched as admin... Any idea ?

dude, come on, you dont have to redownload if the game doesnt work, you are downloading a file in parts, if none of them are corrupted then the file and all its content is good to go... lf installing or launching fails its another totally different issue. lm assuming you have the minimum requeriments or at least a quad core cpu and 8gb RAM, so, as far as my experience goes that could be an issue related to process and memory, what you can try to do is run task manager, go to process and click on the sqare that says "show all process", once task manager restarts all processes are shown, look for the ones that are using too much memory and/or cpu % and close them (dont worry if your pc crashes just restart it) this part is mostly try and error so you have to be patient. once you have the less % of RAM used by windows processes try to launch the game.
Okay, i've given it a shot and no process takes more than 60MB of RAM (except Firefox at 700MB which I can easily end) and more than 01% of the CPU... I'm running on windows 7 btw
First of all try to uninstall the game and update the graphic card's drivers (I think that's it, but I might be wrong). Then install it again and try. And try to launch the game from the game's directory, using Nioh Launcher - not the shortcut created after installation, it's not working properly. And do you have the 64- or 32-bit version of your system?

uhmm it has to be a process that is creating conflict when you run the game then... try to shut the most RAM consuming processes in task manager until you get to 30% of RAM or less, if that doesnt work then lm out of ideas... Some times the process Super Fetch (the "window" Windows manager) can also cause trouble to me when l close the game and run it right afterwards so l just close it and my cpu stop throttling.

Dont loose hope you will find the solution, when Nier launched l got the blue screen of death(yeah not actually the white, you can look it up it was a really common issue with Nier Automata) every time l run it. It is NOT a good port! At most I would tell Nioh is an average port, not as bad as what TK usually do. -No mouse support (we are on pc! Even Dark Soul 1 has it!) -No proper graphical options, just the bare minimum. And if I want to be picky: 60fps only... (yes I have a 144Hz G-Sync screen)
lm not really sure if this works when online as l dont play Steam games online but maybe this works , open the file "steam_emu" and where it says change id=0 instead of 0 change it to 1 and where it says User Name: CODEX put yours.

Why would I know what the crap that is. I don't use that on every pc game so obviously I wouldn't. Besides this game sucks and is nothing more than a Dark Souls wannabe. I can't stand overly hard games. I just want to enjoy a game not have it stress me out the entire time. I died already hundreds of times and I'm sure most of you will lie and claim you're great at the game and haven't died once. I know some ppl like challenges but I don't enjoy dying hundreds of times in a game. My character feels severely underpowered and the level up system doesn't even seem to be working too well in this game.

ahem....reshade and clarity are more like mods that change the contrast, color or lighting of the game. I'm not too sure myself as i dont use them often but I'm sure youve seen images of people revamping Skyrim with graphical mods...it's basically that. And also side note, I wouldnt call this a DS wannabe. Yes heavily inspired but theyve added their own twist to the mechanic of the game and...to be fair, has a deeper combat system than DS. It's pretty unique under the same genre. Also uh...it's not exactly hard, it just has a steep learning curve (although the tutorial was pretty great) and a lot of trial and error playthrough. Personally im enjoying this waaaaay over Dark Souls. I do respect your opinion but just want to put this out there for people claiming it's a DS clone....it's like saying Saints Row is a GTA clone.
This is a bad port not because it runs poorly because I'm on a gtx 1070 so of course it runs great on my rig. It's poor port because it doesn't support my resolution of 1920x1200p. Is there anyway to change that because the game looks muddy looking at 1920x1080p on my samsung monitor. I have an older monitor from 2008 and when ever I play games at lower resolution the color contrast is screwed up for some reason and I'm a bit pissed off that they completely ignored people who have 1200p monitors. I know we are in the minority but so are people with 4k monitors and they support that resolution.
The real reason the game sucks is that game has no Mouse or Keyboard support, if you try to change your bindings it locks you from doing anything at all and then you have to completely restart the game to even use it again... The graphics are amazing and i love it, i can play it on max settings with less than recommended graphics cards n stuff. The controls for layout 1 is WASD – Movement UHN – Camera J – Quick attack I – Strong attack K – Evade/Dash L – Interact Back space – Open Gesture Menu Arrow Keys – Use shortcut B – Lock-on Shift – Guard Esc – Open Status Menu Ctrl – Toggle aim mode Alt – Switch item shortcuts Alt+Enter – Shoot ranged weapon Space – Ki Pulse There are no plans as of yet to give any Keyboard + Mouse support so either wait till there ARE plans or use a PC Controller... or do what i do and struggle though it like you would with DS1 but with even shittier controls.
Go to http://Reshade.me, download the newest version, run it, find the game you want to change, it will ask if you want to download presets(clarity is 1 of them), click yes, launch the game, press Shift+F2 to open the UI in game, go threw the tutorial, once done find and enable Clarity filter.
Go to the install folder and run the launcher. Also to get the settings to stay go to my documents and create a folder named Tecmo Koei and inside a folder named NIOH

Inside that iso data which you extracted from all the 9 parts there is a crack folder named codex. Just mount the iso with daemon tools, run the program to open up the codex install screen, CHECK THE BOX WHICH SAYS TO INSTALL CODEX, install the game and you are done

It's not really a good idea to be sarcastic or rude to people that are just trying to help. It's also not a good idea to be sarcastic or rude when asking for said help in the first place, that will only result in rude replies as has been the case. The crack has to be manually added to the game's directory after installing the game itself and you should be able to find it within the .iso file inside a folder named CODEX. Make sure that you place the files in the correct place and replace any files it asks you to replace. Even if you checked the box during the install process, do it manually anyway to be safe. If the game still sends you to the Steam page after doing this, there's something you're doing wrong or something is acting up with your PC (i.e. antivirus software flagging the crack as a virus and deleting files without notifying you). Nobody else seems to be having this issue and the game opening the Steam page only happens when it has been incorrectly cracked.
Hmmm... Extracting and installing doesn't mean you "cracked" the game" you have to Copy/paste the crack And as Ashuraman said If a game brings you to the steam page... It means 100% that you didn't Copy/paste the crack.
It's more than obvious that that is the issue. Hell this is a CODEX release so there's not even a need to manually copy the files, the installer has an option to do that for you automatically

I did, currently on the third mission. Im used to playing emulator, so keyboard only game is no big deal for me. Only bows and gun is actually problematic. Would love to have mouse and keyboard tho.
You can't use the mouse for the Camera Using a keyboard is a "meeeehhhhh....." A gamepad Will save you :d Anyway there is a tutorial to get a working mouse
as i Said, you can See some Easy tutorial to play Keyboard + mouse (they're not hard) About that PS1 controller: if you have the USB adapter it should work
Same issue. Where are the launcher settings even supposed to be saved? Can someone upload the file? edit: apparently I had to create the folders My Documents\KoeiTecmo\NIOH\ manually. Launcher configs are saved now but I'm still stuck on a black screen when starting the game.

The game starts me in window mode by default by the way. As for the log, if the game doesn't actually crash would a log still be created? Some logs doesn't require a Crash to be created. Not so much different from my Specs. Windows 10 Fall creators. (with Game mode) I5 3350P 8GB ram ddr3 P8 h61 mx r2.0 Asus GTX 1060 3gb Anyway they're Recommended settings "i think" are a bit corrects ... I'm sure because of the Bad port (optimization) i can't get full 60 FPS (dark souls 3 has better graphics and i get 60 FPS maxed settings)....

I think I found a solution. Let's see if this works for you. Enable a lot of compatibility features to increase the startup time then start the injector and then nioh. Actually worked the first time now that I tried that. Gonna make a screenshot of the exact settings.

Same(except for the Black screen)..Using the Custom preset worked (for me) As Setting type Use Custom and select the other settings(resolution,shadows ecc)
Like i said no settings that i change actually save. Once i click ok, the settings go back to their default state EDIT:I figured out the issue regarding the setting son the launcher not saving. However even on the lowest of lowest setting the game is still just a black screen for me
is not that hard... and this game have a lot more of surviving possibilities. Try to time your attacks correctly and you can survive any boss without getting hit, and for crouds use double Katanas or the Kusarigama

Yes, both in Dark Souls and Bloodborne there are special spots where you can summon AI companions or even players to help you. Nioh has a co op mode bu no AI companions except those ones in certain story missions
I get a black screen after the Koei Tecmo intro screen. Any fixes? Edit: Found the issue. Recently updated to Windows 10 1079 and had to install the Media Feature Pack for it again. also, using the consumable item that doubles your power while making you take double damage is somethjing that can make the game easy for bosses. overhanding the axe does massive damage with this, and don't nkow if they patched it or not, but low stance the dual katanas was pretty op too for this since they're fast
Most weapons got massive nerfs as did the Omnyo Magic. When the game first came out it was all about the slowdown spell and go to town on bosses. Not anymore
Uh, yes they are you fucking scrub. If you do no armor, the game is stupidly easy because of how fast you can dodge. The bosses just have retarded attacks that don't even register right half the time. I playedit on PS4 and you could just dance around the bosses with no armor

Maybe it depends on the distance from the server to us. For me, Mega has only average speed, about 20mb/s, google has the best speed, over 100mb/s, MegaUp & Upera 100mb/s, Owndrives/Tusfile 6080mb/s...

Update: Found it, open the Nioh Launcher in the game folder to adjust screen resolution.
Work on Nioh as we know it today only started in 2010, not 2004. And even then, it was only the most basic of ideas that were nailed down. It wasn't until 2012, when Team Ninja took over dev full time that the combat systems and mechanics that are in the game now started being built - a whole year after Dark Souls, and a whole three years after Demon's Souls. So, to claim it's not influenced by Souls and that Nioh was the progenitor is silly and, well, wrong. It's clearly unfluenced by Souls, like it or not.
Besides, Team Ninja have said they were influenced by Dark Souls. Several times. It's no big secret.

I downloaded 40gb's unpacked installed and turned out to be a CD Installer which i started to install and in the end i installed another 40gb's

That said, some games have ways to play online even if they're cracked and I believe Nioh is one of them, but I've been reading some people having issues getting it to work properly and seems to only work half of the time. Make sure you're logged into an admin account when editing the game's steam_emu.ini file, double check that file's permissions (make sure it's not set to read only when making the edits), then try again. There's no reason the file would give you any sort of permission-related error if you're using an admin account...
Also, as basic practice, be sure to either add an exception for the Nioh folder to your AV software or disable it temporarily just to prevent it causing any issues with the crack or the crack's files.
I'm having issues with the special permissions, it seems that I'm not able to change the permissions but everything else. In short I can't figure it out and it's bothering me that I cant play online smh.
If you do get it working, please leave a comment here to let others know. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, though.

PS : I do have a quad core cpu with 8GB ram, not the minimum required but very very close and still stronger than a PS4 ^^
lm assuming you have the minimum requeriments or at least a quad core cpu and 8gb RAM, so, as far as my experience goes that could be an issue related to process and memory,
what you can try to do is run task manager, go to process and click on the sqare that says "show all process", once task manager restarts all processes are shown, look for the ones that are using too much memory and/or cpu % and close them (dont worry if your pc crashes just restart it) this part is mostly try and error so you have to be patient. once you have the less % of RAM used by windows processes try to launch the game.

-No mouse support (we are on pc! Even Dark Soul 1 has it!)
-No proper graphical options, just the bare minimum.

There are no plans as of yet to give any Keyboard + Mouse support so either wait till there ARE plans or use a PC Controller... or do what i do and struggle though it like you would with DS1 but with even shittier controls.
The crack has to be manually added to the game's directory after installing the game itself and you should be able to find it within the .iso file inside a folder named CODEX. Make sure that you place the files in the correct place and replace any files it asks you to replace. Even if you checked the box during the install process, do it manually anyway to be safe.
If the game still sends you to the Steam page after doing this, there's something you're doing wrong or something is acting up with your PC (i.e. antivirus software flagging the crack as a virus and deleting files without notifying you). Nobody else seems to be having this issue and the game opening the Steam page only happens when it has been incorrectly cracked.
And as Ashuraman said If a game brings you to the steam page... It means 100% that you didn't Copy/paste the crack.
Only thing that worked for me. Please upvote so anyone can see it.
edit: Might not work the first time. Only seems to work ever so often. Maybe the injection is too slow?
