For those of you who download this, if you want to maximize the graphics you will have to do a bit of editing. Turn off retro vertices, adjust clipping to max and turn on all the effects. As well there are some downloads through YouTube like extra ships, music, and tracks. Those all go in the userdata folder. Lastly, this uses the latest unity engine which crashes on exit. It is a known issue, you will have to ctrl-alt-del for now to exit the game.
What do you mean, "maximize the graphics"? You mean, to make them look like the old 90s wipeout? Yeah I remember the clipping was quite terrible back then. I might turn clipping to the max level for nostalgic purposes. XD Thanks for the tip about Youtube! I thought we had to go through Steam necessarily to get mods for this game! I didn't know it used Unity though. I'm surprised cos I didn't know it was possible to make a 90s-looking game with this engine. I assumed they coded in good old C++ their own engine or something. XD
By maximizing I mean modernizing. :P LOL. The game comes standard looking like a psx game, So if that's what you are looking for then just leave the graphics setting alone. Yes youtube has some user content that was released prior to the game going to pay to play and it still works. I have downloaded a few things off of youtube myself like a classics pack.
BTW the new beta branch of this on Steam is....SAWEEEEET! They are finishing up the game and getting ready for 1.0. The workshop is completely full of downloads. Ships, music, tracks, addons galore.
The game is even more polished now with better graphics, tracks, and menus. The beta branch blows this version away....and they finally fixed the exit issue!
Not to be ungrateful....but 1.0 drops in 1 week. This has been released for a long time. If you are planning to do 1.0 this was kind of a wasted release...but I guess it will give people an idea of what to expect...

There's much more content, the graphics have been drastically improved (and yet manage to preserve a mid-90s style, incredibly), lots of music has been added, and plenty of new options to configure your racing experience your favorite way. Just check the link, it would be way too long to list the changes here. It feels almost like a new game since the last time I played it, and it's better in every way possible. I repeat what I already said : best wipeout "clone" ever, and in my opinion, it's actually better than ANY Wipeout game ever made. (well, it's an unfair comparison, since they're spending years updating this game anyway.)
