i had the game installed on steam years ago and couldnt make a necro so ive stopped playing, today i downlaoded that and i still have dlc missing, i unistalled my steam grim dawn and now i cant launch the cracked one anymore without steam asking me to download the game. UPDATE: after deleting my steam game i went in the propriety of the game on steam diseable steam cloud, deleted the cracked folder game, and re-did the codex setup to download the game, and i mark both this on the download option , now it work )

The title says v1.1.9.0. The main game folder says v1.1.9.0. But then the update says 1.1.8.1? Now the game itself says 0.3.0 (not updated). hope someone can clarify in what to do.

Download all the parts for 1.8.0 extract them all in one folder. then for the update 1.8.1 do the same what you did for 1.8.0 (Extract them all in one folder)
I'm sorry but it probably wont happen. After certain amount of updates they just upload a whole game with the new version. It doesn't happen that often and it's not that big of a deal.
I have no issue with 1.1.8.0 GOG. It even uses the same save folder as CODEX, so once you install, there is no need to setup anything at all, just continue playing. Thans IGG games for regularly providing updates for this game <3
Could we just get the 1.1.8.0 patch steam version? IGG has always been the steam version of Grim Dawn, now it's GOG 64 bit doesn't work on this new GOG version. Black screen.
Is anyone able to use GD Item Assistant with this? An add-on inventory manager is pretty essential for this game, but I can't get GD IA to transfer anything. The GD IA instructions tell you to turn off cloud saving for Grim Dawn in Steam itself as well as copy files from steam folders, neither of which can be done with this version. Wondering if that's the hang-up.
It was requested but still not approved. Still, its a small patch that fixes few minor issues. Chances are, the issues wont even affect most players, so it's ok to continue your playtrough even without it.

My bad, I have not played GD for a long time, It actually saves automatically, Everytime you pick up something, Open a rift, Or finish a quest. You should find the saves in here %SystemDrive%\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Steam\CODEX\219990\remote

hi lorenz, i have download 2 files.. part 1 is about 4.9 Gb, part 2 is about 2.2 Gb, when i extract one of them my extractor says::: Archive is not readable. would you like to try a password.. and it repeats this question again. If i have put in a wrong password there are no files extracted on the new folder.. what is happening.. is it a bad file?
Is the file size less than 5 MB? Did you get the file directly, or have you used an exe? If the answer to any of the questions is yes, you downloaded an ad. Please try downloading the files again and make sure you get the correct ones.

hi, have a problem with the language. I tried few things who didnt work, i want to play with french subtitles. When i go to the options i can download the patch fr, but cant apply it, cant chose it ( lock it ), the game stays in english. The .rar file "community french" still appears in "localization". So now i'm starting to patch dlc 1 by 1 to have the v1.1.3.0 and will try with every version to play in french. Hope you can help me if this doesnt work. Edit : its doesnt work. I really dont know how to change play in french... I'm on the version 1.1.3.0... I tried to change the language on the "steam_api" but doesnt work too. Someone can help me ? x)
I can't seem to find my save location in either "This PC/ Documents/ My Games/ Grim Dawn" or in "This PC/ New Volume (D:)/ Games/ Grim Dawn Forgotten Gods" in the first one I only see "settings" and 2 "log" "html file" and "xml doc" in the second one I see a file named "save" but nothing is inside. Please help, where can I see my saved characters.
i dont know what to do anymore. i wanted to play it with a friend, yet i keep got problems until i found now the error. the game dont detect my Upnp and i dont know why. its activated, yet the game keep says Upnp not available. how can i fix that?
Depends on which updates you have already installed. The updates get installed in order. For example, if you have installed update v1.1.2.0, then you would install v1.1.2.2, and then v1.1.3.0. If you have no updates installed, then you would install them all in order. Hope this helped. Have a great day.

I havent found a way to use characters I created in Ashes of Malmouth, BUT, the shared storage and all stuff in it is visible in Forgotten Gods, if you copy all the saved files to CODEX folder in app data (the save location for this release).
Thank you SO MUCH for this. The only thing is, after turning it off, my 2 chars I created in Forgotten Gods vanished, but turning the Cloud Saving on again, made them appear again. So in essence, I cant have all the chars at once, but alternating between turning ON/OFF Cloud Saving makes them appear/disappear. Good enough for me.
I can't install the 1.1.1.1 or 1.1.1.2 update. The base game works nicely, but I want to update it because I can't find a fitting version of the GrimInternals mod. I have tried it myself and couldn't get it to work. I have also read it doesnt work for other people. It just says "version mismatch: Grim Dawn.exe has wrong filesize!". I am curious how you get it to work, what Grim version do you use and which version of Grim Internals.

Excuse me, when i try to install the updates .1 and .2 both tell me the codex.nfo may be damaged or uncompatible, and i tried to open the "update" folder and run the setup and it tells me windows doesnt have access to the file. Any solution? Thanks!
Same here. For some reason like 1 out of 5 of their updates works. Rest of the time something fucks up and you have to redownload and reinstall the whole fucking game

I have the steam version of the base game. I have uninstalled it and turned off cloud sync and it still installs through steam and keeps my old save file. I do not have the DLC's if i install it and launch the game. Turning off steam does not help. I have blocked Grim Dawn.exe in windows firewall. How do I fix this and stop it from going to steam for my files? is there a way?
download all... the main game update 1.1.1.1 and update 1.1.1.2. whn install goes wht the order dont skip the update too. dont forget to apply crack after update.
Risking a scold, there are a few things you might try before being sure it was deleted, you may even find older saves by this:
The game requires administrator privileges to access files, even if this almost never happens, it might help to check if the game haven't asked for them by some reason.
the game has two save locations, . a. If the option "cloud saving" at general options menu is not checked it will be at "C:\Users\username\Documents\my games\Grim Dawn\save\main" being "username" your computer login username. . b. If it's checked than the save will be at appdata, to reach there press win+r and write "%appdata%" at the dialog box that will open without the quotes. It will open a folder named "roaming" go to "roaming\steam\codex\219990" and check the two folders there, If there's anything inside any of these folders (a and b options) you will probably find a folder named after each character that it holds (a character named "Sorin" will have a folder named "_Sorin" with the underline. The folders are usually inside a "main" folder.
Look the instalation folder, if you installed at "program files (x86)" it can't run properly (i heard), install at "C:\Games\Grim Dawn Forgotten Gods" or other folder outside "program files" ones, also, the x64 client isn't sent to desktop after install, go to install folder and go to "X64" folder, make a shortcut from the "Grim Dawn.exe" in there to run by X64.

What is up with the part 2 Links? I've downloaded from Google Drive twice and MegaUp Once and all three times the archive can't be opened by winrar and it gets a weird error on 7zip. EDIT: Nevermind. Apparently when I extracted the part 1 before the part 2 somehow 7zip knew there was a part 2 and extracted it along with.

Open properties of the game's shortcut. In the target field add /d3d9. Here is an exemple : "C:\Games\Grim Dawn Forgotten Gods\Grim Dawn.exe" /d3d9 This should resolve the issue (I had the same ^^)
Then it will be in 1 of the other folders in there.. All i can recommend to find it is to quickly load up the game run around for a sec then exit.. Then look in the folders for the file that was used last then you should know what folder is grim dawns :)
If you are new, and want to play the game, download the torrent from PCGameTorrents (IGG Torrent's games); https://pcgamestorrents.com/grim-dawn-forgotten-gods-codex.html It is the complete version (v 1.1.1.0), complete with old updates, all DLCs and the new expansion (Forgotten Gods) Upvote so that everyone can see... Patch 1.1.0.0 was released a few days ago, which adds a huge feature via advanced loot filtering. I would greatly appreciate if we could get that patch as soon as possible. Forgotten Gods expansion is going to drop likely March 27th as well, so will be keeping a keen eye here for that. Thank you guys for all that you do!
Game installed and played just fine. Update 1.0.5.1 installs just fine. But with 1.0.6.0 it gets stuck partially through, and when you hit cancel it just uninstalls the game completely.

Hey, i'm having a issue with patch v1.0.6.0. It says Fonts.arc hash sum mismatch. At the end the installer says it was designed for the v.1.0.5.1 of the game which is the one i'm using and it's working fine. I really don't wanna download the entire game again because my internet is shit. Any thoughts?

Yep that solves the problem, at least for me because the crash was caused by d3d11 not being supported by my graphic card...(yes its so old it doesn't stand OpenGL 3.0...)
Don't work. Clear 1.0.5 without updates works after reboot, but when I install all updates and open game it minimizes and when i maximize it, I have black screen.

Check if you have enabled or disabled the thick check on "Cloud Save games". It does it anytime you update. CHange the option and restart the game ot find it again, It is not deleted.
I seem to be having quite a problem with the v1.06 update. When I try to get it working, the codex launcher never stops downloading. It says like 2gb needed, but it downloaded like 10gb and kept downloading. Am I missing something?
Is multiplayer working in this version? in Codex 1.0.4.1 did not work. I opened ports on the Firewall and the router and could not use the multiplayer, even on the local network.
If you haven't already figured it out, most (talking about 90% here) cracked games simply don't work online because they're cracked. They can't connect to the servers, only very few games have multiplayer cracks and even then the only ones I can think of are the Paradox strategy games (CK2, EU4, HOI4) and I'm pretty sure those can only be played in multiplayer with other people who also have the cracked version
This is not true, I know many cracked games that work online and mainly in Local Area Network. The multiplayer of this game is not working because this function seems to have been blocked intensionally. I believe this is due to being a Steam version and user settings would be necessary. In some forums you see comments some players who could play online in version 1.0.3.2 of Codex, with a different crack. When you try to play online, and you try to connect to the server of another player the game tries to connect and after some time presents connection error, probably occurs by the lack of information of the user's Steam, what could be forged do not you think?
90% of the time cracked games won't be able to connect to the official servers. There are way to play it online with programs such as Tunngle, however Tunngle no longer works as far I know. I used to play the cracked version of DBZ Xenoverse online with Tunngle.
It is true, most cracked games don't work online, only a few. About the multiplayer being blocked intentionally, maybe it's for a reason? I don't really play cracked games online so I wouldn't know. Have you tried asking in the Contact Me section?
im very sure that igg's previous version is the GoG one. because i remember we only have to download the patch and not the whole game, no need for crack.
Yeah I just deleted my install folder and kept my saves in mydocuments and steam folder in appdata and everything works as intended. No saves are missing or not working and all my settings were still the same.

download all the game files and extract first one and install the game .... done... then download all the updates and extract all the updates one by one and from the oldest to the latest download everything one by one ... that is how updates work
Download all the file under the version indicated then extract and move the file into the folder of your game. Choose to move and replace file that are in conflict.
I had the same problem, and I have the possible solution, they should go to the installation path of the game "C: \ Games \ Grim Dawn" and look for these files "Direct3D11.pdb / Direct3D11.dll" and delete them. PS: sorry for my bad english
holy s**t it worked! thanks a lot! i encountered new issues tho, the game apparently looks different on startup for me and when talking to an npc, the screen turns lighter. Maybe deleting this file removed some of the heavy load for it to startup edit: oh... the game is automatically set to one of the 3 color blindness options and i had to set it to normal, then this means there are no cons of deleting the file, great!
I downloaded the GOG version and it had the same problem with a black screen. How I fixed it was I install the regular GOG version 1.0.1.1 with crucible, then update to GOG expansion 1.0.2 then updated it to 1.0.2 GOG standalone. The game will be expansion but will still be only version 1.0.1.1 GOG update first. You can play with old characters but new ones are bugged. They are stuck unable to move. Then I updated the GOG expansion + 1.0.1.1 to 1.0.2.0 GOG update. I still haven't tested it fully but it seems to work for the first 10 mins of testing it. Characters are no longer stuck. You need both original GOG 1.0.1.1 version on this site and the new GOG expansion version 1.0.2 with the standalone 1.0.2 that was just released so it is a lot of required storage space not install space. The install space stays the same. Not sure what fixed it but at least it works for now. Maybe someone can help figure out why you need to install on top of GOG 1.0.1.I have not tested it other way so it can maybe work with installing the 1.0.2 on top of 1.0.1.1 and then the expansion on top of 1.0.2 which seems more logical. Someone else can try it. I also used CCleaner to clear my cache and registry of anything related to Grim Dawn before reinstalling the original GOG 1.0.1.1 version. I do that all the time I uninstall a program so I am not sure if that actually helped out or not.
This version works perfectly, followed the exact same steps to install as I have for every other game and worked fine. Thanks heaps for this upload, own the base game and crucible already but couldn't afford the 17.99 right now. Anyone having problems install daemon tools lite and mount IGG-Grim.Dawn.Ashes.of.Malmouth.iso and then choose to run setup.exe After this just make sure to check the box to automatically copy contents of Codex folder and click install. It can then be launched and played without any more steps.
This version will easier, bro. You dont need install any DLC then. Only click on .exe and install it :D (check the box to automatically copy contents of Codex folder)
i don't understand why it's not working for me. i own crucible dls and the main game on steam and for some reason when i went through and downloaded, unzipped and followed a few things as closely to the guides as possible, what ended up happening was that when i launch the game, it connects me to steam and then opens up as if it was my steam version, i also run the dail mod on my main game. i tried uninstalling grim dawn on steam and then pressed the grim dawn ashes of malmouth on my desktop and it took me to steam asking if i wanted to download the game. i read that i need to put it where i have the grim dawn ashes of malmouth located which i did, the name of the files i moved was: steamclient.dll steam_api but nothing happened. there most be something wrong with the method and i'm not sure if i have actually cracked it or whatever i'm suppose to do, i don't even know where to do it oh and also, where i assume it's suppose to say crack, it says codex on the map also in my game it doesn't say engine on one of the maps, it doesn't have such a map.
i found the issue, in the codex folder, it also has 2 Grim Dawn files which i copied and replaced the game files with, by doing this the game started without steam... there is only one problem tho... THE GAME DOESN'T RESPOND, HELP! oh wait, you responded to someone below who also had this problem, can you tell me how to install the vredist files? i couldn't find a trace of it when downloading
You tried turn off your AV and Firewall before use crack/install? if still dont work, try install all Vredist, XNA.. (I think better way, you should search on google about 3DPChip, then download and install it, it's freeware. After install, run it, it will give you a link to download the lastest driver for your VGA, download and update driver for your VGA, it inclu Vredist, DirectX,... ), now try restart your PC and start game ;)
can't figure this out at all, i downloaded 3dpchip and got checkmarks on the things with ! and i downloaded a couple vcredist and xna manually, not all but the game still doesn't load up, i didn't redownload everything since that would take a long time

I fixed the black screen only with GoG version of the expansion by installing it over GoG Original in this site. It was only way I was able to get it to work so maybe should add the GoG version as well.
I agree. A lot of love went into making this and it shows. It's what I call "What Diablo 3 should've been". I'll be buying this and the original, once I get my money right (hard-times) they MORE than earned it!

Already no antivirus, disabled only reading files on My Docs, game running on adm mode, got no clue how to save the changes on Options and Keybinds.
I was like "oh geez..." but then Options and Keys were saved, and restarting the game made my lvl27 appear again. As long as it works...

. b. If it's checked than the save will be at appdata, to reach there press win+r and write "%appdata%" at the dialog box that will open without the quotes. It will open a folder named "roaming" go to "roaming\steam\codex\219990" and check the two folders there,
If there's anything inside any of these folders (a and b options) you will probably find a folder named after each character that it holds (a character named "Sorin" will have a folder named "_Sorin" with the underline. The folders are usually inside a "main" folder.
EDIT: Nevermind. Apparently when I extracted the part 1 before the part 2 somehow 7zip knew there was a part 2 and extracted it along with.
This should resolve the issue (I had the same ^^)
All i can recommend to find it is to quickly load up the game run around for a sec then exit.. Then look in the folders for the file that was used last then you should know what folder is grim dawns :)
It is the complete version (v 1.1.1.0), complete with old updates, all DLCs and the new expansion (Forgotten Gods)

Edit: The only downside to the version in the torrents is that any changes you make in the Option's Menu won't save, other than that, the game is complete and runs smoothly.

At the end the installer says it was designed for the v.1.0.5.1 of the game which is the one i'm using and it's working fine.
I really don't wanna download the entire game again because my internet is shit.

i kept getting this when i tried to update the game to v 1.0.4.1, any suggestions about how to fix it??

then download all the updates and extract all the updates one by one and from the oldest to the latest download everything one by one ... that is how updates work

i encountered new issues tho, the game apparently looks different on startup for me and when talking to an npc, the screen turns lighter. Maybe deleting this file removed some of the heavy load for it to startup
edit: oh... the game is automatically set to one of the 3 color blindness options and i had to set it to normal, then this means there are no cons of deleting the file, great!

The game will be expansion but will still be only version 1.0.1.1 GOG update first. You can play with old characters but new ones are bugged. They are stuck unable to move.
Then I updated the GOG expansion + 1.0.1.1 to 1.0.2.0 GOG update. I still haven't tested it fully but it seems to work for the first 10 mins of testing it. Characters are no longer stuck. You need both original GOG 1.0.1.1 version on this site and the new GOG expansion version 1.0.2 with the standalone 1.0.2 that was just released so it is a lot of required storage space not install space. The install space stays the same.
Not sure what fixed it but at least it works for now. Maybe someone can help figure out why you need to install on top of GOG 1.0.1.I have not tested it other way so it can maybe work with installing the 1.0.2 on top of 1.0.1.1 and then the expansion on top of 1.0.2 which seems more logical. Someone else can try it.
I also used CCleaner to clear my cache and registry of anything related to Grim Dawn before reinstalling the original GOG 1.0.1.1 version. I do that all the time I uninstall a program so I am not sure if that actually helped out or not.
Anyone having problems install daemon tools lite and mount IGG-Grim.Dawn.Ashes.of.Malmouth.iso and then choose to run setup.exe After this just make sure to check the box to automatically copy contents of Codex folder and click install. It can then be launched and played without any more steps.

i own crucible dls and the main game on steam and for some reason when i went through and downloaded, unzipped and followed a few things as closely to the guides as possible, what ended up happening was that when i launch the game, it connects me to steam and then opens up as if it was my steam version, i also run the dail mod on my main game.
i tried uninstalling grim dawn on steam and then pressed the grim dawn ashes of malmouth on my desktop and it took me to steam asking if i wanted to download the game.
i read that i need to put it where i have the grim dawn ashes of malmouth located which i did, the name of the files i moved was: steamclient.dll steam_api but nothing happened. there most be something wrong with the method and i'm not sure if i have actually cracked it or whatever i'm suppose to do, i don't even know where to do it
oh and also, where i assume it's suppose to say crack, it says codex on the map
also in my game it doesn't say engine on one of the maps, it doesn't have such a map.
oh wait, you responded to someone below who also had this problem, can you tell me how to install the vredist files? i couldn't find a trace of it when downloading
