I encourage people to pirate this game and not buy it, as apparently the developers are anti-capitalist. So I propose to respect their decision and not give them money through the evil free market.
So I downloaded the files, unzipped them, but I couldn't figure out how to actually start the game. The HatinTime game folder just has config, localization, cooked pc, and a mp3 file. I went into Binaries, Winx64 for the .exe file and it would look like the game was loading for 10 seconds, then it just closes itself and nothing happens.
I figured out how to make the game work, you need to switch the current crack files and switch to codex crack files. Get the latest codex crack files and put in the Binaries/Win64
I still can't get the updates to work ;-; It stays stuff like this: HatinTimeGame\CookedPC\Maps\harbor\mafia_town_modular2.umap Hash sum mismatch! Required MD5: 842770970
The updates don't work and the game doesn't even wanna run :( [0081.06] Log: === Critical error: === Fatal error! did everything, download part 1,part2, all the updates in order and also checked the apply codex dir, but after all that setup, somehow the application upon running gives an error saying MSVCR100.dll file is missing, could anyone help me??
when i try to download the first update it gets stuck on textrues.cft.cdx or something is it acutally stuck there or does it just take a long time for the textures to be updated
Windows 10 > Notifications Interface > Configurations > Update & Security > Windows Security > Protection Against Virus and Threats (and again in that interface you should find an option with the same name, you have to click there and deactivate the option "real time protection" and then you have to go back) > Threats History And then you search for the .exe, in the "threats in cuarentine" interface, you have to click on "restore" (but first check if it is) and done. (sorry if my english is garbage)
I started the game on the Desktop as administrator, but it needs to be opened with something, and I could only use Microsoft Store, but it doesn't work. Help? Also, it is somehow A Hat In Time Ultimate http://Edition.ink.
i downloaded the game and the updates and finished everything but when i try to open the game it says these files are missing "d3dx9_43.dll , XINPUT1_3.dll , X3DAudio1_7.dll , XAPOFX1_5.dll" edit: nvm i fixed the problem and now its trying to open steam how do i crack it?
There should be a folder called Crack, or the cracker team name (CODEX,etc.) Then drag the files into the corresponding folders, or just into where the exe is (depending on what files there are) Hope that helps!
I can't play. it installed properly, and seemed ok. but when I clicked the banner or client, the program just disappear like popping bubble. I'm very confused now
Is the file size less than 5 MB? Did you get the file directly, or have you used an exe? If the answer to any of the questions is yes, you downloaded an ad. Please try downloading the files again and make sure you get the correct ones.
you've probably figured it out by now, but when i installed the game without the updates, i had it in already, i just needed to unlock the door to it with the time pieces
I downloaded both parts and the updates and extracted them to a file but in the file it does not have the hat in time game application and I cant figure it out can someone please help me out
I installed the game and the updates, the _CommonRedist and when I start the game, it shows the picture when it's loading and then the game itself doesn't run :( Why is that?
Dont know how these update files totally worked, but I accidentally ignored them and just did the top two parts from google drive, and there is not application launcher for the game after doing the setup, guess i should do the update then?
uh, so i started the game already, 25% in, but forgot to do the updates. at first, i thought i only needed the latest update. after it scanning and failing all tasks, i looked through the comments here and realized that i had to download and install each in order, and check the installdir codex thing. so i did. unfortunately, after successfully intsalling the first two updates (17/05 and 19/05), the third one refused to work. it keeps failing the scan at first, so i can't install it. of course, i can't install the fourth one either. oh and, i'd hate to reinstall the whole game, i don't want to lose my progress... unless there's a way to retrieve it, but even so, it took me quite a while to download it! please help, i really love the game and want to make sure i'm fully updated!!
i cant play the dlcs maps i compleated the game 100% and still did not work when i press the e on the panle it only showes my the splash art and view the store page what should i do
hey i need help i played the game but when i got all 45 time pieces the tour rift in the attic hasn't shown up i got all of the arctic cruise time pieces but i need the tour rift can anyone help me out
There's a problem when I try to extract the file. (C:\Users\user\Downloads\A.Hat.in.Time.Ultimate.Edition-CODEX.part1.rar: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged) Please help.
Being honest, not yet. I'm unsure if the error has to do with not having the updates installed, or trying to extract it with WinRAR isn't the way to do it. I can't download the other part with Google Drive or any other site atm so... more waiting, and hopefully when it's all finished it works.
That error message usually appears when you dont have all the parts, the program goes looking for the next part, and when it cant find it, it assumes the file is corrupted
Well, part 2 downloaded and nothing yet, perhaps I have to download the updates? This isn't the first time I had this error message pop up even though I'm pretty sure it should'nt unless the file really is corrupted, or whatever the issue really is.
no, when it says that it is an unknown format, it means that it is corrupted and you need to download it again, but if the error said that the file finished in a wrong way, that means that you're missing a part. so you need to download part 1 again Hope this helped.
mods for the game are in the steam workshop, so normally you cant download steam workshop mods onto a cracked game, however there is a nexus mod page for the game
There's a problem with the installer, apparently it's some kind of DLL file missing, but even after downloading it, it doesn't work. EDIT: Nope, I tried to cheat using another "cracked game installer" and the thing still doesn't work. It's not a Missing DLL error, but a corrupt archive header. I also opened the .bin file with 7zip and I see only files that doesn't go over 7-8GB. So, yeah... You really need to update this one Why don't you crack the GOG version of the game? It's way easier + it works perfectly
I check mark the "Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir". But when I run the game, it opens up the booting screen (the splash art), then closes without running the game. And if I install without checking that box off, the game works, however, the dlc's arn't there and all i get are "??". Please help?
you have to uninstall, then install again, but when you're in the install window, check the box that says "Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir" then, it should work
i thought i had this problem not too long ago, turns out on the 17-5 updater theres one file that just takes really long to install. it almost looks like a bug but it isn't you just gotta wait until it's done
Are you installing the oldest update first? I tried installing just the latest one and got the texture error, but when I installed all of them in order I got a proper install. Make sure to Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir every time!
By the way, I found the Nyakuza Metro part a bit far from the ship, so it means that the DLC is in it, but does not let me play it. (I could not find the StD)
it could be you outa reinstall the game, (don't worry you can keep your save file) make sure to install part 1 and 2, and extract both of them in the same folder, and install it again. if you don't know where the save file is its in (folder idk)/a hat in time/HatintimeGame/savedata)
I do not understand why when i installed the first update that is crucial for the game to work, in the middle of the installation by the setup, there is a point when he scans some textures where he stays there and does not advance anymore, until then says failed installation I need help pls (sorry for my english)
I had the same problem, but installing the game then installing the updates immediately after, in order, stopped giving me texture error. Make sure to Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir every time, base and updates!
I check mark the "Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir". But when I run the game, it opens up the booting screen, then closes without running the game. And without checking that box off, the game works. However, the dlc's arn't working and i have no idea what to do. Is it possible to ask for help? BTW: I installed the updates correctly
Maybe uncheck the box when installing the base game but check the box when installing the updates? Also, when the game crashed on booting up the first time, I was able to load it up by running it in Windows Compatibility Mode, so maybe try that after installation? Sorry for such a late response!
Can you help me, whenever i launch the exe file it opens a banner or picture on my desktop then closes, ive tried removing the controller out like some old comment said and then i tried to constlay click the exe file expecting something diffrent to happen (nothing diffrent happen) and this is my last resort, origanly when i downloaded and installed the game everything was working fine then when i restarted the computer and the systemconfig files mustve became glitched out or somthing and i couldnt raise my resolution to 1920x1080 then my save was gone and the new save wouldnt save onto the slot and i just keep on deleting and reinstalling the game hopeing for something to happen. please help.
I would also see the banner and then the game would close with no message. I had to unplug my Oculus Headset for it to work. I suspect a multi-monitor issue
I have the problem that although I already installed the game correctly the Crack, it does not let me install updates and it appears to me that an error occurred in the installation, and if I try to play the normal version it stays in the beginning
Well i can only think of one thing. You probably didn't replaced the banaries folder from the CODEX folder into the game folder . Read "Instructions on how to install" guide . It tells you how to do it more precisely than i can explain .
When you turn on the xbox 360 controller the game crashes. Seems to only like keyboard. Seal the Deal version from before worked fine with xbox360 controller. Anyone have a fix for this?
Did you download an exe file? When opening the exe, did you get a rar file, or am I missing something? If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.
I need some help while im installing the updates says: ´´An error has ocurred while initial scan in a selected directory! Error details are listed above. Installing of this Update to the selected directory is not possible, this Update is originallydesigned for A.Hat.in.Time.Ultime.Edition.Update.v20190519´´ Please help me
i downloaded these files, but nothing works. when trying to unzip part1 and part2, i just get and error saying "no files were found". they are the right sizes and everything, i'm not sure of what's wrong. it took me a few hours to download them, so i dont really want to redownload :/ anything would help
when installing the ultimate edition update, do you install it on the file: A Hat In Time Seal The Deal file ? i tried doing that with the 17/05/2019 update but it says an error occured after a little while
i just finished downloading it but if i install it and uninstall the Seal the Deal edition, will i still have my progress ? if not how do i keep my save files because i dont even know where they are located
The game doesn't seem to start, and I'm on 64 bits, having every single minimum recommended (I'm on Windows 10, have a 3.0 ghz processor, 4 gb of ram, directX is newest and my F/ drive where it is installed has 90 GB left of storage). What do I do?
i try 5/17 first but it won't work. i have the "seal the deal" version. Do i have to download the ultimate edition ? If yes, how to keep my save data ?
Can someone tell me why i cant go to nyakuza metro even if needed time pieces is 20 and i have 21. Also when I want to get to nyakuza metro it shows no power and needed timepieces is "??". When i press then 'E' it shows only visit the shop to buy it. Can someone tell me what i need to do so i can play dlc's ( seal the deal too)? p.s. i have already uninstalled and installed again like 3 times :P.
Is there something specific i need to do in order to access the online mode in the nyakuza metro update ? for some reason the facility isn't in the main hub even though it's enabled.
For the Nyakuzo DLC, you have to get a specific amount of Time Pieces. (I don't remember how many because i have finished the game) For Seal The Deal you have to get 35 Time Pieces. They both are working, you just have to get more Time Pieces
To go to nyakuza metro is normally needed 20 time pieces but i have 21 and still i cant get here. It's showing that i need ?? time pieces and when i try to get in here it shows me to visit store page. How can I fix it?
Maybe you did something to the files of the game, or either it's an error. Remove your savefile to a safe spot so it doesn't get deleted and try re-installing the game.
What worked for me is double click on "A.Hat.In.Time.Ultimate.Edition-CODEX" and it will take you to a disc file double click the setup file and it will bring up some fancy setup menu. check the box that says "Copy the contents of CODEX directory to installdir" then click "Install"
So I downloaded both Parts and did the setup but now i can't open the game, it just opens steam, even if i have steam closed. Please help me, I really wanna play this game.
I don't see any crack folder and game folder, all i got is the codex folder and a file with: codex, codex-a.hat.in.time.ultimate.edition, IGG-GAMES.COM,PCGAMESTORRENT.COM and README
When You Downloaded A Game That Requieres Crack, In The Setup Folder, There Should Be "CODEX" or "PLAZA", If Theres Not A Folder In The Setup Folder Named "CODEX" or "PLAZA" Then I Dont Know.
Yes it does, it's just reached quota. If you have a google account, import the file to your drive, then make a copy and download the copy you made. If you don't have one, you'l have to wait 24 hours
yes, the patch notes said that this includes the May 17th update and the May 15th update, i think the May 11th one is already included on the ultimate edition
Well, that's not true. Lot's of cracked games have "Steamworks fix" which allow you to play these games using steam, allowing access to online features. My real question is "Is there a steamworks fix for this game ?"
to fix errors that involves the DLC, and not from a mod breaking the game. Well, they enabled the mods again, now let's wait for the Igggames dudes to update here :I
Ah ok that makes sense. Hope they release the update here fast, there's a certain mod i want to play for myself. Also speaking of mods, the mods aren't steam workshop only are they? As far as i know those don't work on pirated versions
It works. Make sure to use 7zip to extract both 1 and 2 into the same folder to get the ISO then use deamon tools or whatever for the CD drive part For the updates, you have to download each and every single one and update it one by one manually it's a hassle, but it's worth it. it's a good game :)
do you need to install the updates aswell? or is that only if you downloaded it before the updates came out? sorry haven't dealt with this situation before ^^;
if dlcs weren't included the file size could be just 5gb which would be a nice amount of space saved it might not seem like much but saving bits and bits of space on every game, all together you end up having space for an extra game or two
you can do by going to a site like this http://steamworkshop.download/ and pasting the url of the mod (steamworkshop) , download it and just put the unzipped folder here X:\Games\A Hat in Time\HatinTimeGame\Mods and then start the game...
when i install the second update it just says this HatinTimeGame\CookedPC\CharTextures.tfc Hash sum mismatch! Required MD5: 289753526 HatinTimeGame\CookedPC\Engine.u Hash sum mismatch! I have the oldest version of a hat in time and its functioning well. I downloaded the latest update without downloading both parts of a hat in time again. I open codex but it fails everytime i try putting the binaries i did everything. can someone please reply by telling me step by sstep what to do? It tells me that theres an error in codex.
Uninstall the game and then try to install everything from zero, first the maingame and then all the updates in date order, try to keep the save folder of the one you have, when you finish the installation move the savefolder to the same place 👍, (you can find the folder location in Google).
I dont understand the crack, if i download the main game, it has a crack, but if i download the updates, they have a crack too, should i install the four cracks in order or just the crack of the main game?
Every update needs to be cracked, so yes, everytime you install the update, apply the crack that comes with in manually or you can do it automatically with the installer itself and you will be ok, this apply to almost all the games around here.
close steam and turn off your wifi and it should work. or try another launcher (haven't played so dont know if there is a launcher and game this just helps on every other game for me)
(You may already have solved this but just to make sure)Sorry for not replying, it worked for me when i pasted it into the main hat in time folder called "A Hat in Time Seal the Deal", the one with all the other folders binaries, engine etc. (I originally pasted it into the win64 folder in binaries, so i dont know if you need to put it there too) Me being in the main folder is shown in the picture below Hope i helped
Has the newest update been released? It contains bug fixes that needed to be implemented after the release of the new DLC. (Fixing Peace and Tranquility bug, and a bunch of other death wish related errors.)
Okay kids, time to go through what your pal went through. Re-Open the .ISO file that came in your .rar, and open the CODEX folder. Move that into the folder where AHIT is, following the same paths. (aka open the a hat in time folder until you see a folder with the same name as the first folder (binaries, I believe), and just drag it into the folder. It'll copy over.) That folder contains the cracks, I forgot to do this my first time.
quick thing i didnt write this Ok i found the solution, so you normaly have an archive with setup.exe and the CODEX folder so go in this folder then binaries then Win64 then copy the 3 files. Then right click the executable of your game and click open file location, you may have a lot of dll files, then paste the 3 files in this sea of files and click on replace. Once you have done this you can play the game !
nothing i do seems to work. i downloaded part 1 and part 2, extracted and installed them. then i downloaded the dlc patch and updated it. when i go into the game, it still says Seal the deal is not available. can anyone help??? I'm not sure how to install the dlc.
Then copy and paste the folder SaveData into a safe place (let's say, directly on your desktop)
Uninstall the game. Don't worry, if the SaveData folder is safe, you won't lose anything. Then download and install the game again with the dlc update, enter the game, start a new game, skip though the intro and close the game. Now go again into the HatinTimeGame folder and copy and paste you previous save folder in here, over the clean-new one. Now you should have everything correct! (Also, don't forget the updates. You don't need to copy-paste your save data for them!)
Be warned! If you update to the "Seal the Deal" DLC, you WILL lose the ability to use mods until they fix it. Until then, I would highly suggest you save a copy of this version. If you have official mods from owning the game, put your mods in the "HatinTimeGame/Mods" folder.
Most of the mods are only on SteamWorkshop and aren't accessible without owning the game on Steam anyway. Third-party workshop downloaders don't work either. But if you do manage to find some you just put them in "[GameDir]\HatinTimeGame\Mods"
I found a way. Download your mods from a third-person site, copy the mod folders to "HatinTimeGame/Mods". The mafia in the Mailing Room will set you up with levels after you collect 8 Time Pieces, but anything else should be able to be used right away.
If there is a prophet or crack folder in the place the .iso is, the copy the contents of that into the game folder, then select that you want to replace the things in the game folder with the stuff from the prophet/crack folder
My laptop isn't that good, but I was able to get to Subcon Forest Act 2, and now I can't progress. It's not because the game crashes, no. It's because of the huge amount of lag I receive when I get into the area with the purple goop. It makes trying to jump up the leaves extremely difficult for me, because they are also on a timer. I also think I missed getting something at some point, but that is irrelevant, if anyone has a fix for this lag, I would like to know. I think the lag is caused by the goop, or the fog.
note: the updates are NOT CUMULATIVE. a) install the game but don't copy the CODEX folder. If the game is already patched then you must uninstall it. b) install first patch, then second, then the third and finally copy the CODEX folder (of the latest patch).
I installed the game using google drive, everything seemed fine until I tried launching it, every time I launch it, it says "Failed to create D3D9 Device (or something like that), this can happen if the desktop is locked" and I don't know what it means. Any suggestions? Also, are the updates and codex download required if it's a .iso?
I'm assuming I just had to run DXSETUP in that exact location. Thanks Edit: I think I still did something wrong. It says the same thing. Or maybe I read what you said wrong, but I'm not sure Edit Edit: Tried installing the directx from the link you gave, but it didn't work. The problem is it says my desktop is possibly locked so it can't create a certain file, and I have no clue why. I would provide a screenshot, but I can't get snipping tool to work with the error message open. Edit Edit Edit: I got it working, the problem was the default resolution in one of the files
i installed the game but when i try to open the game, nothing happens. i mean that the game window doesn't open, the mouse just shows the loading symbol and nothing happens. what should i do to rectify this problem?
the game works, but when i tried to install update 21/10/2017 it always shows error. any hint how to fix this? i'm on windows 10 64bit with 4gb ram and i3 processor.
Already tried everything, installing .netfx, visual c 2010,2015. Even doing clean boot. Maybe the setup program that not working, the other update setup program could run.
Ok i found the solution, so you normaly have an archive with setup.exe and the CODEX folder so go in this folder then binaries then Win64 then copy the 3 files. Then right click the executable of your game and click open file location, you may have a lot of dll files, then paste the 3 files in this sea of files and click on replace. Once you have done this you can play the game !
Oh yeah. The mod supports on 50%. We can access a mods folder, but since we can't import mods from workshop it basically goes to the grave. They need to make a igm-mods site for mods from workshop from games that need to pay on steam.
When I try to run the setup.exe of this game, it just does nothing but stays at the taskbar. There's no window or anything, it just "crashes" or something like that. Any help?
I cannot play in Windows 7 32-bit, because the Binaries in CODEX doesn't have the Win 32 folder; also the 'Real' Binaries does have the Win 32 folder, but without any launchers and it seems to be missing some files (compare with Win 4 folder). Could you help me??
All files I have confirmed are to be downloaded from here, so no problem with this. I can play the game, but as with someone, I would love to play the game with the updates. Anyways same problem, still haven't fixed.
Hey I heard there is going to be dlc in the game. New game mode ( after beating the game you can start over on hard mode) and multiplayer. New chapter coming out 2018 or late 2018.
so install common game support package and change resolution in HatinTimeGame\Config\HatinTimeSystemSettings.ini if it is still wrong. You need to change ResX= and ResY= in HatinTimeSystemSettings.ini
For everyone with controller trouble, here's what I did. Basically what i did is i took a Xbox 1 controller and a micro USB and plugged the usb side into the computer and the micro side into the controller... also make sure to take the batteries out so it doesnt connect to the xbox if its paired to one
'kay, time to check out if this "A Hat In Time" that everyone's talking about is actually good. In case it is, I promise I'll buy it, just to give the indie devs a hand.
I would still recommend buying the game not only because the devs deserve it but because of the community mod levels that will only come through Steam. think of kaizo mario and everything it spawned.
Number one rule of PC game piracy: If the game sends you to a store page when you run it, then you didn't install the crack properly. Make sure you copy the contents of the "CODEX" folder (found within the game's .iso file) to the same directory you've installed the game in and replace the files it asks you to replace, then try to run the game again. If you're positive you've installed the crack properly and the game still doesn't work, try reinstalling the game and the crack once again with your Antivirus software turned off and try to run it again. If it works, add an exception to the game's install directory so your antivirus doesn't alter or delete the cracked files without notifying you first. Also as a note for ALL "CODEX" releases: They use a custom installer that allows users to tick the "copy contents of CODEX folder to installdir" option before installation. This works with every single one of their releases and ensures that the crack is correctly installed as long as you do not install the game to C:\Program Files.
You need to install the latest one because the contents of previous updates are not going to be included in the latest upgrade, that would just a waste of storage. why? because assume someone has ALL updates except the latest one. if they install that update which, for some reason has all previous updates packed with it as well, which won't be used because the files are already there, and the game was never programmed to use all of these files if it already has the originals so these files are basically useless and if there was a lot of previous updates it would clog up alot of storage for no reason.
Hi there! Please don't upvote your own comment, some people don't like it around here. As for your issue, make sure that "steam_emu.ini" is located in A Hat in Time\Binaries\Win64/32 (depending on whether your OS is 64 bit or 32 bit), that your antivirus software isn't blocking any files within the game's installation directory and that you have 9 "Default" .ini files in A Hat in Time\HatinTimeGame\Config alongside 6 "HatinTime" .ini files in that same folder. It's quite likely that your antivirus software might believe the "steam_emu" or "steam_api" files are malicious and has removed them or disabled them without notifying you (as is the case with most cracks, these are all false positives, though). If this is the case, I'd advice reinstalling the game with your Antivirus software turned off and testing if the game works then. If it does, just add an exception to your antivirus so it doesn't scan or delete any files in your Hat in Time game directory.
Another 2 months passed and the like is still here. Indeed a dirty cuckboi, how dare he not revert such an easy-to-fix disrespectful close-to-criminal behaviour.
Well now that you have your problem fixed I suggest that you un-upvote your own comment you HAT IN TIME FAN FRIK!11!!!!1!!1!!11!!!11! SammyClassicsSonicFan cough cough
Hi there! I don't really use a gamepad for this game but a friend of mine does and he didn't have any issues setting it up. Check the game's options just in case and if nothing helps you could try using x360ce (just Google it, it's free and pretty simple to use), it should let you use your gamepad then.
I really don't know what to tell you, then. I had someone else try it a bit after my last reply and the game worked perfectly on their computer as well, recognizing their gamepad right away. Granted, neither of the two people I know who play it with a gamepad use an Xbox 360 controller, they both use one of those PS2-like USB controllers. I don't really know why you'd have trouble with an Xbox one, though... Only thing I can think of is to check the game's settings .ini file and see if you can force the gamepad through it, but I couldn't be of much help since I don't currently have a gamepad of my own I could use to test this. A quick Google search also revealed that some people believe that not touching the mouse/keyboard after running the game will help as the game "locks" into keyboard/mouse mode if you as much as accidentally click past the opening logos. Also found this which is why I suggested x360ce ( https://gamenotworking.com/index/a-hat-in-time/a-hat-in-time-gamepad-not-working-gamepad-issue-gamepad-configuration-problems-controller-issue-joystick-not-recognized-gamepad-not-present.html ). Sadly, I seem to be out of ideas regarding this issue. Sorry I couldn't be of much help x -x
Hi there! There's a quick fix for the "Failed to create d3d9 device" error you seem to be getting:
Go to your game's install directory and navigate to "A Hat in Time\HatinTimeGame\Config
In the config folder, open the file named "DefaultSystemSettings.ini" with Notepad (or any text editor, really)
Search for the lines "ResX" and "ResY" (Without quotation marks) and change their values to match your monitor's native X and Y resolution (i.e. 1366x768)
Save the changes and close the file, then try to run the game again. The d3d9 issue should now no longer occur and you can freely change your resolution to whatever you want in the game's in-game options screen.
Thank you IGG for uploading the updates! I wasn't even aware there was one more update after the 21/10 one. In case anyone has any trouble updating: Both updates use the CODEX installer. Make sure that before you start updating you change the install directory to point to the correct folder where you installed the base game (by default it points to program files, so if you installed the game elsewhere you'll need to manually change it) and don't forget to check the box next to "Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir" so the installer automatically applies the crack once it's done updating. Also keep in mind updates are not cumulative so you need to install the 21/10 update first and the 26/10 update after that.
The CODEX installer shows the install directory, by default I believe it points to C:\Program Files\A Hat in Time. You just have to change that to the folder you installed the game to by using the "browse" button next to it.
Definitely not normal, try reinstalling the game and disabling your antivirus software during the process as well as adding an exception for the game's .exe. Some antivirus software flags cracks as potentially unwanted or otherwise harmful software and proceed to delete them.
We'll have to know the rest of your system specs to see if they are at least up-to-par with the game's minimum requirements or if the hardware is incompatible with the game, which is VERY rare unless you use a graphics card that is more than 3 generations behind.
I had a similar issue while I was trying to play a legitimate copy of a game, I just looked at a specific part of the game's files and managed to find that DLL and from there I moved it manually to where it said it failed to move it to, but the location of the file in that legitimate copy was quite simple, I don't know with a hat in time though since I never ran into an issue with a DLL file like you. but on the other hand you didn't crack the game properly. to crack it properly you just need to move the files found in CODEX to the roots of the game file.
Maybe there's a sound card requirement that isn't put in here, but if anything you should check the actual steam page which should if not will have more accurate requirements, on the other hand you're just a total dum dum that didn't check the sound settings to see if they're muted or something
You won't need virtual drives with PowerISO because using PowerISO you can just extract it from the .iso instead of have to mount a new drive. but I believe other kinds of software can also do that... hopefully.
You need to open up Daemon Lite and at the bottom you'll see a bunch of CD looking images. Hover over one and an X will appear near the top right. Click that and you'll get back one of the Virtual Drives. Usually you won't need them after everything is done so you can safely X all of them.
I can run it perfectly on an i3-4360 3.70 GHz. Assuming you have a good graphics card it should work fine, netting you solid 30 FPS at the absolute least, if not more than that.
yeah gotta agree this game is CUTE. CUTE!! you can finish this game in 3-4 gameplay days depending on your irl schedule. and that's talking as casual gaming with experience in platforming. you're really missing out if you skip this game.
THIS GAME IS SO CUTE. With that out of the way, downloaded through the torrent site, works like a charm! The game is a really fun platformer which combines Wind Waker character aesthetics with a very Super Mario Sunshine feel to the overall gameplay, with a bunch of ability-granting hats and the occasional Assassin's Creed-style wall-running little hat-girl can pull off. Seriously, that girl would put Ezio to shame. Controls are amazingly smooth and the game, if perhaps a bit easy for hardcore platformer fans, is just an overall cute and nice experience with vibrant worlds and a ton of stuff to see while you explore them. The only issue I came across is not an issue related to this upload, but rather to the game itself. The issue is that the game, on first launch, tries to run the game in 1600x900 resolution. Monitors that do not support such a large resolution result in the dreaded "failed to create d3d9 device" error. Another user posted the fix for this issue a few posts below so just scroll down to get it or search in google for the error. Asides from that, absolutely zero issues! Thanks for the great upload, and I highly recommend this game to those who enjoyed the colorful aesthetics of Yooka-laylee and Super Mario Sunshine!
Is the Crack folder missing? I installed it, but it doesn't work. When I run it (as administrator or not) the steam window pops on and says "A hat in time is starting" but then nothing starts.
You should go to the CODEX folder which is found in the .ISO and the files that are: steam_api.dll steam_api.cdx steam_emulate.ini (files should be similar if not identical in name, if not they should be in extension) and move those over to the directory where you set up your game in.
I have a problem,I download a hat in time I crack and copy those files to the game but it says it's missing some files like some .dll files. Did I missing something?
Use the crack. Right click on the mounted ISO and select open. Inside there will be a folder called CODEX. There will be 3 files. Find where you installed your game and then go to Binaries/Win64 and paste them there. Then launch the game.
where are my ingame screenshots being saved? the ones taken with the camera? by the way, for everyone getting the D3D9 error message go to where you installed the game (program x86 was my default) > HatinTimeGame > config > open the HatinTimeSystemSettings.ini > ctr + f and search for ResX > change the number based on the resolution of your monitor (in my case i did 1280 for ResX and 720 for ResY) > launch the game
i just googled the error message and saw that it had something to do with the game's resolution. so then i went to the config files for the game and edited it lol
I've got an error similar to others where it says "Failed to create D3D9 device! This can happen if the desktop is locked. Exiting...". I've properly cracked it (I've done it before without issues with other games) but I'm getting the error. Is it because the game is trying to launch in a resolution which isn't my own? i.e. 1366 x 768
Okay, I managed to dig around a bit in the game folder and found a fix for it myself. Go to A Hat in Time/HatinTimeGame/Config/DefaultSystemSettings. Open that file in Notepad and find ResX and ResY. Change the existing values to 1366 and 768 respectively. Should start working after that.
Been having issues with it saying I "failed to create D3D9 device". I tried changing resolutions in the configuration and setting different launch options on steam but it won't work!

Holy shit, only 10 minutes in and I'm already in love with this title! I'm sure this game delivers what "Yooka Laylee" couldn't. :) Thanks for uploading, it's definitely a must buy for me!
Answer, yes, everything worked fine. Don't forget to crack the game. You don't even have to do it manually, cause it's already in the installer, you just need to check the box for it: "Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir".
"yet you participate in society. curious!"
nice own
I'm very puzzled.

I definitely have kernel32.dll and ntdll.dll on my comp (I checked)
What do I do?
And then you search for the .exe, in the "threats in cuarentine" interface, you have to click on "restore" (but first check if it is) and done.
(sorry if my english is garbage)
And yeah, I tried that already. It seems Avast just deleted my file without telling me.
I opened the file on my desktop, but still jump to STEAM to buy
help~!
Also, it is somehow A Hat In Time Ultimate http://Edition.ink.
Then drag the files into the corresponding folders, or just into where the exe is (depending on what files there are)
Hope that helps!
Did you get the file directly, or have you used an exe?
If the answer to any of the questions is yes, you downloaded an ad.
Please try downloading the files again and make sure you get the correct ones.
computer recognizes
please help, i really love the game and want to make sure i'm fully updated!!
Please help.
I can't download the other part with Google Drive or any other site atm so... more waiting, and hopefully when it's all finished it works.
This isn't the first time I had this error message pop up even though I'm pretty sure it should'nt unless the file really is corrupted, or whatever the issue really is.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1K8bql1z22KanHUCd-YtWshVfC2MLT5pM
so you need to download part 1 again
Hope this helped.
I put my mods in the Mod folder but it doesn't work.
EDIT: Nope, I tried to cheat using another "cracked game installer" and the thing still doesn't work. It's not a Missing DLL error, but a corrupt archive header. I also opened the .bin file with 7zip and I see only files that doesn't go over 7-8GB. So, yeah... You really need to update this one
Why don't you crack the GOG version of the game? It's way easier + it works perfectly
I need help pls (sorry for my english)
BTW: I installed the updates correctly
Any solution?
If the Mods folder doesn't exist, just create one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pThdkuCpIk
When opening the exe, did you get a rar file, or am I missing something?
If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.

EDIT: For those who want the May 17 update that re enables mods here you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12azeeSlVADUe6bAckguNrjFe9Y9ODY5Q/view
into the game folder
https://pcgamestorrents.com/a-hat-in-time-ultimate-edition-codex.html
you should use steam workshop downloader
http://steamworkshop.download/
if you have the may 17th update please post the link to download
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHWRgf4Gm68
then use deamon tools or whatever for the CD drive part
For the updates, you have to download each and every single one and update it one by one manually
it's a hassle, but it's worth it. it's a good game :)
I recommend
It even has a high buying value
Do not doubt about the goodness of the game
Updates are not necessary, to play...but they are always useful.

Hope i helped
Re-Open the .ISO file that came in your .rar, and open the CODEX folder. Move that into the folder where AHIT is, following the same paths. (aka open the a hat in time folder until you see a folder with the same name as the first folder (binaries, I believe), and just drag it into the folder. It'll copy over.)
That folder contains the cracks, I forgot to do this my first time.
Once you have done this you can play the game !
https://youtu.be/zJrXEHI_9a8
I'm not sure how to install the dlc.
Ive already finishhed the game before and im not sure how to play seal the deal without starting over.
Teach me your ways o' wise one.
if you dont know, just give me the directory from steam mods
plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Thanks
Loved It
Bought It
No Regrets!
(+ it's on sale just as this comment pops in ;) )
So bummer...
a) install the game but don't copy the CODEX folder. If the game is already patched then you must uninstall it.
b) install first patch, then second, then the third and finally copy the CODEX folder (of the latest patch).
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
Its also in the folder
Games\A Hat in Time_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010
Edit Edit: Tried installing the directx from the link you gave, but it didn't work. The problem is it says my desktop is possibly locked so it can't create a certain file, and I have no clue why. I would provide a screenshot, but I can't get snipping tool to work with the error message open. Edit Edit Edit: I got it working, the problem was the default resolution in one of the files
Please help i don't know how to fix it
I'm asking this because there are bold, red markers saying "UPDATE (date of update)"
the first update it shows this
re downloading the update from every server i still get the same error
New game mode ( after beating the game you can start over on hard mode) and multiplayer.
New chapter coming out 2018 or late 2018.
in HatinTimeGame\Config\HatinTimeSystemSettings.ini if it is still wrong. You need to change ResX= and ResY= in HatinTimeSystemSettings.ini
Indeed a dirty cuckboi, how dare he not revert such an easy-to-fix disrespectful close-to-criminal behaviour.
Some antivirus software flags cracks as potentially unwanted or otherwise harmful software and proceed to delete them.

There should be the steam api files u need to copy from a Codex Folder to the Game folder (replace the current ones)
I'm sure this game delivers what "Yooka Laylee" couldn't. :)
Thanks for uploading, it's definitely a must buy for me!
Don't forget to crack the game.
You don't even have to do it manually, cause it's already in the installer, you just need to check the box for it: "Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir".
Papa Bless CODEX!
