hiveswap was working in my laptop , then i had to re-install windows 10 , and hiveswap wasn't working after that , so i want to ask what programs do hiveswap need to work , i mean like net. and DirectX etc. the photo is what i see if i run hiveswap
Hello! I did the steam_appid.txt solution but it still does not launch and goes to the hiveswap page in steam. I can provide screen shots but am fairly sure I did everything correctly. If anyone knows of a fix, please help!
Screenshots please, of game folder and of the contents of the steam_appid.txt file. However, if you are sure you have done everything correctly, you might be one of the unlucky people who the game just doesn't work for. I looked at the Steam forum for this game and some people can't get it to start either.

I've configured it and tested it with Hiveswap from here. You need to extract them to the same folder as the Hiveswap-Act1.exe, then run the SmartSteamLoader.exe as admin. Hopefully this will work. The save file will be in C:\Users\ProfileName\AppData\LocalLow\What Pumpkin Edited: Found save file in normal location for the game, not SSE folder.

I dl'd from igg and another blog but both are version 1.2.13 and are unable to keep saves or load. The last beta branch released is 1.2.39 but I guess no one cares enough to upload/fix the save problems with 1.2.13 :( Sorry if this question is not of your interest and thank you for the fix on hiveswap<3

Did you create the text file exactly as in my instructions? Because it works for me so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. Make sure it contains only 623940 exactly - no spaces or other punctuation. If you've done that correctly then you may need to actually install the Steam client. I think that's been a problem for other games as well.
It crashes often for me. Is there any tip to ease things up a bit? Edit: Nevermind, channeled my inner wrath onto the files and I think I fixed it? It's been nice.

Method 1
- Extract the files by right-clicking HIVESWAP.Act.1.v1.3.part1.rar and selecting 'Extract here'. Do not try to run it from within the rar archive.
- Go into the game folder (where the steam_api.dll and Hiveswap-Act1.exe are located)
- Create a new text file and call it steam_appid.txt
- Edit the new file and type in 623940 and save.
- You should now be able to run the game.
