the file that comes with the setup exe and the crack folder is an iso file or a dvd drive file so i am not able to move the crack files to the file with the setup and copying the files into the folder with the setup because the dvd drive has no space

In the folder where the setup was there is a folder named Crack. You need to copy the files from that folder and paste it in the Sonic Mania folder. Then there will be no errors.

So I can't play the game, it brings up a message saying "The code execution cannot proceed because antidenuvo.dll was not found." What do I do? There was no setup application available. Edit: So apparently my computer just never unpacked the antidenuvo file I neede, didn't even show that it was a "threat" as it should have. I have it fixed now though.

Make sure your antivirus is off when extracting files or the crack will be deleted. Go to CommonRedist and install directx. Go to vcredist and install vc_redist_x86. Start the game as admin..To make a larger window go to Settings (above start icon) make windowed=n and border=n. You may want to lower your resolution..Its an old game..You may want to try JoytoKey app for joystick/gamepad control. Videos on how to use it on YOUTUBE..Statements about 64bit and others are incorrect..Have fun..
This doesn't work for me either. I have a 64bit system. And for those that are crying about not having money for 64bit system, NEWSFLASH I have an hp desktop that was manufactured in 2010 that has a 64bit capable cpu. That has nothing to do with this game not working. Its a bunk copy that's all. I run this normally I get an error telling me to run as admin, when I run as admin a window pops up like its loading and it beeps 8or9 times then closes. Unknown Error
Computers manufactured as back as 2007 had 64-bit processors, and they were the really cheap ones for light browsing and document work. There are some really cheap laptops out right now which have a 64-bit processor and meet the recommended requirements, so please, go get yourself one of those, or change your processor if you're using a custom build.
i hope we get a crack of the july 18th update that removes the denuvo entirely. im sick of these insane slowdowns, long loading times, and no mod loader support. not trying to sound selfish or anything, but if you deliver a crack i'd prefer it would be done right.
Does anybody have the 18th of July update of Sonic Mania Plus cracked yet?? The VOKSI crack only has the 17th of July version on it, and, because of this, Mania Mod Loader is NOT compatible with ANY mods... Or at least can somebody explain to me if it's possible to run any of these mods on this version?
use rsdk5 extractor plus, extract your rsdk, and when it finishes it will close out. copy all 3 folders into your mania plus directory, and rename your rsdk (you can name it anything that isnt data.rsdk) pretty much all mods replace things in the data folder, so you can just take the data folder from the mod and copy paste it into your mania plus directory.
rename the data.rsdk, not the folder, the one that rsdkv5 created would be put in the plus directory, and the mods data folder will be put in the same place. (it should ask you if you want to replace the files, say yes)

If you can buy an ancient 32 bit system, you can buy a newer 64 bit system. For me, I pirate a game first to see if it is good before I buy. You shed a bad light on the PC and pirate community. Please research and think with reason before making any observations. If we are pirating a game, you might aswell think we don't have enough money to buy a 64-bit processor as well as a motherboard that supports 64-bit and the processor (different kinds of pins call for different types of motherboards) and your PC hardware does not really matter, as almost any PC with modern standards should be able to run Mania Plus WITHOUT the DRM pretty well. We're just missing out on the 18th of Jul update, and it's really getting on our nerves, so if you would, please stop being mean and don't tell people to shut up and get a life if you keep bragging. the game works but where's controller support so 3p and 4p can play edit: every time i press a button it says the game malfunctioned or it wont do anything and i will have to use the keyboard
You can download those files from the internet and put them in the game folder ;) Just search for the names in Google and download the 32 or 64 bits version depending on your computer.

This crack is too buggy. Long loading screens, constant buffers,and I need luck just to open the darn thing. So I just bought it on Switch and it was well worth $30 bucks then waiting for God knows how long. But I still have to wait for a good PC crack to use mods. L :c
after testing a few things i got the game to work.... Sir Halo down in this comment section Helped me a bit make sure you have all the stuff installed the C++ stuff and what not then go grab some water maybe a snack come back and it should be running fine. Change V sync off for slow computers (mine) and have some pirate fun. I just followed what people have said here in the comments And after giving it time it works. Am i happy no but pirates can be choosers.
Make sure you have those up to date and in the folders the game comes with make sure those are installed or repaired to fix any issue. Then run the game as an administrator then go grab a snack bc loading times take forever

I don't fucking understand what the hell's wrong, but I run the game as admin, I have all the redists and everything, I had the previous version of Mania that worked just fine, but for some damn reason, this one simply won't open. When trying to run it without admin, it simply tells me to run with admin, then when I d that, the game is open in task manager, but It's not actually open on the desktop or anything.. What the hell.

Okay, so I downloaded Mania Plus and it works, although I had a few problems at first. First, my antivirus program detected malware in the exe. file and it kept deleting it. You'll have to make your defense program make an exception for the game. It doesn't really contain any viruses, so your PC will be okay (for those of you worrying about that). The guys here scan everything before they post it, so we're all good! Next, the game has to be run as an administrator. But then I had another problem, wherein the game opened with a dark screen and crashed. You need to install the files from the ''vcredist" folder. I also ran ''DXSETUP'' from the DirectX folder. After doing this, I ran the game as an administrator again and everything started working perfectly. I'm on Win 10 64-bit. Hope this helps.

The game takes ages to boot and to load the menu and anything in it. Other than that, it's working for what I've tested, but it's so tedious. The old version worked perfectly in my computer.
well the game is playable but it really have so bad issues the menu always freezes and in some areas of the stages there are fps drops . i used to play original mania 60 fps maybe the crack is causing it to lag

Hello guys, I downloaded the game and to be honest with you, I didn't see any issues at all, you have to run the game as an ADMIN, then, the game just play smooth, I didn't see any frame drop, no glitches or slowdowns, I was playing it for like 30 minutes without any problems. But just in case, I still have the old version, if you want it, please let me know, I will be more than happy to give you the Sonic Mania old version. I run all my games on Win 7 64-Bit Ultimate, I am going to test it on Win 10 Pro 64-Bit. I have an Intel i7 6700K, NVIDIA ASUS GTX 1070 Ti A8G. Please make sure you add the game as an exclusion on the antivirus, I have Avast the free version.
Maybe, but always make sure you have the latest graphics driver, .net frameworks and DirectX, and I hope you don't have any AMD graphics card, they are garbage, I had a awful experience with all PC and Emulator games.
Well I have tested the game and this version has some errors...in time attack if you go below lava reef the frame rate drops a lot, no music glitches, slowdown in competition mode menu...

It's a Voski crack. Voski's cracks never work universally since, at least the first few versions, use specific CPU ids so they only work for those specific cpu
Depends. I mean look at the Shining Force game that Voksi cracked. It took 5 different versions of the crack for everything to be working fine for everyone

Tried to run this game through Wine, and it worked perfectly the first time. Every time after that, the game tries to connect to http://garry.sgass.net, which is really shifty for a single player game. It seems to come with every SEGA game, which I think is completely obnoxious for the company to not inform their users.

I've pasted the Crack folder into the directory, yet I still get the "Unable to initialize SteamAPI" error. I reloaded the directory a few times with no success. Did I do something wrong?
If you want the latest update without DENUVO screwing you over while waiting for a crack, just download the latest Data.rsdk and use the 1.03.0831 (old) exe (cause certain code in the updated exe causes the previous crack to fail and prevent gameplay) file to play. There are no cracks for the latest exe. The only reason we want the new version (.exe and .rsdk) is so we can use the newer version of the modloader. Having the newer .rsdk with a new .exe doesn't mean anything for modders.

Well, you could only use data.rsdk to update the game without replacing the previous exe (due to some code was changed in the new exe to prevent the previous crack from working.)

Then why does mania mod loader keep saying I need a different version? And so many videos tell me to use the steam console to get an older version, but the sonic mania crack isn't connected to steam, so I can't use the console. If you know how to get mods, please help me.

I put the Crack folder's contents in the root folder as told, then it told me to get a DLL file and I put that in the root folder as well, and now it's telling me that the application "was unable to start correctly". Sorry, but what am I doing wrong here exactly?
just wanted to say that the strange crashing issue i had a while back was solved by rebooting my laptop. i haven't the slightest idea what causes it (and it rarely happens...usually) but sometimes something in my laptop decides to randomly break which results in a number of things happening. such as youtube's video player dying for no apparent reason. VLC Media Player dying for no apparent reason. and i guess that also affects games to... dunno why it happens or what the cause is but it just happens sometimes. maybe it's old age hitting this piece of junk computer, i dunno.

unzip > mount the ISO > install from ISO > copy/paste crack files from ISO to where you installed the game > enjoy you unzip the zip file you downloaded, the ISO is inside and doesn't need to be unzipped. you can use wincdemu: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ to mount said ISO.
So many people complaining of it not working... I don't know if they're dumb or have a super shitty PC. Tip: After you install the game, head to the installation folder, inside there there will be a folder called "_CommonRedist", just install what is inside there, and then copy the Crack to the game's folder, same when installing the Update. If that doesn't work, buy a new computer, format your system, or maybe you're just 100x dumb than usual and can't figure out how to copy & paste the crack correctly. I tested on Windows 10, I'm too lazy to test on other Syss. EDIT: If a random error is shown, might mean your computer is missing some DLL, just google it, should be super easy to find it.
Did try ejecting the disc (ISO), if that doesn't work install the stuff inside "_CommonRedist" , if it shows a random error, go google it, maybe your computer is missing some DLL

it saves like in sonic 3 & knuckles on the genesis. what this means is it auto-saves when you finish a zone (or was it each act? i forgot which). once you run out of lives and get a game over you have to replay the entire zone again. and once you beat the final zone (not the super insert character name here fight you reach with all chaos emeralds) your save file becomes a lvl select menu where the "up" and "down" arrows (or whatever you have them configured as)let you choose zones manually (again, just like sonic 3 & knuckles for the genesis). oh and here's a tip for act 2 of the titanic monarch zone at the end of the game (not spoiling anything btw): remember the order you fought the hard boiled heavies boss fights in. that is the correct path. ;)
That's the thing, i finish a zone and the spinning Sonic that indicates auto-save, doesn't show up. Once i finish one or two zones i check if it saved but it didn't. Thanks for the help though.
That's a good question. If you buy a game in a store and install it using a CD you will always need the CD to play it unless you crack it. These CDs have an autorun and the ones you download don't, so there's the need for a crack. Also, cracks are always getting updated too so it makes sense to keep it in it's own folder because if a new one comes out you shouldn't copy the older one and replace it if you can instantly copy the new one.

Assuming you have the system requirements checked, I would recommend uninstalling the game and run the setup as administrator with compatibility for Windows XP (service pack 3). Btw if you like this game you should check out Dead Cells. It will surprise you ;D
You didn't copy the crack to the game folder. Just open the IGG-Sonic.Mania.iso and copy the 3 files of the Crack folder to the folder where the game is installed. another even simpler option is wincdemu http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ it requires admin permission to use but it's as simple as... right-click the ISO > Select drive letter & mount (can just leave everything at the default setting and disc type as data disc) > click "ok" > and your ISO has been successfully mounted. to unmount said ISO you just right-click it (if your using windows 7 then it should be visible on the left side of the folder where it has desktop, libraries, computer, etc. listed) > eject.

it is present in windows vista as well. when you are running sonic mania in windowed mode just hold down alt and press enter. It will change to fullscreen.
you have to use the stuff in the crack folder to crack the game. cut everything from the "Crack" folder and put it into Local Disk/Program Files (x86)/Sonic Mania and you should be able to play the game.

here, i know the correct answer to these auto-save questions and it dates back to sonic 3 & knuckles for the sega genesis. the game does auto-save but only between zones. so if you're in hydrocity zone and finish act 1, the game still won't save until you finish act 2 and enter the next zone. they even copied that ancient auto-save system and stuck it in this modern...ish game.
let me try to fix it well i still cant play the game because the save mode in the game dosent work. it stays with the sonic auto-save logo but it dosent launch i did my best
Ok I solved the XAudio2 problem, the majority of the files on my System32 and SYSWOW64 was corrupted, so I deleted almost all the dll files on both folders and run the DirectX Web Installer, and problem solved.... Thanks everyone that tried to help me.

Go to the sonic mania folder in your Program files (x86) or wherever you run the game from. Right click SonicMania and make sure it always runs as Administrator. Should save.

Crucifix no CPY is the guy who cracks the denuvo games hes the one who cracked doom and everything else thats denuvo :) its his team that does it. :) Hope that helps
To actually answer your question. Those sites often use the name of legit cracking groups in an attempt to fool people into downloading their crap. CPY is legit so no worries there but stay away from any sites that use their name. You won't see the real CPY or any group making a site like that.

There's an text archive that gives me a link to a survey that's supposed to provide me with the password once i've completed it. However that's always a scam, even if you complete the survey, usually nothing happens...
i seem to have run into a problem. the game was working for most of this afternoon but now it goes unresponsive whenever i try to start it up. task manager says it has loaded exactly ~203,768k memory each time i try to launch the game and it goes from 20 to 0 CPU being used almost the instant the window appears. and yes, it's a black screen when i try to start it up. if the update can help then i'll get that later but for now the game has stopped working entirely.
Hello pepole! More doubts here... Nuble helped me when I asked about a way to play this game with a joystick instead of the keyboard. I tried X360ce without effect. Then I tried Xpadder 5.7. It worked fine... in other games than sonic mania. :/ What's wrong here? Could it be my Windows 10???

You have Daemon Tool in your window? (you should have it, because almost games need it to install). BTW, you still can extract .ISO with your winRAR if you want.
Yeah, the controller was the most convenient for the individual due to the structure of the console at the time. When you game on PC, anything can be convenient for the individual to use.

look... you need to delete the original SteamAPI and place the other one from the folder Crak ... but ... if in his name is wrote this (2) name it into the original steam_api.dll
Install the sonic mania setup .. after the setup finish go to the crack file and copy the files then go to main file for sonic mania you well find it in the programs file (86) then paste the crack and the game well work
Windows 10 doesn't allow anyone to put a .ini file in Programs Files folders. So I installed it in at %systemdrive%\Sonic Mania. Then I was able to put the CPY.ini file in it. All worked well. Remember to run game as admin every time so it can save your settings.
why would you unzip a game from this site to a folder in the Programs Files directory? just make a folder on your desktop or something and put the contents of the zip file in that.

Yeah it happened to me too. If you are using windows 10 try reinstalling Windows 10 if that doesn't work then downgrade your windows. I downgraded from win 10 to win 8 and I can now save the game
When I launch the game normally I go into the mode mania and when I choose a save it remains stuck on the loading logo if there is a solution other than to reinstall windows 10 its would be helping x)

Once you have Service Pack 1 installed, go to Sonic Mania's "_CommonRedist" folder, then to "vcredist". You should see "vc_redist.x64" and ""vc_redist.x86". Again, if your system is 32-bit, run vc_redist.x86. The other one is for 64-bit systems. The installation for either will be a failure if you don't have Service Pack 1, so download that first. You should be able to run Sonic Mania after successfully installing Microsoft C++ 2015. I had this problem myself and I managed to fix it like this.

Never Mind I Got It To Workd By Downloading Vcredists x86 or what was it and after that i got the steam api error and then i put all the files from the crack folder again to the game folder and then i was able to start playing

Sonic Mania is not compatible with the debug version of Windows that comes with the Windows SDK (if you don't know what that is, you won't have any problems with it - it is something only hardcore programmers would have).

Thank you for this awesome crack! I am so glad I waited! The game runs how it is supposed to and there hasn't been any lag or game crashes! In the 'original' version, I would be thinking I was travelling at top speed, but I couldn't have been, as tails' tails weren't going like propellers of a helicopter, like they would on the original trilogy, which I can assume was down to the lag that was caused by what they had implemented into the game!
Download Daemon tools 10 lite. Download Crack. Right click ISO file open with Daemon tools. Run the setup in the folder and then open the crack folder. Move all those files into the Sonic Mania folder.

If you got problems about .dll. I think you should use 3DPChip (Search on google, it's freeware), then donwload it, install. It will give you links to download all latest driver for your window. Download and install all latest driver, you will can run all games/software/programs/.. then :D (You will never get .dll problems in future)

After downloading the game and opening the Sonic Mania.iso file, and installing the game, copy all of the files from the Crack folder and paste them in the games folder. If you need anymore help, lemme know
This may be a setback to having the crack active. You're probably going to have to go into Options/Video and set stuff up every time you play. Sounds annoying, but please. It's a small price to pay. Edit: I can already confirm this does NOT affect Saves, however. The saves are unhindered by this fluke.

I didn't get an iso.... I got a ZIP.. file with no cracks in it the name's full unlocked. i downloaded before it got cracked. Do i have to download again?
the crack is inside the .iso image, to open your iso go to "my computer" and right click on the image where you mounted it. inside is a folder called "crack"
apply the crack from the iso image(to open the iso go to your pc and right click to open the iso then there is a folder called crack) copy the files from crack folder into the sonic mania folder.
Everyone here is a friendly reminder to back up the game to a USB stick or any external storage device in case Sega decides to crack down on these cracked sonic mania files and removes them all! back up now and don't regret later :>

Oh hey! If you are waiting for the the crack try playing ALL classic sonic games. Not only CD,1,2,3 and knuckles but the gamegear games too like sonic 1,2 and chaos. I also heard there are some tails games on the game gear. Or try getting the good endings on those games too if you haven't. I also play sonic 2 and 3&k co-op if you have a friend. Just be patient. i would buy the game but i started a new job and badly strained my shoulder because i was trying to keep up with everyone else because they refused to help me when i was only working there for 2 days which means i may lose my job meaning i have no way to get sonic mania besides waiting for the crack. also this is the game i've been waiting for ever since sonic 3 and knuckles so i'm way to hyped, then having to wait 2 weeks after they held the pc port back to put in denovu in the first place and then having everyone else spoil the game and now having to wait another week or 2 for the crack is very fucking frustrating.

If so, nobody here can really help beyond what the comments on the YT video tell you to do. That method would still give you Denuvo too, so if you're worried about that hold off until the game is cracked

You shouldn't try to download cracks from fake sites (like CPY, STEAMPUNKS, ..). They are the SCENE group, so they never have the site. The sites you can find on the internet, which are fake, they just same name as the scene group to trick users clicking on their sites, or installing software to track your PC. We will upload the crack as soon as possible (After this game got cracked). A few people have emailed me that they got viruses after downloading from fake websites. I'm fairly certain the file size suggests you're downloading the game files that the links on the site provided. Which are still just as uncracked as the ones in here.
On a side note, scanning it with malwarebytes didn't show anything either, so if you got it, it's pretty much harmless anyway, or at least in this one instance it is. But then again, if you have a good antivirus, it might catch whatever there is anyway.

Play some romhacks, i recommend Sonic Scorched Quest, there's also this other romhack that poses as a bad one but it changes alot when you reach the boss, but i forgot it's name, will edit the comment if i remember it. Edit: Sonic 1 Mega Hack: Ultra Edition, it's level design is uhhhh, not that great, but it's main thing is assembly programming, the bosses are one of the best bosses i've ever seen in romhacks, oh and you get through levels quickly, so it's not that much of a problem.
TBH I was going to buy the game but no 20 dollars is a waste of money plus being patient is a good thing so waiting is worth it a whole lot of money. I signed in JUST to comment on this whole "piracy" issue. This is both to educate, and inform those who are simply either too daft, or too ignorant to take facts at face value. Here's what's going on right here, right now: SEGA of Europe (supposedly, according to multiple sources I've heard from) is responsible for this PR move to sneak in Denuvo to Sonic Mania. Not just putting in, mind you, but actually sneaking it into the game. Not only that, it gets better. SEGA actively LIED about their bug-fixes excuse, saying it was all that was going on behind closed doors, and why the PC version was delayed to Aug. 29th, 2017. It's the 3rd of September now where I am, and there's still not even a glimmer of Denuvo's removal. A few other games have used Denuvo, and ended up removing it rather quickly. DOOM 2016 (from what I've heard anyways) even caved in on this whole thing, but ultimately had it removed due to whatever reason (probably horrible backlash from the fandom, similarly to us and Sonic Mania). Not only is it basically "legal malware" (I say that in quotations, because it crosses many red lines in terms of law), but the hysterical part is that it doesn't even really work. Yes, you can sit and argue that it's taken VERY long for Mania to be cracked, but it's probably already been cracked as I'm typing right now, and we're just not getting the link due to SEGA watching like hawks to slam it as soon as it's up. That's the issue here, folks. Denuvo's not really doing what it was supposed to do in the first place, and that was to prevent piracy. If anything, due to the malware nature of the program, it's actively hurting Mania's Steam Sales, and PROMOTING piracy without even trying to do so. You wanna blame that on every pirate of the interbutts? Think you're so hot and special when ya do? Go ahead, but almost anyone and everyone you know has pirated something online in some shape or form, be it movies, games, music, etc. Piracy exists, and Denuvo's not doing a damned thing about making it go away. Actually, it's making it even worse than it was before, doing the exact opposite of what it was originally put in to do. Anxiety decided this move, and SEGA's deeply suffering for it. They can act like it's not a big deal, but it actually is, considering their already trash salary checks. Finally, the WORST issue came from shady tactics in the form of the innocent Sonic 1, using Steam's exploits to make it so that, if you got Sonic Mania pre-ordered, and downloaded it upon it's release, guess what? Those people giving it negative reviews? The ones who are NOT PIRATES, because they damn well paid that 20$ for that game, that BELONGS to them? They're not "just complaining". They weren't even ALLOWED to refund their product. The Denuvo was one thing, but then this? The always online "glitch" that was spoke of was also just as shady as the Denuvo tactics and sneaky exploits concerning refunds, leading everyone to believe SEGA just actively tried to pirate "us", the consumers, as if it would somehow "teach us a lesson". No...Lelz. It didn't, actually. All it did was make their situation worse. They're a company, not a consumer. WE, are their consumers. THEY, are the company. Their JOB is to give us entertainment via selling a product, and instead, they played the system to snitch our cash. You may think that's no big deal, and if you do, well then...I say unto you; F**k you. 20$ doesn't SEEM like a whole lot, but it can be for a lot of folks with already horrid finances, just trying to make it day-to-day on their bills and being able to EAT properly, and to also medicate themselves. ALL of which comes first before some stupid, damn video game. So when these people DO finally get a chance to spend that precious 20$, and then SEGA pulls this? That's literally like taking candy from a baby, cept it's no longer just a joke. You're actually doing it. That's messed up, and you should be ashamed of yourself for consistently ridiculing anyone who gives Denuvo a bad rep, as well as SEGA themselves. This is probably the ONLY time (I sure hope so, anyways) that I will actively support everyone's decision to pirate this game, because a hefty chunk of them already BOUGHT the game, but want to actually OWN it. That's where this supposed "crack" comes in. You can pirate the game, sure, but there's also peeps who BUY the game, who NEED that crack, so that they may feel secure whenever the game's booted up, no longer being frightened of Denuvo "scanning them", like some sort inhumane, invasive robot. It's disgusting, and if you've played the game officially, and DON'T feel violated yet? You should be. The program's reputation is not only lackluster, but it also poses an active threat to anyone and everyone who downloads it. No matter WHAT game it is that contains it. I apologize for making you sit there and read all of this, but I believe it was time to educate people on what's really going on, since the ignorance has been slowly pissing me off every day. I seriously hope you've learned something from all of this, but if you haven't? Hey, guess what? It's YOUR PC that's in jeopardy, not ours. You wanna sit back and call us "filthy pirates", be my guest, because we'll have no shame in pirating a company that pirated from us first. The rules of the open seas-The internet. ahem. As a side note, to anyone wondering how long this crack's gonna take; It takes around a week by default for a Denuvo to be cracked. LiS got a day 1 crack due to Unity not pairing well with Denuvo from the 1st place, so LiS fans got lucky there. Anything else, will take at least a week at least, and month at most (though it MIGHT take longer. It fully depends on what this code's made out of). Patience...Patience is a virtue. Think about this: When the game's cracked, you're gonna HAVE it. For yourSELF. Not SEGA, not a Denuvo malware "spy", you, and ONLY you. And? We'll even get unofficial mod support! Think about that. We could see Hyper Sonic again! I'm stoked, and I'm fully willing to wait however long I need to for the crack to be made public. There's one more thing (I KNOW, I KNOW, CHILL OUT, I'M ALMOST DONE). If SEGA, by the grace of effing GOD actually removes Denuvo before it's even cracked? Guess what? I, and everyone who hasn't, needs to go and buy the game. Whitehead and his dudes are the absolute greatest, and deserve ALL the support possible for this truly remarkable Sonic game. If SEGA actually does, please...BUY it, will you? Don't be sour against it. It's not Whitehead's fault he had a bunch of asshole "suits" tell him what to do. He's just doing his job. Alright, I'm done now! I'm gonna stop torturing you with text.

TL;DR Don't buy and/or download Sonic Mania until a reliable crack is released. As soon as you see it, snatch it fast, because SEGA will probably take it down as soon as it's out. If it means anything; This has been hell for pretty much all involved. The fact we had to wait 2 weeks for a PC port (all for Denuvo, I'm sure), and now having to wait even longer for a crack to be made so it can be played safely. It's agonizing. Makes you wanna rage-quit. But we all gotta hang on together as Friends. If I may, if you haven't tried them yet, perhaps go and give Sonic: Before the Sequel and After the Sequel a try? They're fanmade games similar to Mania that take place before and after Sonic 2. Pretty solid, well-designed games, with their own unique soundtracks. They're also pretty CPU efficient. Could run them real well on a 4gig PC.
I know about them, I'm sure my PC could run them, I mean it runs SM4SH on Citra at 20 FPS. The only reason I'm waiting for this crack is because I don't have a credit card or any way to buy steam giftcards.
I agree I pre-ordered sonic mania on pc and was so excited I didn't know what denuvo was at the time But after downloading sonic mania my pc takes way longer to boot and just feels slower I have done nothing else and the pc is clean I suspect it to be Denuvo But Don't count on that
I concur, SEGA of Europe really sabotaged this game for a lot of people. From a business perspective, it was a bad move and... hell an easy mistake to avoid? I mean, come on lol. There are some really cheap laptops out right now which have a 64-bit processor and meet the recommended requirements, so please, go get yourself one of those, or change your processor if you're using a custom build.

pretty much all mods replace things in the data folder, so you can just take the data folder from the mod and copy paste it into your mania plus directory.
It only tells me that this version was not designed for mods. :/

Next, the game has to be run as an administrator. But then I had another problem, wherein the game opened with a dark screen and crashed. You need to install the files from the ''vcredist" folder. I also ran ''DXSETUP'' from the DirectX folder. After doing this, I ran the game as an administrator again and everything started working perfectly. I'm on Win 10 64-bit.

you unzip the zip file you downloaded, the ISO is inside and doesn't need to be unzipped. you can use wincdemu: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ to mount said ISO.

Tip: After you install the game, head to the installation folder, inside there there will be a folder called "_CommonRedist", just install what is inside there, and then copy the Crack to the game's folder, same when installing the Update.
If that doesn't work, buy a new computer, format your system, or maybe you're just 100x dumb than usual and can't figure out how to copy & paste the crack correctly.
I tested on Windows 10, I'm too lazy to test on other Syss.
EDIT: If a random error is shown, might mean your computer is missing some DLL, just google it, should be super easy to find it.

and once you beat the final zone (not the super insert character name here fight you reach with all chaos emeralds) your save file becomes a lvl select menu where the "up" and "down" arrows (or whatever you have them configured as)let you choose zones manually (again, just like sonic 3 & knuckles for the genesis).
oh and here's a tip for act 2 of the titanic monarch zone at the end of the game (not spoiling anything btw): remember the order you fought the hard boiled heavies boss fights in. that is the correct path. ;)

the game does auto-save but only between zones. so if you're in hydrocity
zone and finish act 1, the game still won't save until you finish act 2 and enter the next zone.
they even copied that ancient auto-save system and stuck it in this modern...ish game.

task manager says it has loaded exactly ~203,768k memory each time i try to launch the game and it goes from 20 to 0 CPU being used almost the instant the window appears. and yes, it's a black screen when i try to start it up.

If you are using windows 10 try reinstalling Windows 10 if that doesn't work then downgrade your windows.

If you have 64bit CPU, download BOTH 32 and 64 bit msvcp and put the 64bit one in system32 folder and 32bit one in SysWOW64 folder

you will have an ISO image, you have to mount it first then go to your PC and right click on the image that you mounted and then there is a folder called "crack" copy that folder to your desktop or wherever then go ahead and install sonic mania. Once you have done so then go into the sonic mania main folder and overwrite the files with the files from the crack folder.

It's more than a game
It's a story
A story of a fan who made rom hacks of the classic Sonic games for fun, then got hired by Sega to port said classic Sonic games to mobile, then was told to make a full on classic Sonic game in the 21st century.
When it was finally here, I have to wait 2 more weeks for the PC release while everyone is having fun and spoiling it.
And now I have to wait more for the crack, because I can't buy the game since in Argentina this shit is too expensive, and neither G2A or some web site (for Steam Argentina) have it yet.
So, please understand that I'm kinda impatient and upset to be waiting over and over.

SEGA of Europe (supposedly, according to multiple sources I've heard from) is responsible for this PR move to sneak in Denuvo to Sonic Mania. Not just putting in, mind you, but actually sneaking it into the game. Not only that, it gets better. SEGA actively LIED about their bug-fixes excuse, saying it was all that was going on behind closed doors, and why the PC version was delayed to Aug. 29th, 2017. It's the 3rd of September now where I am, and there's still not even a glimmer of Denuvo's removal.
A few other games have used Denuvo, and ended up removing it rather quickly. DOOM 2016 (from what I've heard anyways) even caved in on this whole thing, but ultimately had it removed due to whatever reason (probably horrible backlash from the fandom, similarly to us and Sonic Mania). Not only is it basically "legal malware" (I say that in quotations, because it crosses many red lines in terms of law), but the hysterical part is that it doesn't even really work.
Yes, you can sit and argue that it's taken VERY long for Mania to be cracked, but it's probably already been cracked as I'm typing right now, and we're just not getting the link due to SEGA watching like hawks to slam it as soon as it's up. That's the issue here, folks. Denuvo's not really doing what it was supposed to do in the first place, and that was to prevent piracy.
If anything, due to the malware nature of the program, it's actively hurting Mania's Steam Sales, and PROMOTING piracy without even trying to do so. You wanna blame that on every pirate of the interbutts? Think you're so hot and special when ya do? Go ahead, but almost anyone and everyone you know has pirated something online in some shape or form, be it movies, games, music, etc. Piracy exists, and Denuvo's not doing a damned thing about making it go away.
Actually, it's making it even worse than it was before, doing the exact opposite of what it was originally put in to do. Anxiety decided this move, and SEGA's deeply suffering for it. They can act like it's not a big deal, but it actually is, considering their already trash salary checks.
Finally, the WORST issue came from shady tactics in the form of the innocent Sonic 1, using Steam's exploits to make it so that, if you got Sonic Mania pre-ordered, and downloaded it upon it's release, guess what? Those people giving it negative reviews? The ones who are NOT PIRATES, because they damn well paid that 20$ for that game, that BELONGS to them? They're not "just complaining". They weren't even ALLOWED to refund their product. The Denuvo was one thing, but then this?
The always online "glitch" that was spoke of was also just as shady as the Denuvo tactics and sneaky exploits concerning refunds, leading everyone to believe SEGA just actively tried to pirate "us", the consumers, as if it would somehow "teach us a lesson". No...Lelz. It didn't, actually. All it did was make their situation worse. They're a company, not a consumer. WE, are their consumers. THEY, are the company. Their JOB is to give us entertainment via selling a product, and instead, they played the system to snitch our cash.
You may think that's no big deal, and if you do, well then...I say unto you; F**k you. 20$ doesn't SEEM like a whole lot, but it can be for a lot of folks with already horrid finances, just trying to make it day-to-day on their bills and being able to EAT properly, and to also medicate themselves. ALL of which comes first before some stupid, damn video game. So when these people DO finally get a chance to spend that precious 20$, and then SEGA pulls this?
That's literally like taking candy from a baby, cept it's no longer just a joke. You're actually doing it. That's messed up, and you should be ashamed of yourself for consistently ridiculing anyone who gives Denuvo a bad rep, as well as SEGA themselves. This is probably the ONLY time (I sure hope so, anyways) that I will actively support everyone's decision to pirate this game, because a hefty chunk of them already BOUGHT the game, but want to actually OWN it.
That's where this supposed "crack" comes in. You can pirate the game, sure, but there's also peeps who BUY the game, who NEED that crack, so that they may feel secure whenever the game's booted up, no longer being frightened of Denuvo "scanning them", like some sort inhumane, invasive robot. It's disgusting, and if you've played the game officially, and DON'T feel violated yet? You should be. The program's reputation is not only lackluster, but it also poses an active threat to anyone and everyone who downloads it. No matter WHAT game it is that contains it.
I apologize for making you sit there and read all of this, but I believe it was time to educate people on what's really going on, since the ignorance has been slowly pissing me off every day. I seriously hope you've learned something from all of this, but if you haven't? Hey, guess what? It's YOUR PC that's in jeopardy, not ours. You wanna sit back and call us "filthy pirates", be my guest, because we'll have no shame in pirating a company that pirated from us first. The rules of the open seas-The internet. ahem.
As a side note, to anyone wondering how long this crack's gonna take; It takes around a week by default for a Denuvo to be cracked. LiS got a day 1 crack due to Unity not pairing well with Denuvo from the 1st place, so LiS fans got lucky there. Anything else, will take at least a week at least, and month at most (though it MIGHT take longer. It fully depends on what this code's made out of). Patience...Patience is a virtue. Think about this: When the game's cracked, you're gonna HAVE it. For yourSELF. Not SEGA, not a Denuvo malware "spy", you, and ONLY you. And? We'll even get unofficial mod support! Think about that. We could see Hyper Sonic again! I'm stoked, and I'm fully willing to wait however long I need to for the crack to be made public.
There's one more thing (I KNOW, I KNOW, CHILL OUT, I'M ALMOST DONE). If SEGA, by the grace of effing GOD actually removes Denuvo before it's even cracked? Guess what? I, and everyone who hasn't, needs to go and buy the game. Whitehead and his dudes are the absolute greatest, and deserve ALL the support possible for this truly remarkable Sonic game. If SEGA actually does, please...BUY it, will you? Don't be sour against it. It's not Whitehead's fault he had a bunch of asshole "suits" tell him what to do. He's just doing his job. Alright, I'm done now! I'm gonna stop torturing you with text.
TL;DR Don't buy and/or download Sonic Mania until a reliable crack is released. As soon as you see it, snatch it fast, because SEGA will probably take it down as soon as it's out. Denuvo IS a threat to you, the consumer, so PLEASE don't blindly support it. Do so, and this will probably never happen again (we can hope...).
If I may, if you haven't tried them yet, perhaps go and give Sonic: Before the Sequel and After the Sequel a try? They're fanmade games similar to Mania that take place before and after Sonic 2. Pretty solid, well-designed games, with their own unique soundtracks. They're also pretty CPU efficient. Could run them real well on a 4gig PC.
