I really trust this site but the simplex file you get to download the game is listed as a trojan by 35 out of 72 anti virus programs in virustotal.I use this site all the time and you should too but for this specific game you might wanna proceed with caution.Dont just take my word for it though,look into it yourself.
that is the windows 10 quarantine, just go search security,then go to protection history. you will find it listed there,press more actions and then allow.It should let you run it now.

Whenever i start up launcher.exe it doesn't open the application, instead a message pops up saying,"Unable to launch game. Make sure the 'Target' and 'StartIn' folder point to correct path and folder." I do not know how to fix this.
how do i get this to work? i downloaded the orginal and it works fine, but when i download the dlc it keeps trying to open steam. am i missing something?
ok i think i've found the solution. try overwriting your original file with the updated one. and you should run the launcer or launcer_64 to get it work. i tried running the west of loathing.exe and it still open steam. so, just open the launcer.exe hope this helps
What you see are many different "download hosts" that have the same files to offer. I usually go with google drive, but maybe another host gives you a fatser download... only trys can tell.
My game just crushes all the time. I haven't even played for 10 minutes and it has crushed over 20 times (almost)! It doesn't even say why. It just shows "West of Loathing.exe has stopped working". It shows nothing else! And now that crush happens every time I open the game, almost 5 seconds after I open it, and no matter what I do, it just crushes.
It gives me the following error : Failed to initialize Direct3D. Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0c installed, have drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed
Closes as soon as it opens. Tried to open it with Launcher(x64 too) but it says "The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP100.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem" Edit: I tried all this with av and firewall disabled too
Further More if you do not have winrar you can download it in the software section of this website and i think to launch its the LAUNCHER 32 or 64 once you have extracted the files.
You'll have find the RAR file. It's called West.of.Loathing.v1.01 search for it or try to find it in downloads
After that you'll need a program like winrar, winzip, 7zip, etc. If you don't have something like that, download it. I'd recomend 7zip since it's free.
Extract the file using the program
After it's done extracting, open the file "West.of.Loathing.v1.01"
Click on the black badge icon titled "West of Loathing" and the game should start!
I second Bot-Matt's question but am turning it into a request. Or if there are any knowledgeable, kind and compassionate IGG-Gamers here who has a work around to make it run on 32-bit (x86) version of Windows, It would be gratefully appreciated! :)
Ive requested many many times for igg-games to just copy the 32bit files for games i know have them and sadly i was told no! that 32bit computers are over 10 years old and i need to get a new computer cause they arent going to waste time on 32bit files because there just isnt enough request for them. Ive had to go to russian sites to get some 32bit files igg refused to copy onto their site. the russians seem to have way more 32bit computers i dont know why but they seem to have them alot just need to use translation program to see what is written! i hope igg changes but after 4 years of asking i just wanted to let you know what my exerience was so dont hold your breath!

This ^^. I have a hard time believing that 32-bit PCs are so ancient now that the requirement for a 64-bit processor wouldn't even show up in the System Requirements, so it seems like a 32-bit version should be out there...
or i can play with y friend over internet??
