Okay, lots of you have issues so I decided to write how I installed and patched this game.
Open the control panel and go to region and languages. Change your location to 'japan'.
Open the administration tab and find the -non unicode- programs. Set it to 'Japanese'. Then, go to 'formats' and make 'Japan' too. Your computer should reboot.
Unzip game, you should see iso file 'AGDISC1'.
Using mounting tool run iso file (I used Deamon tools), open setup and install the game.
Open the game just to see if it works. If it does congrats - now you only need to add the english patch!
Go to your installation directory (something like C:\Program Files (x86)\honeybee\あやかしごはん) and copy the original Rio.arc, Rio+.arc and Chip.arc in that directory to somewhere safe. These are for backup just in case something goes wrong.
Go to english patch folder, unzip 'chip arc'.
Take unziped 'chip' file and put it in game file, use replace option.
This is works 04/04/2022. It was very confusing but i could do it. I really dont get article 6, because we downloading it but never touching that again. But anyway it works so only it that matter.
And please someone can shoot all of guys walkthrough and upload on youtube. There is no single walkthrough about this game (ofc im talking about english walktrough). 2 years later when i wanna replay this game, i dont wanna do all of this work i just wanna see youtube videos. Please someone make ittt :(((
tried running in compatibility mode for Win7 and Win 8, but I can't get past the DirectDraw error T_T just on this game, similar JVN games are not having this issue
Update: I've changed to Japanese region language thing so the words can now be understood although Japanese. Now, I'm trying to do the setup.exe but it won't work, I don't know, I don't get Japanese....
HELP ME! I already have replaced file chip.arc by file chip.arc in English Patch, but it doesn't work, I just see Japanese! Could anyone show me how to install the English Patch??
Hey yall so if you downloaded the game and click on the ayakashigohan file in the CD only to get something that google translates to "Registry Error", remember to click on "setup" and finish the setup!! thats how i got my game to actually run
I'm not sure if this would work for everyone, but after a few days of struggling to get the game to successfully work, I found something that made it finally work for me!
Right click on the "setup.exe" file, go to "Locale Emulator", and select "Run in Japanese" (NOTE: The characters should be in Japanese now instead of the random symbols it would show when not run with Locale Emulator)
Once the game is finished installing, right click on the "ayakashigohan.exe" file (located in the folder where the game was installed) and run the game in Japanese using Locale Emulator with the same procedure as Step 3 NOTE: Don't forget to put the English patch in the game folder! (link: https://hanatabatranslation.wordpress.com/2017/04/15/the-full-patch-is-here/) The game should be able to run successfully using Locale Emulator without having to change the Region and/or System Locale. I also read somewhere that if you don't want to use Locale Emulator, you can just change the Region and/or System Locale (I forgot which, but do both just in case) to Japan BEFORE running the setup of the game and it should work fine. I didn't try this method, but if you do and it works, let me know! Hope this helps!
if i try to play it through hanataba, i don't have cv210.dll (even though i tried downloading it online) so i can't if i try to play it through here, i don't have a blank recordable disc so i can't sigh
Don't know if it will really solve your problem 'cause i haven't experienced it but sometimes this kinda thing happens because you don't have Microsoft Visual CC+ installed on your pc or laptop, so you could try downloading and installing one of these (2010 version or a newer one) https://support.microsoft.com/es-es/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

The romanceable characters available depend on the main character's personality: introverted = human path (Haginosuke, Uta & Suou) or extroverted = ayakashi path (Yomi, Manatsu & Asagi) the beginning of each path has events for each of the three romanceable routes of the path you 'chose' (you chose this path with the choices you made when she came to Momiji Village for the first time as a kid). Hi! I did everythig as instructions stated but I still cannot run the game. I have my system re-located to Japan too. I tried to re-install it all twice already and it still doesn’t work. I'm so hopeless installing it, like, everytime i tried its always said error. i tried so many times follow the instruction from fellow gamer, already install it, but it still gave an error screen. when i tried to uninstall it, it wont budge. i dunno how hard i tried, it wont uninstall. then i feel like "mkay i need to mving on" and forget it. suddenly the game installed properly, and I'm so speechless "wow i didn't see that coming". and i tried for the last hope open the game, IT WORKS. so childish i am lol. but thanks for the instruction below me :)
I had no problems installing? You just have to mount the disc image (AGDISC1) and click on the drive it mounts onto. Then scroll through the files and click on "setup" to install the game onto your computer (and make sure you have direct x). Then you just gotta extract the rar files for the english patch and copy/paste them into the game folder. (Igg only gives us the chip.arc which only translates the main menu so you have to go here to download the rio.arc and rio+.arc to get the actual translations for the story: https://hanatabatranslation.wordpress.com/2017/04/15/the-full-patch-is-here/)

Hmm.... I'm just going to take a guess here and say you didn't change your system locale to Japanese yet which is why the error message is unreadable. I'm not sure if this will work but you should
unmount the game
uninstall the game (just go to your control panel to uninstall it. Should be pretty easy to find since you can probably spot the icon for the game).
Did you download the rio.arc and rio+.arc yet? I'll give you the direct link to the patch in case you didn't.(http://www.mediafire.com/file/82g6oz36jkwe7lw/%5BHT%5D+AG+patch+v1.5.rar) All you have to do is copy those files and paste them into the game folder! (please keep in mind that only the main menu and story were translated. The settings that first appear before you start the game and the configuration options in the main menu will still be in japanese even though you added the english patch into the game)

Did you install the game in a different folder rather than the default honeybee folder? even if you didn't change the destination, I think it's still worth a shot to try uninstalling and then re-installing the game to the default folder they give you. (You can access the default file destination by clicking through your "Program Files(x86)" and clicking on the folder "honeybee")
