when I paste the first fix you mentioned, as soon as I enter the game, I get an error telling me my save files are from a different version and that I need to downgrade or something. I tried to delete the save files and it did let me to enter the main menu, but when I try to start a new game, the game crashes while loading it.
the steam fix you mentioned later doesn't let me host the multiplayer,
updated not really worth it since this game the same pattern and no additional story, just a few updates on new skin for the gun and zombies. its been 2 years waiting for SoD3. I hope some will be released this year and get a crack.
37.1 update is literally unplayable unless you are really lucky and got the blessing from all of the RNG GODS.......the curveball bug makes it impossible to play due to instant CTD on load save...wait till hotfix 37.2
Hold on I know what you're talking about, this has been happening ever since the curveball update. I lost a Late game community because of this weird bug were the game crashes after I load in and get a community mission.

Is it just me or do the updates refuse to install, starting with 27? I download the original CODEX version of the game, and every time I try to update it gets an error and cancels, and then I have to uninstall and reinstall the game to try again, and it does the same error. Just wanted to let you know I ran into this same exact problem. After deleting the game, the solution for me was to make sure "Copy contents to CODEX directory" is Unchecked while installing the base game as well as each sequential update, only checking the box on the final update.
Sounds like the crack wasn't applied properly. The game shouldn't be trying to go online if it's cracked. Did you check the box "Copy contents to CODEX directory" on the last update?
Otherwise you can simply do it manually by going to the CODEX folder you downloaded, then copy and paste the contents of that folder into where you installed the game. Be sure to replace files if it asks you.
If anyone here is running into the problem of getting a Steam error, asking for a valid license, just block the main executable file with a firewall - so the game doesn't try to "phone home".
Also, make sure you're not running the game from Windows protected folders (like "Program Files"). Use a different drive or partition, if possible.
Bottom-line, as of 2024-08-17 (v37.1) the game was tested, and is working.
Any one who finds the game easy there are mods where just a single bite kills like the walking dead. At night the dead become faster and much harder to kill. I accidently installed them a few weeks ago and ended up losing half my team in under 5 min once i adjusted to the brutal difficulty. I started to really like it. I had a nightmare zombies were chasing me all from this game that made it far more life like. I normally like easier games but i have to admit the mods make this game way better!
When I try run a campaign it loads for about 1 mins then it crashes. No crash screen or error screen. I don't click anything and I let the game run but it still crashes. I have multiplayer off.
They changed this game so much! It's not like it was when it 1st came out I played on normal as soon as a blood infected bites you, you die instantly you used to have time all the time improving characters then one bite and they are gone with the weeks it took to improve them i hate it now even on easy they die too they need to give players time to at least get a cure or to even take the cure i died with 2 vials of cure in my pocket! I sent another guy out and all my stuff that was on the infected character GONE! Vanished now they used to just drop it or they remained on the actual character but they changed that too I really hate the new changes they made to this game they ruined this game it used to be one of my favorite games. I tried to use a trainer to help but it doesnt matter when they bite you all gear is gone along with your character. I'm going to look for mods to make it go back to the old game play or make it where you have time to find a cure not die instantly!
Looks like some mods activated where just a single bite kills instantly. They made the game really brutal. another doubled the amount of zombies on screen. I was wondering how the game got so difficult but now i really like the challenge! It makes getting blood plague useless.The game feels like a real zombie survival now. I just wish i could have saved my best character a split second slip and she got bitten like watching the walking dead when one of the lesser characters gets careless.
Go into your sod2 iso file, find a folder named support. In there you'll find a folder named "Gaming_Services". Inside this folder there is a package file"Microsoft.GamingServices_....". Run that and you should be fine.
I ran the uninstallation file and it deleted my entire documents drive. 200gb of data completely gone. Work, school, other games, literally everything just disappeared into thin air. Funny thing is, the only files left over were the state of decay files :)
I dont understand why they put single updates for last time when i installed update 28 it didnt work i had to delete everything and install main game then each update to 28 now with update 29 same thing! I tried to just install update 29 it keeps failing 3 times now so i delete the entire game file reinstall main game then update each update to update 29. Not sure why but this happens with all IGG-games updates they might as well just release the entire game already updated to save us time. I know a few people who get the updates to work if it did work for me then it would be a lot faster. This is very frustrating i dont get why i have to keep installing the whole game???????

For anyone who experience this after changing the resolution, go to %AppData%\Local\StateOfDecay2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor change your GameUserSettings.ini to default setting. always change this in case you have to lower or higher the resolution
You can't play pirated games on official servers and even if you could, every time theres a minor, tiny update that is not even worth releasing a cracked version the game would no longer be compatible to the servers and to other players versions until a major update is released that is worth cracking and updating.
This goes for almost ALL multiplayer games and its been this way for years

I see some have the same issue I have with the one exe file doing nothing and the other launching the steam store page, but I see no resolution to this issue. There is no crack files or installer so I assume it's a cracked all-in-one, but it simply doesn't work.
There was a codex installer. In order to apply the crack if you did not do so already through the installer, you have to open the .rar or .zip file in the install when you extracted it. then open the folder named "CODEX" and drag and drop the two folders in that folder to the S.O.D directory. If you need a more in depth fix, just say the word ;)
Hi, I kinda don't know how to launch this game, I normally don't have problems with anything, but, when I open the folder and click on StateOfDecay2, it does nothing. When I open StateOfDecay2 folder, then binaries and Win64 there's StateOfDecay2-Win64-Shipping, when I click on this, it sends me to steam to buy it, so there's no crack ? or setup or anything ?
Anyone has the same problem? The game runs smoothly after 2 days or so. Then, my game keep freezing in the area I'm in today... I started a new game but same problem keep bugging me.. At first, I thought it was my laptop that froze then I realized it was the game because I can still close it using Task Manager. I decided to re-download the whole game now. NVM Tip: Extract all the parts at the same time. Mark all 4 parts then click extract files. Beacuase extracting them one and one didn't work for me started showing some errors.

Hi Guys! Need a lil help! How can I change profile from Codex to my Xbox one? I tried reinstalling the Game but I am still showing as Codex. :( Cant seem to play multiplayer because of it.
It should look like this. Be sure to apply v19 to connect to other v19 players if there's an update 20, just apply the crack and move those 3 files again to new folder or delete it. PS: those 3 files are essential for the game to work in offline mode if you lost your connection.
The dlls are codex64.dll, vcruntime140.cdx and vcruntime140.dll. Just move them to a new folder away from the main .exe file but keep the StateOfDecay2-Win64-Shipping.cdx file inorder for the crack exe to work.
let's wait for update 20, only can be online with fellow v19 users. . . u can still try by moving those crack dll to a new folder away from the bin folders then make a fake microsoft account, enable game overlay ang login with it. once in the main menu if it's still codex just switch users and login the fake account.

I even thought the game download is actually already update v19 just because it said it in the title. The torrent file does not have the crack files, cannot run the game. It just takes me to the game's store page on steam when executing the launcher. Please fix
well i just give up and buyed it from steam updated to 18.1, was cheap even on our currency and i think i will play for a lot more so...anyway, works flawles, even the "damaged" savegame load perfectly.
Same. I had played through a whole 2 runs before I started a third community and got about an hour or two in and did a trader mission to get a valuable item only for it to crash. I was like "huh, that's new." So I started it again and a few minutes in it closed again. I wanted to try once more before investigating and this time it didn't even let me get into the community. Then I remembered that people were having crashes since the green update and it all made sense. Indeed though we're gonna need that 18.1 update. I'll try to ask for it in the request section.
Did you mean it broke a save from an older version, or does saving just not work at all? I'm installing this for the first time, so as long as I can still save, I'll update to 18.
it doesnt open v17 games anymore, at least happend to me. I started a new game again with new survivors and after 2 in game days it CTD and again didnt open the savegame, so even with a fresh start doesnt work. With v17 i got a group surviving 36 days! without a single problem... poor desiree... 1400 zombies killed and counting.. hope to recover her XD. Forgot to mention, happend when the game saves.
I actually ended up trying it anyway and played for about a half hour before saving to see if it would work, and when I loaded the game back up, my save was there. I even checked the settings to make sure I correctly updated to v18, and I did. So saving should work with a fresh install and new game. But I know how you feel about losing a good saved game. It sucks when an update fucks it up.
There's a folder named "Codex" if I remember correctly. Go into there and copy those files into the main game ones. If you updated to the current updates, the updates should also have a codex folder so you can just do it with one of those folders too. Most times the "crack" folder won't be named that. It'll be named after the group that cracked it. In this case it was Codex, so that's where the crack files should be. they should look the same as some of the main game files, like an .exe and other files.
