Cara eu consegui!
português para quem estiver com problema da OpenAL32.dll é so baixar no site https://www.dll-files.com/openal32.dll.html de acordo com a sua versão do windowns e depois so colocar na pasta do jogo fé inglês for those who have problems with OpenAL32.dll, just download it at https://www.dll-files.com/openal32.dll.html according to your version of windowns and then just put it in the game folder
can someone help me please, i have this error "The code execution cannot proceed because OpenAL32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem"
i found a solution https://youtu.be/qsJiJeU-I0w for me was a dll with wrong architecture, it was x86 and not x64 and then i downloaded the dll, put inside system32 and sysWOW64 and the game work for me
it will be red on what(dll or other thing, like architecture) is wrong, so you go to your favorite dll website and download it and put in system32 and sysWOW64
no, you need to install the directx and visualc ++(32bit and 64bit) and openal, and then restart the pc and check what dll is missing or wrong, then go to a website and download the dll
Is anyone else having problem with google drive? My not refuses to download through it, I even tried to download other games, the strange thing is that, I always used it to download games here, my PC is working fine.
I get an error when I try to launch the game it says "The code execution cannot proceed because OpenAL32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem" Any help fixing this?
As mentioned in the parent post. We do have a demo, 25% of the game, roughly 30hours of game play for free on our website, http://www.gearcity.info. It's kept to date for every major version and we have Linux and Mac ports as well. (In fact, this has been available for about 3 years now.)
Understandable. I am not condemning you for pirating it. As I said I've been there... I'm just reminding you that if you enjoy the game and want to see continued development or more games like it, you should buy a copy when you are able to do so. We're not a large company like Ubisoft. It's a one man title. When I can make more money scrubbing toilets for minimum wage, that seriously harms the chance of future games. ;) So if you hate the game, no harm no foul. I would have never sold a copy to you anyway. If you love the game and you find your self playing it for hours, just remember, it's a two way street, I can't keep making video games like this for $2/hr while living in the US.
Hey guys, Just want to give you a heads up, GearCity was developed by me. And I subcontract 3d models to an Ukrainian artist. GC has taken me 6 years of programming to get to this point. 5 years of which were full time. The last year and a half of Early Access has netted me roughly 2 years worth of minimum wage profits. (Think flipping burgers.) So that's what? $270,000 worth of unpaid work for $40,000 worth of income? Ouch... I won't condemn you for pirating the game (I've been there before in my youth.) But if you enjoy GC and would like to see us continue development, or better yet, like to see more games like this in the future. Be sure to throw us a few bones when you have a few to spare. It does really go a long way for us Indies... Thanks for reading! Eric.B EDIT: Forgot to mention, you can find 25% of the game for free, no restrictions other than game years, on our site: http://www.gearcity.info It's kept up to date with all major version releases and we've also got Linux and Mac ports there as well.
Thank you for going out of your way to put this here, will try out your demo instead. I don't have the money to contribute buying the game yet, but I will surely let my friends who might like it know about it. Hope these last 4 years have been good on you and your game's development. Stay an awesome dev.
Be sure to nab it from Steam, as it's 2 versions ahead of the demo on the official site and a year ahead of this rip. (Although the version on the official site has longer gameplay. If you like the one on Steam, download the one on the official site before I update it to the latest build. The one on Steam has a lot more tutorials.) Thanks for the kind words. The game did fairly well early, but Steam Direct flooding the market has been a major hit to the lower-middle tier indie developers like me. After full release in a few months, I'll be moving to a crowd funded bounty system to continue development. I have one major project after GC that I have committed to, but after that I'll most likely be getting out of the gaming industry. (Unless bounty systems prove to be a good way to go, in which case, I'll make FOSS games with that funding model.)
Tried out the game, it is quite complex and has a lot of depth even with just a few years of gameplay on demo. (The demo feels so short as you get used to things though that might be because I did get the version from steam.) I hope that when the game goes out of early access you manage to do well on the sales. The game itself is great and has a lot of depth. I should be buying it at Christmas. Until then though I'll be attempting to contribute a bit to the Portuguese translation community. Thanks for the fun game, I am sure it will give me more than hundreds of hours of fun. A suggestion though, that I don't know if it is a feature I missed or anything. It'd be nice if a warning popped up when we attempt to make an engine with more torque than our best gearbox can handle. If it is already in there though, I missed it and will be sure to pay more attention from now on.
It'll be updated in about 2 weeks. I'm currently doing a bunch of additional bug fixes to stabilize 1.20. I can only update the Beta/Demo once per every major version because it's a lot of work. It takes up almost a full day. So I would like to make sure it's more bullet proof this time than the 1.19 demo was.
6 Years? no wonder why the in-game dashboard kinda like old school (no offense), just don't give up dude, minds that microsoft got bigger coz of the pirates that help their marketing around the world :Lol, Im a game-dev too btw
i understand your 'anger'. but as someone already said below, some people dont have the money to buy the game :( do i cant find the 25% off your talking about
There is no 'anger' here. I'm just pointing out the plight of a niche market indie developer. ;) I didn't mention a 25%-off, I did say we offer a demo of the game. Go to http://www.gearcity.info on the right hand side it says "Or click here to try the demo" it's under the Steam banner. If you're looking for the game on sale, I believe humble bundle has it for $12 right now: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/p/gearcity_storefront I've seen it for as low as $5 on some key vendors in the past.
any solution
My game gets a black screen and then closes on its own
