I was eagerly waiting for this game. If you like light tactics, or rather tug-of-war games, you'll enjoy this. Although this is in Early Access, I remember there being demos and closed alphas; so it is probably decent and playable at current state. I'm hoping and predicting a "Wargroove" level of success when it moves to 1.0 version.
It's apparently a variation of tower defense genre, since you cannot control your units, right? Wargroove is great, the best alternative to Advance Wars on PC. (besides playing Advance Wars with emulators he he)
You are correct. You spawn your units and wish them good luck 😄 And to be clear, my comparison to Wargroove wasn't meant to be in mechanics, but rather in 'brining a retro genre back to life' especially in indie scenes. Coincidentally there was a similar game on Sega Genesis called "General Chaos" which I loved and played a ton back in the day. Oh, and yes, Advance Wars on emulators. Sweet times. Also, the Langrisser series on emulators. Been a fan of them for decades.
Key Fetures: Focus on the big picture; no complex micro Each round lasts between 10-20 minutes Easy to learn, hard to master Buy the game – you get the game No microtransactions No pay to win Randomly generated battles Different each time you play Lots of replayability Choose complementary unit synergies Infinite strategic combinations Fully unlockable upgrade tree Spawn infantry, vehicles, airplanes and helicopters Call down air strikes, missile attacks and artillery Units take cover and respond intelligently to their situation Everything explodes!
