Cute. Everybody keeps saying RPG maker, but I like the idea that JRPG can be like a typewriter or the old world processors. Just a platform or tool for you to tell a creative story.
RPG with isometric graphic style: Everyone thinks "RPG Maker" Whats up with you? RPGs of that kind (outside Japan) exist since the 80`s, many years before RPG Maker even came out of Japan (1997)...but yeah.
No, we don't say "RPG Maker" because it's "isometric". (actually, it's not isometric) It's because we recognize the style, the combat scenes, the UI, and more or less every little mechanic in the game which is usually commonly seen in most RPG maker games. I've played dozens of such games so I can recognize little details I've seen everywhere else. Actually, in the 80s/90s, most RPGs looked and played differently. But yeah it's perfectly possible this game was made with another engine. It's not too important anyway.
This game looks too good for RPG-Maker, so I'm interested, if the story and gameplay are any good. I think the problem is, that the market is getting spammed with bad RPG-Maker games. They actually chop away on the classics' charm and nostalgia because at some point you simply can't see the same tile based graphics anymore. Like pixelart getting overused by too many copycats and their games of questionable quality and originality. Or look at all these games lately that take the style of Darkest Dungeon. Funny thing is, that even in the '90s many JRPGs were graphically more advanced then most RPG-Maker games. When I dabbled in RPG-Maker, pre-made games where harder to come by and you had to go to dedicated sites to download them. Now they are everywhere and people think they can make quick bucks off them.
The only RPGM game i actually enjoyed was Always Sometimes Monsters, and Snares of Ruin. But neither of those were actual RPGs, with levels and such, more just well-written adventure games in the RPGM engine. I mention this because I feel the RPGM engine held those games back from a greater potential. So I ask clearly, is this game any good? Some of the comments below say it's pretty decent, but I only played Suikoden 3 for the PS2 a decade and a half ago. Are the GUI elements the same as every other shovelware RPGM game? Is the plot compelling at least? Are the mechanics super grindy? Are there adventure mechanics?
I believe this game isn't made with RPGM. However, being made with RPGM doesn't mean the game potential is hold back. By default, RPGM offers turn based mechanic like Final Fantasy it easy to work around and change the system with the scripts you made, or from free online source in their forum (there are a lot of scripts tbh). Bad RPGM usually looks like a cheap rip off of Final Fantasy because of the devs, not because of the engine. For about this game, it is good. It is not grindy if you know what you are doing. The plot is very great as well. Just imagine it likes any RPG you play around 2003 - 2005. You won't be disappointed. Btw, there are many good RPGM games out there. If you want narative games like Always Sometimes Monster, you should try Rakuen or To The Moon/Finding Paradise (both was made by the person making OST for Plants vs Zombies). For Action, Eternal Senia and Doom & Destiny may suprise you. Horror games like Corspe Party or Misao are actually very good as well. Have a good day.
All I can say is : Wow. I'm usually a sucker for RPGmaker games, but I also never feel impressed. (Edit : I'm actually not sure this was made with RPGMaker) They're just one of my favorite "time-wasters", and I find them relaxing because they use very simple well-known mechanics. But this one... Somebody in the comments mentioned Suikoden 2 for the art style, but I think it's not just the art. In general, this RPG feels like the best RPGs from the 90s on PS1 and Sega Saturn. It's definitely a keeper. The production is a completely different level than most RPGmaker games. I'm enjoying it even more than "https://igg-games.com/cosmic-star-775214131-heroine-free-download.html", which was sometimes compared to Chrono Trigger.(although I kinda disagree, but I still highly recommend it) I also like Kemco RPGs(hey, stop throwing rocks at my head!), but this one feels superior in every way possible. I'm only worried that in some parts, the dialogues are a bit long, maybe? (although not as long as Kemco games) I need to play longer, but so far, one of the best (I don't know how to call this specific type of RPG. Can we say "JRPG" if it wasn't made by Japanese? ha ha) RPGs I've played since a long time.
... I don't think so ... the base looks like RPGMaker, it seems the circle create self made original System, but with RPGMaker as design (which is why it feels like RPGMaker MV, but it is NOT)... BTW, there are 2-3 H games with RPGMaker MV with this close design but not same ...
for anyone that likes suikoden 2 the art style an textures look like that. i think the story has too many characters. hoping they get weeded out starting with 6 character party from the start is abit much..
The first game in the series had six characters from start to finish and it worked quite well. Sure, not everyone got equal air time, but this isn't a AAA company either.
anyone freeze after defeating the first thief at the bar? i've played the first f ight using the two knight, then there's an introduction movie, then this, the exact place i got freeze :( any sugestion??
after some research it's turns out that this is a bug, they fix it 3 days after this game cracked when the game is out, they has been update this game 6 times in 3 days lately and this crack version will be verry buggy as you can see it happened to you. So, it'll be good idea to play the other character or hopping for the cracked patch is comes out or buy the game, that's it. bugfix changelog https://steamcommunity.com/app/684700/discussions/0/2247803885912347331/ . Dont need to think about that anymore, have a nice day.
you make your choice where it counts. haven't played the game so i don't know what that actually translates into but sometimes choices are not choices at all
indeed they can do better on the art, but as long the gameplay is good im down to it. but looks like ppl enjoying this game, so... added to my wishlist.
It's not always a bad thing. Most of those bad reviews on Steam can all be summarized as "This game is not what I expect. It sucks!". With crack, people get a chance to try the game before making a purchase to avoid wasting money and then trashing the game.
basic steam drm most probably, doesn't stand a chance, only AA and above usually take a long time to crack unless some witty indie comes up with a personal solution and even then it's just a matter of time...
