Can anyone explain how this works? I opened the server launcher and clicked "start server". Nothing else popped up. What else am i suppose to click to actually start the game?
turns out I had to disable a couple of options under SETTINGS >> COMPATABILITY there you can uncheck options according to your CPU (I believe) game seems to run, now update would still be cool ;-)
I was able to run the game by starting wurmserverlauncher, then starting wurmlauncher and hitting "connect by IP." I would really like to try this on an online server, but WRC doesn't seem to be working anymore. Anyone have any ideas?
for those having trouble getting the server to appear in the LAN list: solved it! the IP number related info in the instructions listed here is actually incorrect. (found a setup tutorial on youtube that clarified that part). video in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geMDsMxfuIU what you actually need to do instead of steps 6 & 7 of the instructions here is (this is for windows mind you) press "windows key + R" then type cmd. in the next box type ipconfig. next, scroll up and find your IP Address number (not the default gateway number) and put THAT number in both the external AND internal IP number fields in the Wurm Unlimited Server's Local Server tab. after that's all done, you should be able to do as i did and start your server and there it is in the LAN list (after refreshing the list of course).
copy LAUNCHER.exe, SmartSteamEmu.dll, SmartSteamEmu.ini, SmartSteamEmu64.dll, steam_api64.dll, steam_appid.txt into IGG-Wurm.Unlimited\WurmServerLauncher After that the server will start without having steam open... In order to stop client from hanging on connectiong to server you need to enter the password its "lolnee" or change it in "Local Server" tab under "server settings"
oh wow, a full version standalone version of this game? you know, i tried the normal MMORPG version of this game before but...it wasn't really my kind of thing overall. single player sandbox gaming is more my style. (that and i can't afford to pay any MMO subscriptions and stuff since i'm already using gamefly) i'll have to try this out.
Hello!! when a try to create my own server, it dont works...i did exactly what the site say to do, but nothing happens..the server do not appear in LAN tab ://
I also tried this and could not get it to work. The client is not seeing the server... which is running in background, even though the settings and instructions are correct. Requesting an update.
Does it actually work or not? Can anyone confirm this? Seems like a neat game to have in full version (played Wurm online years ago, but only on the free island).
same here; it says "could not start server incoming rmi is disabled"; i set the corresponding value in wurm.ini to true, opened the ports 7220 and 7221 in firewall; no changes
When trying to host server, after putting 0.0.0.0 on external and 127.0.0.1 on internal, saving and trying to start, the windows prompt window show something and "stopping server" for a second and closes. When I try to open it again it is back to my original IP. Any help?
When i stop playing a server, then play again, it says to try under a different name. I cant play my own server with the same character twice. What am I doing wrong?
