This game is in fact Good! Don't expect top of the line turn based combat It's all about the Role Playing and the development of a single run.
If you're a darkest dungeon fan or a hardcore gamer I suggest you start at walking lunch difficulty or at least the one below that and enable the carved in stone functionality.
It would tell a great story of Heroes, Legends and ,sacrifices. The game did a great job of immersing you into its world building and your adventures.
I had downloaded this to try to see what all the hype was and I am just left speechless and in awe of what this game does and how it presents it. One of my characters made a mistake of touching a mana shrine and is now permanently blue, and another lost her eye in an explosion ... and these features carry out throughout the game. Your characters age and can die. You feel connected after seeing your character go from wielding a frying pan to armor and a giant sword while having influenced the choices along the way to get to that point in the game. In between battles/parts of the story are little art slides, and as the game progresses your characters show the armor they've obtained from battles in these art slides and it is one of the most impressive things I've seen. It adds a lot seeing the customized characters stand around in a starry night discussing a spirit only to gain a buff when you decide to light a candle in its honor. I played for about 4 hours and decided I needed to own this game so I decided to pick it up. This game is just magical. One of the most amazing RPG experiences I've ever had and can't wait to see where the game takes me. You truly feel like you are inside of a Dungeons and Dragons campaign with these characters who you learn to care for.
Nice game though many of the events feel like they are pandering to modern sensibilities and morals which is fine if you view the setting as a fantasy children's cartoon or such. For more grounded and immersive games that have similar event systems I'd recommend King of Dragon Pass, Six Ages, Thea and Thea 2. None of them have the X-Com like tactical combat though which for me is either a positive or a negative depending depending on the day and mood.
okay played... it gets repetitive after an hour. It needs a lot more stuff before it can be said captivating. The only good thing about this game is its random generated storylines which a lot of game did better like mount and blade, state of decay etc...
Thanks for making this comment even if I totally glossed over that you said you only played it barely more than an hour. Remembering your comment after doing the first campaign on default difficulty without any problems made me realize I should probably up it for the second one. Was much more interesting experience, actually got gameover but during my second attempt of 2nd campaign I did figure out things well enough that battles were getting predictable and kind of tedious to get through without risking too much, other than upping difficulty again I might try keeping party sizes in battles small, so far it seems like enemy counts scale to it somewhat and either way it tends to make battles resolve one way or another faster. Would love to see more games like this but without the combat being as time consuming as it is in this. Anyway just out of curiosity how do you feel about other tactics games like X-Com, Fire Emblem, Disgaea, Kamidori Alchemy Meister and Final Fantasy Tactics do you find them repetitive too? I kind of have love/hate relationship with them, they're usually great but the amount of time each battle takes is ungodly.
What exactly do we do in order to get it working? We've put the IPv4 and IPv6 into the Wildermyth host slot. Is there a step we are missing? We're all connected in Hamachi
Is someone else having the same problem as me? Images seems to be distorted / cut in several parts, I tried to re-download twice now, from igg and from their torrent site, Or maybe its my PC? I would really like to play this game. The story is so enthralling.. I also tried searching on google but no avail.. Anyone please help?
More than times I should have. I tried changing the resolution, not playing on Full-Screen mode, etc. etc. My Graphic card supports Open G.L 3.2 (as per requirement) and not Intel-HD 3000. Wish I can buy this game to report this bug but i'm broke AF, or maybe i'm just destined not to play this game...
UI is an incredible mess, it's sometimes hard to understand what you see on the screen, and the character design won't please everybody, but the fighting system is SOoooo good that this is definitely a keeper.👍 I really love how you can interact with so many props on the board. I don't know if all of them are useful, but that's what is great. I feel like I'm going to find out many things by myself, which feels very exciting.😋 Some of the environment objects(whatever you call them) can be turned into traps, or explode next to enemies, etc. The game entices you to try everything, there's not just one way to do things. I often complain about "Puzzle-RPGs", in which you have to follow a certain route and position your characters a certain way in order to win, but here, it's the complete opposite. It feels very "free", like a true RPG should be.😍 It's definitely not a simple game in which you just click on "attack". lol You have many ways to overcome your enemies, including stealth moves, magic, and all sorts of cunning tricks, skills and traits. Very clever. Story seems to be procedurally generated, so each new game will feel unique. It's not like these simple games with just a different dungeon layout in every new game. They really worked hard on creating a dynamic story system. It really feels like playing a true tabletop D&D RPG, with a great gamemaster who keeps inventing new stories.😃 As a guy says on Steam, this game is about "character growth, not stats growth". I just played tonight and realized that 3 hours have passed without me noticing... This is usually a good sign of a great game. Oh btw, for you LGBT freaks, it seems extremely easy to have homo relations too!😂 (yeah I like to trigger people just for fun 😂) But seriously, it's true, I think that my all-vagina team is going have a threesome soon, at this rate. Their conversation is getting hotter as I progress in the game... I wonder what will happen... lol Sometimes I felt that it was Dragon Age Inquisition all over again.😂 (boy, my ass still hurt because of that damn minotaur!) This day started badly, with Sin Slayers sorely disappointing me(have you tried that BS?), but this game put a big smile on my face. 😄
I can't edit my original comment anymore, but I just wanted to say that the game is even better now. Don't even read the very few negative points I mentioned, they were already way too harsh anyway. Great game!!
I'm sold - thanks for the review. EDIT all valid points - I'm a couple of hours in - and this game is a real treat for fantasy turn based armchair generals. Art direction is refreshing - and even if graphics might be considered "sub-par" (no fancy shmancy effects or motion capture - this is not Xcom budget wise) the gameplay elements are really interesting.
"Turn based combat"=make full use of your thinking power without interruption(by real time gaming events like rush or cheap tactics). I can understand why using one's full brain power doesn't appeal to everyone. And I won't draw ANY conclusion from that. At.All.
how about i have fun with what i like, ignore what i dislike and let people have fun. Instead of hate preaching on the internet? Weird concept i know...
Yeah it also passed me from where he was able to draw the reference, but anyway... turn based only gets tedius when save scumming becomes absolute necessary.
"OK boomer" is only used by fully retarded kids who usually happen to be liberal snowflakes and SJW-LGBT, 99 % of the time. They have zero clue about the real world and they think that saying "ok boomer" will actually hurt people who have survived a world war... Yep, it's hilarious alright... ....Especially when they use it mostly for people who are in their 20s-30s... Damn zoomers don't make any sense...
Downloading and gonna play. If I enjoy it, I'm gonna buy it to help the devs, otherwise, trashbin. I've been duped too many times by games like these, hopefully this time it's a good one

This game has two strong points: Interaction and Character deformation.
can you help when i start the campaign this happened
I despise games like this. It's boring and tedious. One exception for Undertale which actually made it fun. - Dunkey.
