To those who are impatient and obviously unfamiliar with setting up their PC for smooth gaming. I take no responsibilities for outdated hardware and Windows drivers/updates. Always make sure these are up to date!
How to:
Use WinRAR ideally, which is natively included in Windows 11. If you're on Windows 10, get WinRAR first. Google it, find it, install it.
Extract the downloaded game. After this, open the extracted folder and extract the Unleashed-7z-file as well.
Launch the game's exe (Volgarr2) as admin and your game will open!
If it still doesn't, get these official files NOW, install them and launch the game's exe (it's still called Volgarr2) again.
it's alright but I'm not really the kind of person who likes dying to something coming from offscreen I can't even see and having to restart the entire level. One hit kill, this one.
Remember the times when devs were comparing their d-size by the size of their sprites, often causing you to be barely able to see 5 metres ahead of your character? I never really liked Sonic as they claimed that the game / character is soooo fast but going fast meant running into enemies or spikes. Zool I found even worse in this regard.
Nowadays we have something slightly similar in third person perspectives, where the camera is in the neck of the character without being able to change perspective of zoom out. God of War for example.
Yep. I also remember games where the character moves so fast you sometimes have to stop to let the screen catch up or just do tiny little taps on the d pad to move the screen just enough so you can see what's ahead of you. Funny enough I never had issues with Sonic because the background more often than not kept up with the character's movement and my reflexes back in the day were pretty good
