Its probably just me, but thats strangely awkward and unfun, to go from trying to steer this car that doesn't steer good, its hitting the walls and dragging Wipeout style, to the gas trigger is suddenly a gun trigger now, and you have to walk forward with the stick, and there are things shooting at you, 3rd person shooting with the stick is always a chore, and then you have to platform, one of these buttons is the jets, but its not the gas trigger, because thats for shooting now, because you'll need it to reach the platform...
It looks like this was all planed in a boardroom with a list of bullet points. Individual things that have scored well with test groups, racing, shooting, platforming, and then stick that all in a game with unskippable video's and good graphics and stick transformers on it.
Honestly, Devastation was the last good Transformer game, and it was peak arcade action. Before that, the Cybertron series was also a good TPS, with very pleasing aesthetics, a nice variety of weapons, and a lot of homages to the original Transformer animated movie. There was also that PS2 game, which I heard good things about but never played.
Bayverse Transformers is a mess; even the CGI (while highly advanced according to some) just doesn't impress me, because it's a zoomed-in garble of metal moving around like flies. I tried to push myself to watch it just to see all the variety of Transformers included, but the supporting human cast were too annoying, and so it became a slog to watch.
The IDW comics have an interesting, albeit imperfect, story. I wonder why that was never adapted to TV or games.
