Activate the "Developer" mode To do this. 1 Click start 2 write "developer settings" 3 activate developer mode.
Launch the Microsoft Store (Yeah poo but we have no choice) 1 Install the "Xbox Béta" app 2 Remove all that from the windows startup "Ctrl + Alt + Del" Task managers start-up turn off "Xbox App Service" 3 reboot your PC
Copy your "The Touryst" file to the desired location on your HDD
Authorize your anti virus AND windows defender to execute whatever it is in the "The Touryst" folder
Run "UWP_install_TheTouryst" to install it launch your game via the start menu of windows 10 Authorize the Xbox account and play! Yes it is very complicated for such a small game but it works.
I just keep getting the Provide the framework "Microsoft.DirectXRuntime" after following your instructions, you also forgot to mention the bat needs to modified to add-appxpackage "C:\extractedtothisfolder\The.Touryst\appxManifest.xml" -register (extractedtothisfolder being the folder where you placed the Touryst folder)
"Your display adapter only supports Resource Binding Tier 1. This game needs at least DX12 Feature Level 11.0 with Resource Binding Tier 2 or higher." Is my PC just too shit?
Not working for me either. Have Win 10 2004 build, editing the .bat to the proper path (and ran as admin), enabled Developer Mode, Xbox Beta is open and signed in...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSQD5xJeXpk Mini-review : Nothing special. This game feels like a gimmick. There are countless mini-games, as well as countless various gameplay styles encountered throughout the game, which is very cool, but... None of these mini-games are better or even equal what you can already find in other games. It's a good case of "jack of all trades, master of none". Some parts play like FEZ, where you have to rotate the game to go up a platform. But Fez did it better. There's another part where you can surf, but it's repetitive and very simple. Some pure platforming parts and also physics "puzzles" where you have to stack crates to reach a door, etc. But none of this is designed in a particularly exciting manner. Still, you might like it if you enjoy all-in-one games with very diverse gameplay, mini-games, pixel-perfect platforming (it's not really that hard, though), or if you just like the very nice and soothing atmosphere.(I admit this is the best feature of this game) Young gamers will like it, I think.
Yeah, the visuals of voxel art style will remind players of Minecraft. This game was a fun distraction going from island to island. I think this title was made by the same developers of FAST RMX, or NEO Racing something like that. I recognized the music is all I'm saying.
Anyone figure out how to install? I turned on Developer mode, made fake account in windows store, then I ran the .bat file, it always shows its going to install but then just closes it, before I activated the dev mode I tried running the .bat and it actually tried to install... any ideas?
Yeah I had a few issues, first up my gaming pc wasn't the 'latest' Win10 - needed to be on 19xx or whatever it is.... Then, after that, had to install Xbox Game Pass from the Windows Store, then had to change the bat file a bit, I ended up running something like this (From Powershell as Admin) add-appxpackage "C:\extractedtothisfolder\The Touryst\appxManifest.xml" -register C:\Extractedtothisfolder should be whereever you extracted it to. It did take a little bit of mucking around, but it did work...hope that kind of helps?
Hey thanks for the help but, each time I launch the .bat or the add-appxpackage command, I got an error about the Microsoft.DirectXRuntime package that could not be found. Seems to come from the "PackageDependency" line about DirectX in the appxmanifest.xml, because when I remove this line, the game installs but does not launch because of DirextX error. I tried installing directX dependencies and stuff but nothing works, my guess is the line about DirectX in the manifest doesn't specify the correct name or something like that. Any ideas? Thanks
Hey, it's not working for me so far. The UWP_install_TheTouryst.bat always crashes with a red text error, but it closes so fast I can't read what it says. I turned on Developer Mode, edited the .bat to: Powershell.exe add-appxpackage "C:\gamedirectory\The Touryst\appxManifest.xml" -register ...and have Xbox Beta (with a fake account) open and signed in. The only thing I don't have is that 2004 Win 10 version. I've checked for updates manually 2 days in a row now, says I'm up to date, but I'm still on Win 10 Home, v1903, build 18362.959. Which is odd because under updates it says "Current status as of July 22, 2020 - Windows 10, version 2004 is available for users with devices running Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909, who manually seek to “Check for updates” via Windows Update." Thanks for the help, if it's possibly the fact I can't update to 2004 for some reason I'll look into that.
Nope, not at all, just need the framework/application installed. I do like the game, and was going to sign up, but my MS Account did not want to login, so, I was like 'Welp, guess I am using THIS copy then' For others, go to the Microsoft Store (Urgh, yes I know) and look for Xbox Beta, and install it.
Oh ok, at first I didn't know what you were talking about by "downloading game pass". So I downloaded "Xbox Beta" on the store and then the game installed! Now it works, so thank you very much!
Still no luck for me.. :( keep getting the provide the framework microsoft.directxruntime error....yes i have Xbox beta installed and logged in and everything...
Yeah that kinda helps, figured it was an issue with the xbox store thing, isnt game pass a service where you pay to get some free games monthly? kinda beats the purpose of pirating this game if you have to pay to be able to install it in the first place....
No shit, Sherlock. Well said, anyway. I appreciate you weeping for me. I didn't think that through. This isn't your typical install of a pirated game and I already use my outlook email with Windows. Besides, if I like a game I buy it and I don't mind doing that without playing it first because the game is as cute and sweet as you! With that, do let me know what you think of the game, pretty please. That is, if you can get it to work.
To do this.
1 Click start
2 write "developer settings"
3 activate developer mode.
1 Install the "Xbox Béta" app
2 Remove all that from the windows startup "Ctrl + Alt + Del"
Task managers
start-up
turn off "Xbox App Service"
3 reboot your PC
launch your game via the start menu of windows 10
Authorize the Xbox account and play!
Yes it is very complicated for such a small game but it works.
Guess i hit too close to home, huh?
go cry somewhere else.
Is my PC just too shit?
Damn! I only have a keyboard!

No updates available.
I want to be a teacher in my next job so helping out others here is really rewarding haha :)
