In case anyone is unaware, this is from The Game Kitchen, a Spanish development team that made Blasphemous and Blasphemous 2, two of my favorite games of all time. This one is getting positive reviews, although some complaints about too much difficulty and technical issues.

I'm gonna buy this one just because I love the dev so much.

Very good.

Spanish Devs have been making a few good games.
And Blasphemous has been definitely been one of them.

Good little horror stealth game based on the art of Goya. Check out my review: https://geekgasm.org/2025/01/10/dead-of-darkness-survival-horror-returns-with-retro-charm-on-jan-23rd/

Is this proper?

Initial startup sent me to a choose difficulty screen, then immediately asks me to give a stone to sb? I had not the slightest idea what's going on.
Esc brought me back to the start menu.
To use an old tech analogy, it felt like a corrupted flash game, where the game didn't stop on proper frames.

After noticing key presses were not working, I went and changed resolution, then tried to restart the program, but now the game won't go past the initial loading phase and is stuck in a black screen (Taskman showing "Not Responding")

I tried to delete background files like saves, startup files, but somehow I could not reset the state.
Could OS be the problem? It says Win10 but I did get some play time on Win7. If it runs on Win7 then it shouldn't act differently.

It's ok, the game footage did not made strong pulls for me.
Perhaps it was never meant for me ( to be played by)

Just wanted to stress that it's possible the release is not proper.

*BTW Skidrow's installer requires api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll to run on win7.
Version no. of mine is 6.3.9600.16384.
