This is a really cool little indie zelda-like, done by a small team over a couple years; if you like it, please consider supporting the devs!

I don't recommend it based on writing and pacing. The problem is already present in the initial prologue where it recount a great war in the past but meandered a bit. Encounter with the antagonist results in similar exchange that felt more like exposition, littered with irrelavent detail. One of the NPC says his initial reaction upon seeing the antagonist is to tell him to "piss off" which pulls one out of the story, as it felt very modern and urban.

The beginning was about meeting a friend in the forest but the layout lead to directionlessness early on, hindering pacing.

It has no quest reminder which will be confusing if you pick it up after putting it to rest for a while. (although it has destination marker)

It's Australian/New Zealander in personality, so that could be why it threw you off.
