for what ever reason, the upload for this game on IGG seems to crash (even tho it should be the same) as the version in this link. however, the link i shared in this comment is the same link SO MANY OTHERS are using and not having the crash issues.
so, idk if something is going on when i email this to IGG for upload, or if i somehow made a mistake somewhere. but this is the version that works (some may crash) idk, but ive yet had anyone say this version crashed! (there is several uploads in my gdrive, so thus the confusion)
if @roosevelt2362 can grab this and do a reupload, to hopefully resolve the crashing issues others still have that would be fine with me. as im not sure what else the issue could be since sending this link thru gmail/proton/email in general seems to have some effect on the crashing which is strange but afaict thats the only difference between the link shared here VS whats sent to IGGs email address.
Yeah I have no idea how other people get it too work, I tried the re-extracting after the game crashes twice now and it consistently crashes after 1-2 in-game days. After playing through and doing it again after the re-extraction doesn't do anything for me consistently within 15 minutes it crashes.
Yeah same thing happened to me it crashed so i didn't bother came back a few days later it GONE! I think i'll wait until they can work all the bugs out of it
"they" aint gonna do anything, nobody is working on this. one person actually, but they cant get it packed back up into a proper exe again. it refuses to compile. so, try different versions of this, or buy it. im 42 days into mine, and havent crashed yet, others are just as far if not farther.
(they used the link i shared?) which should NOT matter since i sent that same link to IGG. either way, nobody is messing with this. its alot of work for someone to do this for free. when the games cheap enough.
reextract the game, if you crash. its usually good after that.
the main issue, the crash is random. but most the time after the first crash, itll work without crashing again. im on day 16 without another crash.
just so its clear, there is no other fix at this time sadly, unless reverting back to the Early access version.

restart the game, usually crashes 1 time. then you should be good.
use the link shared in comments, just for sanity sake. if it crashes once, re extract leaving the prior files, just overwrite whatever it asks. then you should be good. (upload vs what i shared) should be the same however so idk.
with the version you uploaded, i crashed. (within 10min) but with the file i had in my gdrive im on like day 5 with a 20 min run. im curious if the save file i also removed from what i sent you had something to do with it... bc this is strange.
or i sent you guys the wrong one... either way, the one i shared in the comment here to Zkiller691 is correct. (they need to manually remove the save files themselves.... so the tutorial shows up, and their resolution works proper.
try this (left save files which is the only change i made after i was informed by a few users it was working for them) *if you dont remove those, the tutorial doesnt show up, and you start off 6 days in) so remove all inside the save folder located in erminus\Terminus\steamapps\common\Terminus\saves\save_1

the one thing i didnt check, i moved the game to my steam folder (as if it would had came from steam). im not sure if the others just downloaded and played it where they downloaded it to.
if that doesnt work, then im bowing out. to many DMs stating they havent crashed, and a few in comments.
No, thats a PROBLEM! i must have emailed the wrong stuff. or me manually removing the save files before sending it had some kind of effect.
its strange. bc i too crashed with what they shared. so im lost. but with what i shared (re downloaded) and removed the saves myself, i never crashed. i did set time to move FASTER so i could crash sooner if it were to happen but, so far... 20 min in, day 5, goin fine.
game is cracked, just has another hidden antipiracy measure built in. some of us are currently working on trying to resolve the issue, or figure out how to stop it.
game is not fully cracked if it has a antipiracy measure that will crash it about 30 minutes in and then screws with your files and deletes things, it's just not. You'll have to agree.
Also by the looks of it'll take time to find a solution for this one since no one on cs rin or elsewhere has any idea how to deal with this in a competent manner.

try this remove the save files located in Terminus\Terminus\steamapps\common\Terminus\saves\save_1 (remove all files, folders inside that folder)! link should take you to gdrive! then lmk how far you get! original upload is from IGG ive changed a few things, using others as ginnie pigs, since i played for 2 hours or so plus, i just dont like these kinds of games... either way, if you play and dont have issues let me know!

The best way for you to prevent the crash is back up your files the 1st 10 mins in game. If the game doesn't crash then you'll be fine if not delete the save file and replace the folder back with the back ups. The fixes of @Craxton definitely works. Here's the prop: You can start modding the game in this version as well but I didn't check If I can add more stuffs into the game or not but right now you can change the stats of the foods,vehicles, etc...Furthermore, axe and fireaxe are so OP in this game. They literally kill everything in 1 hit even the hardest zombie. The guns are quite trash due to the lack of ammu and most of the time you need at least 2 shots to kill a single zom while you can just 1 tap them with the axes.
Definitely! I messed up the game while adding some new foods and crafting recipes in the json lil bit and the game crashed lol. Turn out some of the stats could not be changed unless I can find the root or the database of them. I thought I'm totally cooked at that time but I changed them back right away so It's fine now.
i didnt mod the base things, just turned up spawns and turned off expire dates lol... i crashed 1 time, then was good after that. which is what you and the other had happen was it not? (1 time crashing in general)??
The crash was my fault because I changed the decay rate. Now i know the rate in the json doesn't work lol. I still don't know why people keep telling the fixed version doesn't work. This game is so addictive tho also I hope we can buy furniture or move them in the future too
i find it hard to stay interested, people complain about food. but, my only issue is mfn water. ive been all over hell have 40 empty bottles across my time playing. and have yet to find a lake to fill these mfrs up so i have fresh water. (constantly near death due to lack of water) either way, hopefully the others get a chance to try it out. longer than an in game day or two (10/15 min) lol.
you can change decay rate in custom settings for the map you load in btw as well as customize every literal thing.
if youve not re-downloaded in the passed 12 hours, do so. if you have, reextract and run it again.
btw, make these two folders, and paste the games files there (the first files you see to where your able to play the game)
\steamapps\Terminus just copy/paste. that may help. but, it may not... you may re try the game (after extracting again, bc it removes stuff) and it work fine forver.
for those having issues, if you crash. Re-extract the game. i crashed one time, after that ive had no issues. (on day 50 now around 4hrs in) but still. Do yourself a favor, and backup the save folder every so often and keep the packed rar around its small, so its doable that way, you have a way to continue where you left off. you can also make ALL files inside \Terminus\Terminus\steamapps READ only. (highlight all files/folders in that dir and right click, hit properties, hid "read only" apply. hit yes if it asks to apply to sub folders etc!!

I don't think so, man. I totally agree with @wuder because I did test the game by idling it for around 10 mins. The game just automatically crashed after I exited it due to the missing of version_info.json and the whole game got corrupted as well. Furthermore, I tried to back up the files that the game removed from it but no luck because there is some kind of protection preventing people from replacing them.
8 days in, but im "dead" more or less since im out of AP and have no food. have quite literally EVERYTHING but... dont go 0 into dex or your as good as dead for starting fires without a mfn lighter.

so, i just had this happen... its not only removing the json file everyone keeps bringing up. its removing alot of shit... but i never crashed. i just closed the game trying not to save wtf id done. and when i reopened it, i noticed i was missing files. as i was going to upload the files, with the changes id made. however, i do have the other which is where i was playing.. so i may be mistaken on which is what... its late here after all.. never the less, the one that hasnt removed the data/folders etc. i removed a few lines that were http something that pointed to the devs? im not sure, but they were for the game in some sort. if it turns out the changes i made (after that happened) works, ill share it here.
a small work around for the time being, download it twice, and make backups of your save folder every 10/20 min... as i said tho, im not sure if im on the right folder for which one i was recently playing. as the time frame mentioned on the folder says "thats not it"...
Ye i think so. Many of them got removed and corrupted. Imma give it a try. Also, did your game change the type of the file after it crashed? Because for me It's impossible to replace them with the old files. Edit: Tks you so much. I think it works man. The changes work. I did a backup save at the 10mins mark and give it a go for 20 mins at the time I made this comment and no crash or whatsoever.
hopefully thats still the case, as for the files being changed. i do not know. i was only playing this in A quest to try resolving the issue.

The current method is to back up the archive file every ten minutes, delete the damaged version, and re extract a new version. It's quite laborious, but that's how it works
I don't have much time to finish the game and yet I'm pretty sure to say at this point the problem is solved by your method. The fixed version is safe to use. Tested by quitting the game constantly to make sure the in-game file corruption wouldn't triggered and I did idle for 30 minutes and still no crash.

i understand limited time... quite well actually lol as for idle time, i dont believe that triggers it. although i could be wrong. i could simply re download the version currently present on IGG and allow it to run in the background, if it crashes while idle then id call the removed call back, and other changes made resolved.
either way, ill email IGG and see if he wishes to reupload this with the changes. then itll be on a wider scale to know 100% if its resolved. (resolved would be not needing to backup saves, files, folder and stuff.) just download, extract, play and forget any issues due to cracking issues. either way, glad i could help!

i've just downloaded FIXED version and FIXED.2 version
but, I too, always encounter the same error.
It crash after first night.
its usually good after that.
