This game sets itself apart from many other games well. It is nothing groundbreaking with most of its deck building/card-play elements, but the theme, writing, graphics, and handful of unique mechanics carry it through. I think it has the potential to become a fantastic game. The difficulty is too high to just mess around and you will be required to utilize the variety of broken mechanics to win. If you aren’t the kind of person who figures these out themselves or is willing to check online for guides, I think your longevity will be limited. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54WnjDRhB1g
On the homepage they describe how they've split the game-style focus between this one and "Fall of Avalon". Maybe the upcoming different version is closer to what you'd like. Its interesting they they feel its different enough to need a separate game.
When does this happen? You might want to mention that. From the word "initialization", I hazard a guess that you don't have the necessary ,NET framework or other prerequisites that are needed to run this IGG-uploaded version of the game. Of course, unfortunately, if this is the case, this is not mentioned in the requirements. However, you might want to notice that you aren't the only one who have tried this out. Not having prerequisite software is frequently why one person can't run the game while others can, especially in the matter of legally dubious game packages.
It seems like your computer managed to start the program, but then hard-crashed. I haven't played the game, and I don't intend to. Still, I have had initialization problems with other games before (especially if they are played using legally dubious packages - like this one here from IGG). I believe that is likely a graphics card or driver problem; your computer simply refuses to run it over this or that compatibility issue, which also happens to be not told to you in any way. You may have already done the usual and typical updating of drivers and such other software; there might have been no improvement whatsoever. If so, my advice is to just look at other games; don't bother spending time trying to fix a problem when you could be playing something else instead.
I'd give it an 8 prior to this release but I only expect this number to improve. It is my honest opinion that most games in this genre can become excellent. It's only a matter of whether or not the devs have the tenacity to stick with it, implement feedback and rebalance. Tainted Grail in my opinion is a good example of that. Every version of the game they've released has significant changes and revamps. They had to meet high expectations to begin with since this is a game based on a tabletop game which already has diehard fans.
I think it is, haven't played it yet though 😅. I installed it last night but i fell asleep after i set up my character, lol it was soo late 😭. Imma play it today though and let you know if it's any good or not 😋.
