For those who are wondering why a Chinese dev studio would be make an Arabic-centric game - Some Chinese people are Muslim (of the Islamic faith) as Arabic traders created the "Silk Road" to the promote the trade of goods (And spread religon) between the Near East and the Far East (North Western part of China) since 130 BC (Or BCE, if you're not religious). There are also some Chinese people who are of the Christian faith (eg. - Catholicism, Presbyterianism) as Christianity was spread across China by the missionaries starting from the 7th century AD.

Looks like an Aztec guy.

I reckon that its "inspired by" the Chinese own experiences and impressions of Arab cultures. Maybe even largely through a lens of India and Buddhism.

Its very cool looking.
It seems respectful, if its not historically accurate.

This is the World and anything is possible, my friend! Arab traders did trade with the people of India who in turn also had trade and exchange of information with their Chinese neighbors. Buddhism also spread into China from India (Most Indians were already Hindu (Some are Sikh), so Buddhism didn't really take a major hold in India) and from China to Japan (To become Zen Buddhism).

There is a picture in the first promo video of a supposed "Arabian woman" (A princess(?), judging by the gold jewelry that she wears) whose garment kind of resembles an Indian sari in overall form. So it's possible that "artistic license" was exercised by the artists in the making of the artwork and graphics of this game.

on this note, beside trade, the biggest impression they both had on each other was when they met in central asia while both were expanding politicaly and militarily, that led them into conflict which ultimately ended in arabs winning against the chinese(fairly complex wars) and practicaly removed all the chinese influence in central asia, its a very interesting series of wars/politics to read considering the severe and varied challenges both had to overcome to bring men and supplies.
