FULL REVIEW: https://goodmorninggamers.blogspot.com/2018/09/review-steel-empire.html I liked it on Megadrive, but this version is definitely better, although the gameplay is literally unchanged. I really love what they did to the art though, and I wish they did this for most Megadrive games... ha ha (OMG why don't they do this with Thunder Force IV?) Definitely a simple shmup though, not even remotely as fun and complex as a CAVE game from the late 90s, but still enjoyable for those who want a simpler gameplay with non-stop frantic action. Definitely good for nostalgic people. Maybe youngsters won't like it, though.
You need to install the correct version of the Visual C++ Redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3, installs, MSVCP140.dll and MSVCR140.dll. Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable, installs, MSVCP120.dll and MSVCR120.dll.
