Retraction: Forgot to take into account the music. It wasn't so obvious at the beginning but it took a big dive in stage 1, quickly took out the rest of my interest. So my opinion on this changed to subpar. -=======================- Genre listed as casual?? It said in the promo that it's an exploration platformer.
Controls etc were fine, attempts at FMVs are applaudable (simply because it's very rarely being made), but the rest is...
There is no rebinding for keyboards, which is a big minus. (There is for gampads.)
The color choice for stages is not good. At better parts it's monotone, at worst it's unpleasant to look at. The intro stage has a cyan/purple tone with bleedy pink filter-ish background scattered around. The 1st stage uses purple and grey-orange tones?...I don't even know how to properly describe it.
I looked at letsplay footages for other stages and I get the feeling I'm looking at color blind images (Cf. keyword "what do colorblind people see"). Perhaps the developer himself is ...? (Not to pry, just trying to understand the cause.)
The storydoesn't quite get one engaged. Very odd choices of story development. An alien ship's messy landing wrecked havoc on your home planet, then IMMEDIATELY began to leave. You jumped in NOT to pursue damages, but because you wonder if the pilot knows what its doing. In the alien's home planet, discovering some of their kind were abducted, you were tasked to FETCH SOME SWEETS to lighten up the situation.
I jumped ship at a little close to 1.5 hours. The music was the last straw.
