This is a top tier sci-fi game. Honestly makes you feel like a Star Trek captain with its exploration and anomalies, and the combat and interactions are immersive and fun. 8/10, would recommend, especially if you're into sci-fi games.
this game is great at the beginning i thought it was another boring turn based space ship game like the millions around but its fully open world reminds me of the sunless skies/sea game
I just downloaded the latest version and whenever I try to start the game it always freezes after the logos are shown. I already played this in the past when it was early in development, I still even have said version of the game, and it still works. One obvious difference to me, besides it being a newer version, is that the previous version was from Steam, this one from GOG. Some help would be appreciated.
Yeah! IGG will update Starcom soon! He answered on the request page some hours ago: "IGG-GAMES.COM (Administrator) Moderator Team Luckamenn • 8 hours ago I will upload the latest version of this game soon, you can check here again tomorrow."
Huh... This game offers a good ship-building mechanic and gameplay; a strong reminiscent of 'Space Pirates and Zombies 2'. However, the storyline is pretty much 'on-rail'... and there was no 'freeplay' whatsoever. Replayable to 2-3 times, and then nose-dived boring pretty fast...
Played it, and it's way better than what you describe of it. In fact, the game surprised me for what it is able to do. You just have to do things differently to get surprising results. This is not a game of who clicks faster or God power mode wins it all. What it offers at such an EA state puts many other titles indies or not in the dust. That says a lot, but it's the truth. It's not for everybody, but fans of scifi and sims alike will like its intricate story. It actually reminds me of "Nexus, The Jupiter Incident", a pc game developed several years back, 2004, well made game and story.
Huh... seriously? This game reminds you of that "Nexus"? You can't be serious - unless you're referring to its title, these 2 games are way too different... I wrote 'on-rail', because of its supposed 'procedural universe', which didn't really happened... so, it felt rather 'SP-esque', punching through the story with an exact or similar approach, unlike the aforementioned 'SPAZ'-verses... Unless you're telling me that there are more than ONE actual outcome, then yeah, I'm game once more...
They both follow a story and at the end you can play as an open world. Starcom is at a EA state, you can't compare the two, but the essential elements are there. The enemy comes back so it is procedural universe, but your actions alter the world, not just your ship's improvements. For what it does right now without any noticeable bugs, it's damn good. I got the part where there's a hidden satellite outpost. The next step to uncover the truth, but the more I dig the more mysterious it gets. The rift's cause is only the beginning.
OK then, I'll buy that... In any case, hope it fares better in your experience... 'cause I, for sure after 3 replays, didn't. Nah, probably just not my taste... Speaking of which, your reply reminds me to replay SPAZ 2, so I'm greatly thank you for this...
