Except this isn't German so you simply can't apply German rules to it. In Mando'a language, "Fett" draws its meaning from the Basic transliteration of the word vhett, the Mando'a word for farmer, thus members of the Fett clan throughout the galaxy's history ranged from simple farmers, to conquering Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, in addition to several mercenaries and bounty hunters throughout the years.
Yes, in a lower comment response, I pointed that Fett/Vhett dialect thingy out. It's just irritating to me, as a german, you know. 😄
EDIT: I used the word irritating, thinking it would mean sth. like "strange". I am of course not annoyed by the strange name Fett, I was confused about it. I just wanted to point this out and put it right.
I don't know if you really understood what I intended to say. I did not claim any character to actually be fat, but the name "Fett" just sounds disgusting.
Also, family names indeed stem from professions, mostly. Ancestors of those people, who have these names like Becker, Schumacher, Müller, actually are likely to once have been exactly that what their names suggest.
There are adjustments and varieties in these names, though. Becker, Bäcker, Bekker, Schu(h)macher, Shoemaker, Miller, Müller, Möller, Muller a.s.o.
I do understand you don't like the name fett cause sounds like fat It's just kinda unfair to say the surname is ugly cause it's sounded like that in German, the creator probably doesn't intend to mean like that And yeah it's a minor character in the movie, dead in no time, and the game looks... unattractive with or without fett Schwarzenigger at first i thought means black nigger? But it seems it's wrong, it's just a place called schwarz something, so he's from that place, maybe a German people can explain better?
It's divided wrongly. In german, Schwarzenegger would go like this:
Schwarzen egger, not Schwarze negger.
The name is divided into four syllables: Schwar Zen Eg Ger
The german "Egge" is a tool (harrow) used by farmers.
Meanwhile, I found out, what it's about with that Fett name. In the Star Wars universe, it's some kind of Mandalorian dialect, originating from Vhett, but they cannot speak or spell it like Vhett, so it's Fett.
It's egger, from the german word "Egge", which is a tool to work the soil with. A harrow, to be exact. Mr. Terminator is an idol and quite a machine to plow through anything! 💪
I'm well aware of who Mr. Lucas is, but I was not keen enough to know about the "Fett" origin, though, because my interest in the whole Star Wars lore is just...not there. I guess, I was playing more Monkey Island (Lucasfilm Games) than watching Star Wars movies.
And still, knowing about the Fett or Vhett origin, doesn't make the sound of "Fett" more appealing. Ask James Rolfe (AVGN) about that matter and he would agree. I'm just hinting at the strange Star Wars video game title "Masters of Teräs Käsi". There you can see the very german looking structure. It's not too far fetched, to be confused about the Fett name, especially from a german speaking person's viewpoint.
The torrent works ,but the files on megaup are corrupt. I got the same, kept crashing out at about 10 % install. Re D/L but use the torrent file instead
all links are the same... interchangeable even, i.e. you download one part from megaup, the other from clicknupload or another upload option, theyll work together. i had 0 issues with the game. i (never) use torrents anymore, not since 2009 when i was 19 or so...
So when I try to install it and press install game in the installer it just shuts down without installing anything. It creates all the folders but no files. Any idea whats wrong?
Isn't that stupid/unattractive?
Who did come up with science-fiction characters, whose surnames literally mean "fat"?? 🤯
Fett = german for fat

If you have Schumacher name does it mean you have to work as shoe maker?

Too nerdy stuff...

I like to learn stuff and, as I just...well...learned 🙃, there's always a lot to learn for me.
Like Bowie pointed out above, this is the explanation for this very special sounding name:
