The game starts in Japanese, to change the language:
In the game HUB: Go to the options with "Start" on the controller or "Esc" on the keyboard, second option is "Settings": Fifth option is "Language" and the sixth is "Voice Language", advance one and there is "English": Go back and select the first option: Enjoy!
Snow brothers on NES is an integral part of my childhood, cute characters, catchy tunes (except stage 41~50), gameplay, story...
Which makes this game's letsplay quite a bitter sight to see.
What happened to the Bitwave that made Gimmick 2? - the art style in-game is just ugly. The original 2D snow-trapping animation had some fluidity where you see a snowball gradually forming, now it's just some white orb surrounding the monster, a flash, then a giant ball. Massive downgrade.
Awful voice.
A quick skim, didn't hear anything catchy. Remixes are run-of-the-mill or butchery (ex: boss music).
Not enchanted to play so can't comment on gameplay or story. I predict a game that's competantly made but nothing surprising. (Especially now that knock down streak, which is a core identity of the original has become more difficult with the top-down view)
