As for the EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION, I deleted the existing install (including the Documents->My Games -> ... And then moved the files from the Downloads folder to under C:. Seems like for me the problem was that OneDrive was trying to sync it to the cloud.

uhh when i run the game steam page shows up even when i added codex file to game folder im not sure what some people ment by adding codex file to the game folder, i just added it to the folder called Sid Meiers Civilization VI New Frontier Pass Portugal because i mean i don't know any details, can someone help me please? i just don't know where to place this codex file or codex files i just dont know pls help NEVERMIND FOUND FIX you need to go to dvd and you will see CODEX there, then you need to copy entire codex folder and paste it to the game folder just the game folder and then try running civilization 6

Please don't just copy-paste the requirements from the Steam store page. The part in the "Additional Notes" of the minimum requirements is not true. Otherwise, Civ 6 wouldn't be on this site.
So they're supposed to test and analyze the game so that they can write new requirements that doesn't match the official one? I think you're asking too much;
Oh no, sorry for the misunderstanding. i'm only referring to the part that says "Internet connection and acceptance of Steam™ Subscriber Agreement required for activation." which is not a requirement at all for this "version" we're downloading. Edit: Oh, and the part that says "Initial installation requires one-time Internet connection for Steam authentication" as well. Also, in case it's still not clear, "connecting for Steam authentication" or "accepting Steam Subscriber Agreement for activation" means not being able to play this game because there's no way in hell Steam will just let you play this game when you didn't buy it. Therefore, it's not a "minimum requirement" for this pirated version.
You're right, man. How dare they do something like that? It's insane. I can't believe this is happening for real. How am I supposed to handle a situation like this? I'm only used to excellence in all areas of piracy.
