I never knew this, but apparently this game is based of the SCP universe. From what I can tell, its a website that hosts many literary works in various formats that pertain to the supernatural.
Still unsure exactly what it is, unless someone can kindly elaborate for me please?
Yes, the SCP Foundation is a fictitious agency that tries to find and contain paranormal objects and beings that usually are very dangerous for Humanity.
CONTROL is the non-SCP based game that best reproduces this universe, in my opinion.
The SCP foundation, SCP meaning Secure Contain Protect, is a fictional organisation that revolves around securing containing and protecting extranatural and paranormal events, objects, entities and phenomenons.
Its website and community contain a huge archives of lore, information, CLASSIFIED information and "scientific" articles on the subject.
It's a very interesting universe filled with references to real life events & fiction, mythology and legends.
Its universe is constantly growing, evolving and being expanded upon by the community, as everyone is welcomed to add articles to the library, you or I could easily add yet another articles, it's a good place for new or experienced writers to add their own stone to the structure.
SCP is creative commons sharealike? Ergo anything using SCP must be creative commons sharealike the games steam page copyright notice lists itself as creative commons sharealike, and if you look up the license itself one of the implications is that sharing it in any form is allowed (you could even pirate then sell the game legally)
Honestly, I was expecting something much less nuanced so I'm sorry that I was a bit untoward before. But the description would seem to say that the content of the game, i.e. the SCP concepts and lore, are sharealike, not the actual software itself.
That's, not really how the sharealike license works I don't think?
The creative commons site states that "you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original." not just that you need to keep the original licenses intact.
The SCP Wiki itself on video games says their license applies to software (and specifies a bunch of stuff like no DRM, you're not allowed to impede other people from distributing your game no EULAs etc)
This is a strange game, from discussion I collected that it should be VR game. On the startup it forces SteamVR to open, yet it never detects the game as VR, and proceeds to launch as normal. Headset sees nothing, and the game never mentions VR, not even googling it mentions VR. So I'm going to assume that it is the crack that is messing with the VR startup. Anyway, VR is not needed to play the game.

Which means either
