I regret buying this game. I bet it's fun playing this with others but solo it's incredibly tedious once you are scaling up production.
Compared to factorio, scenario: automating power Factorio: You prebuild buildings, place them and supply them with water and coal, 2 lines of stuff+connections
Satisfactory: Same as above, except you need to plan for verticality of the inputs, which great, what's not so great is getting the resources to where they should be, for a project like this you need to have floors placed, you need to either or both ferry 1 input over large distances, belting coal to the plant took me like 15 minutes. Placing buildings sucks in this game as well, you can't prebuild so you better have all that you need or you will walk back 500 meters to your base for a rotor and back again. The buildings are massive which is awesome, but either you are close so you can place precisely and then you don't see anything (sometimes not even where the holes for the inputs are) or you sacrifice precision and get to a lookout to build. With being able to nudge buildings before placing them this isn't that bad anymore, but it's still tedious.
i downloaded then uninstall it the next day like you said the gameplay its tedious doing all yourself its no wonder why in the release trailer they appear 2-4 peoples its a single player game but very focused on multiplayer
but this is one that worths to buy for the multiplayer rather than single player

If you are experiencing issues launching the game or loading a save and you have already verified your files, you might have some incompatibility with DX12 as the default renderer, you can try the following launch options to try to force DX11, DX12 or Vulkan to run respectively.
Apparently this kind of error shows up when i run the startgame.bat, but when i ran the satisfactory.exe i didnt suffer anymore crashes, it works fine now.

A little tip from me how to start it without a lot of stress and extra stuff: create a link simply add "-EpicPortal" in the target path and pull out the internet or switch it off when starting. steam must go offline/online

First of all, to eliminate any possible future bugs, place the game under a known game installation path. For steam it is something like steamapps/common, this won't fix the issue yet. Then add the game to Steam or Epic store.
Install ModManager as you normally do.
After that download the unpacked ModManager resources I provide here (Windows 37.8MB): MEGA This is version 2.5.0, unpacked with npx asar , ask for updates if it changes and you can't do it yourself.
Replace the ModManager resources folder at ModManager\resources with the hacked ones and rename app.asar to _app.asar or whatever else and after that go to ModManager\resources\app\node_modules\satisfactory-mod-manager-api\lib\installFinder.js There's a getInstallsWindows function that I have already hacked, go in there and replace the second parameter (number) with the game's build ID, you can see that from within the game, and the fourth parameter with the game's directory path, and the last with the game's exe.
Then go to ModManager\resources\app\node_modules\satisfactory-mod-manager-api\lib\installfinders\windows\steam.js (or epic.js or any other file you wish) and do the same, on steam.js I have already hacked on line 83 so you can just replace that like above.
Then launch the modmanager and press ctrl-shift-I to open console and see if there are problems, there probably aren't and you don't get the notification anymore.
I would recommend to unpack the app.asar in resources after you use the official installer of the ModManager yourself and do that by hand (you need to install nodejs) since mine might not work, the app is different per-system. Or, you could just provide me with that data after you install (ModManager/resources/app.asar, build id, game path, game exe path etc...) and I can do that for you, which is safer.
The build ID is that number inside the game that appears on a corner next to the "Early Access" or something like that. Use the search function of your text editor to find the function i speak of, each parameter is separated by comma.
Or you can just send me the data and I can hack it for you on your platform as i explained, if you have no experience in computers.
Or, you could just provide me with that data after you install it officially (ModManager/resources/app.asar, game build id, game path, game exe path etc...) and I can do that for you.
What error does it throw? Did you remove the app.asar after unpacking? If not your modded one won't be used but the packed one instead. See the crack I provide if you think you messed up the code.

yes you can. use direct local ip if in same Wi-Fi or same LAN connection. No need any serious work to do.
If you wanted to play over internet then enable port forwarding where the base game (or server) running. For port 7777, 15000, 15777, both TCP and UDP enable and use your public ip. be mind firewall maybe block connection. Google it for check how to do it and port forwarding only possible in router and some countries ISP default block it so you have to talk with your Internet service provider to unblock it
ngl this looks great, if you like factorio you will like this i guess just dont expect to play too much, this is one of those games who starts to get boring doing all this by yourself for a while positive reviews are more for the multiplayer feature, playing this with some people shines like a diamond so go purchase it on steam instead of download it here or wait if by a miracle theres a stable cracked multiplayer
You can have your opinion but I completely disagree with you. Multiplayer would ruin the game, the game is about perfecting the efficient design of an extremely complex system... I'm a firmware engineer and unfortunately no one else I know would be "on the same page" with me to do this cooperatively, they would just mess everything up. there is a way but is using a cracked version of the satisfactory mod manager. The easy way is buying the game. Hard is trying to pirate bcause the updates crash everything and you will need to update de cracked mod manager too some times.
looks like the devs finally fixed the extreme hardware heat problem and it was exactly what i thought it was: the game has been running with the frame limit set to infinite all these years!
set that cap to 60 or 30 in the graphics settings and the temp drops. also lower the graphics preset to medium or low. it'll still run warm BUT at these settings, this game won't be attempting to melt your pc hardware.

Has anyone manage to launch this new update successfully? everytime i open it goes to the steam store and crashes after a couple of min. the bat file already says -epicportal but it keeps on going for steam so im quite confuse.
the game starts for me, but freezes when i'm looking at it... basically loads to the menu and that's it... any ideas why that might be? tried several things described in the comments thinking it might fix it, but the outcome is always the same - Main Menu, freeze when i'm looking and nothing is clickable, tho it animates when i hold Alt+Tab, then freezes again when i go back to the main game window...
Go to EpicStore, download "HelloNeighborModKit", start the launcher in your game folder. If it doesn't work - try starting it from the "ModKit" in your Epic library. That should make it start.
You guys sure this is even Satisfactory anymore, I downloaded Hello Mod Kit like you said but when I open the launcher in the game files it just opens the Hello Mod Kit but nothing else happens
NEW: wow was i so wrong. apparently you do need that Hello Neighbour Mod Kit installed on epic launcher. but why? and the Launcher.exe is asking for Hello Mod Kit and not Hello Neighbour Mod Kit. man. instructions not clear. got brain stuck in fan.

Running a 5.0.6 dedicated server on a private linux server. Everyone with this version can play on matching servers. Strange thing is that logging in with epic worked without problems so the players state is saved after leaving the game. Also best part of running a dedicated server - the game keeps running after everyone disconnected :-D.

How to install mods? mod manager is not working and mods now are in a ".smod" format wich cant be detected by the game and the games modloader! pls help EDIT: I FOUND OUT A WAY!!! rename the (name).smod file to (name).rar and create a new folder. name the new folder exactly like the mod (Ex. Fastwalkmod1.0 would be in a folder named Fastwalkmod1.0) and extract the mod there. thats it. EDIT2: apparently the mods do not work that way. they get shown as loaded and ingame shown as loaded, but dont actually work.

Works for me fine. Let's start from 0. Right click on the .exe file -> create shortcut. Now go to this new icon, the shortcut, and right click on it. Click on properties, then in the target box, put the original path between "", and to the right of it add -EpicPortal. So it would look like, "game path" -EpicPortal. With the "". And then, logically, click on the shortcut, NOT the original .exe, to run the game.

With some tinkering you can make fake EGS and UE4 manifests that SMM checks for when looking for the game. First make sure you have installed something from EGS so you have template manifests to edit. Then:

Add new entry to the InstallationList, AppName has to be consistent across all manifest files so choose one like Satisfactory. InstallLocation is path to where your game is installed (Like C:\Games\Satisfactory). Make sure you follow JSON syntax rules (you can find them online).

Set AppName, DisplayName, FullAppName, MainGameAppName and MandatoryAppFolderName to the one you choose before. Set CatalogNamespace to crab. This file isn't created by installing Unreal, it's created when you download any game from EGS. Thats why you have to install any other game from the store. It shouldn't be a problem as EGS gives away a game every week.

Compared to factorio, scenario: automating power
Factorio:
You prebuild buildings, place them and supply them with water and coal, 2 lines of stuff+connections
Satisfactory:
Same as above, except you need to plan for verticality of the inputs, which great, what's not so great is getting the resources to where they should be, for a project like this you need to have floors placed, you need to either or both ferry 1 input over large distances, belting coal to the plant took me like 15 minutes.
Placing buildings sucks in this game as well, you can't prebuild so you better have all that you need or you will walk back 500 meters to your base for a rotor and back again. The buildings are massive which is awesome, but either you are close so you can place precisely and then you don't see anything (sometimes not even where the holes for the inputs are) or you sacrifice precision and get to a lookout to build. With being able to nudge buildings before placing them this isn't that bad anymore, but it's still tedious.

For steam it is something like steamapps/common, this won't fix the issue yet.
Then add the game to Steam or Epic store.
Install ModManager as you normally do.
After that download the unpacked ModManager resources I provide here (Windows 37.8MB): MEGA
This is version 2.5.0, unpacked with npx asar
, ask for updates if it changes and you can't do it yourself.
Replace the ModManager resources folder at ModManager\resources with the hacked ones and rename app.asar to _app.asar or whatever else and after that go to ModManager\resources\app\node_modules\satisfactory-mod-manager-api\lib\installFinder.js
There's a getInstallsWindows
function that I have already hacked, go in there and replace the second parameter (number) with the game's build ID, you can see that from within the game, and the fourth parameter with the game's directory path, and the last with the game's exe.
Then go to ModManager\resources\app\node_modules\satisfactory-mod-manager-api\lib\installfinders\windows\steam.js (or epic.js or any other file you wish) and do the same, on steam.js I have already hacked on line 83 so you can just replace that like above.
Then launch the modmanager and press ctrl-shift-I to open console and see if there are problems, there probably aren't and you don't get the notification anymore.
I would recommend to unpack the app.asar in resources after you use the official installer of the ModManager yourself and do that by hand (you need to install nodejs) since mine might not work, the app is different per-system.
Or, you could just provide me with that data after you install (ModManager/resources/app.asar, build id, game path, game exe path etc...) and I can do that for you, which is safer.

I tried getting elsewhere but the files screwed up so had to uninstal the full game. Now I'm waiting for an update on here as I don't know if it will be just the update files or the full game download needed.

If you wanted to play over internet then enable port forwarding where the base game (or server) running.
For port 7777, 15000, 15777, both TCP and UDP enable and use your public ip. be mind firewall maybe block connection. Google it for check how to do it and port forwarding only possible in router and some countries ISP default block it so you have to talk with your Internet service provider to unblock it
just dont expect to play too much, this is one of those games who starts to get boring doing all this by yourself for a while
positive reviews are more for the multiplayer feature, playing this with some people shines like a diamond
so go purchase it on steam instead of download it here or wait if by a miracle theres a stable cracked multiplayer

Everyone with this version can play on matching servers.
Strange thing is that logging in with epic worked without problems so the players state is saved after leaving the game.
Also best part of running a dedicated server - the game keeps running after everyone disconnected :-D.

rename the (name).smod file to (name).rar and create a new folder.
name the new folder exactly like the mod (Ex. Fastwalkmod1.0 would be in a folder named Fastwalkmod1.0) and extract the mod there. thats it.
EDIT2: apparently the mods do not work that way. they get shown as loaded and ingame shown as loaded, but dont actually work.

Just login via Epic from options in the mainmenu of the game & you could play with other friends who did the same :P
