Not a good choice when it comes to Rugby games. The controller doesn't seem to work in the menus, the controls are just...weird...the loading times are excruciating, the graphics in the match engine are, no-joke, worse than the graphics in the Football Manager match engine, with cardboard crowds, players lacking in any detail, stadiums that just have no oooomph to them...There were sports titles such as EA NHL and NBA2K, as well as NFL Fever in the PS2 generation that stomped all over this game's visuals. Worst of all, the game crashed for me within 45 seconds of my very first match just as I regained possession from a passage of Romanian pressure on my forward line, right to the desktop, with no apparently warning nor any message to indicate what went wrong. Rugby 18 and Rugby Challenge are certainly ahead of this one. Oh, and you appear to be limited to the nations rosters as they were in 1995! Don't get me wrong, there were so awesome players around back then (Jonah Lomu in his absolute prime, anyone?), but not as the only apparent option in a game from 2019. And many of those player (maybe all, I didn't check) appear to have had their names changed very slightly as if to avoid licensing issues. For players that haven't been relevent for 25 years. I get it, tiny developer - tiny budget, but then don't do the whole World Cup 95 authenticity angle (for example, one of the signature tunes in the game is World in Union, the theme of the Rugby 95 World Cup, and other songs also feature which all must have cost something). Try going down another route, make all the players and teams totally fake and be proud of it. Do something just a bit different. Do what a Hockey game I recently played did that was on a tiny budget: Do away with pretty much all the rules, include blood and decapitations, make the field of play tiny, the action fast, the hits insane, and make it fun as fuck. Now you have a blueprint for your next game, which I can almost guarantee would be far better than this. Good luck.
