I have a question. Can I make requests on packs for this program? Like tile sheets or music? I know where to make them but I am not sure if I can submit for packs. Thank you.
I have to wonder, do people post the games they make with this somewhere? Or do people just make games for themselves just because? Would love someones opinion.
from what I know you can contact platforms to help you. Or make a small website to promote your work. there are possibilities just need to find one that suits you and also helps promoting.
Sorry guys and gals. Apparently the uploaded version of 1.1.1 that I put on http://Mega.nz reverted to the previous version. I put it so it would delete the previous version from Mega when uploading a new version, but Mega decided to delete the new version and keep the old one instead... And didn't even warned me about it. Well, I just uploaded the new version again, and this time I made sure to check if it's still there. So I will email it again to IGG and hope it works this time. Again, sorry about this. It's all my fault for not checking if the file was still there after uploading it the first time. :(
The problem with newly released RPG Maker is that it will lack a lot of contents. You'll have to struggle to get images, tiles, plug ins, etc that can help you to make your own RPG Maker game. In contrary of that, it is easier to get those from a recently popular old RPG Maker. That's from my own experience with my RPG Maker MV when I bought it; after I had fun with the older pirated VX Ace. I was suddenly lost in confusion that led into the lost of interest.
Sorry for the bad English, But do you realize right, that RPG maker MV and MZ use same tileset size ? Idk for your tileset but for mine its work fine, and if happen your tileset is out of pixel, you can just use Photoshop to resize the image but you always need to remember the term and conditions for the tileset or art you just download. And for getting another asset from another RPG maker game, is becoming hard because, some game encrypt their asset RPG maker game, and still it Will become more hard for you to find the tileset term and conditions Sorry for the bad english
Learn basic photoshop is one thing. Learn to draw an art is another thing. You can draw with pencil and paper, but you can't immediately become an artist who can draw a good anime character. Because you need talent, time, and dedication to become a descent mangaka. I'm not ignorant about the basic photoshop myself. But I'm not a mangaka. Nor want to be one.
And? I thought Akira Toriyama is a mangaka, and Dragon Quest games is not a manga. Also, why people call a Japanese female character drawing as anime girl, while it is only a picture, not an anime? Please explain.
Are you pretending to be stupid or are you really stupid? Mangaka draws manga. But an "artist who can draw an anime character" is not "mangaka". Mangaka is an artist. But an artist doesn't mean to be a mangaka. There are a lot a artists who draw fan art out there, are they mangakas? Nope. And anime girl is just a term. More correctly it means anime-styled girl. And?
im not talking super detailed shit that why i said basic photoshop im currently making a game in rpgmv and using nothing but edits i used with Photoshop
Well you really should be using custom assets anyway. Nobody wants to see a game filled with models from an asset store where a thousand other games have used.
Well, I can't draw at all and I have absolutely little artistic talent in drawing or animation designing...I mean, I can see what I want from my mind but I can never put it on paper. At least I can somewhat use the engine database okay but once I get to plugin scripts, it's really bad. Yeah, I can understand some programming but that is it.
I agree. RPG Maker is not entirely for Professional game maker. Some people use it for fun, to express their imagination, like when they play a game. So not everyone wants to invest for the custom assets, nor doing something drastically like learn how to draw a manga from zero. Nor to learn how to play music instrument like guitar, piano, keyboard just to make the game bgm / sound effect.
visustella plugins replaced yanfly and cost some $ to implement unless this place wants to get into the plugin nabbing biz too. and MZ comes with a lot of premade assets to use in the database which I find highly useful. But some older resources from MV look better imo so I'm using those along with the newer artwork from MZ.
No need to sound like an ass yknow. Just cuz they feel comfortable with japanese doesn't mean you have to act like a bitch who was fucked with an old used condom.
Well, I remember a very old (supposedly software) Klick & Play. An old software to make a game; and we thought that it was a game to make a game. So maybe somebody think that RPG Maker is a game to make a game.
All I can think of when hearing "RPG Maker" are mediocre RPG's which can be broken really fast because most people don't know how to use the engine well. And yes, there exist also some really good games, especialy in the horror genre. But what most degenerates have in mind: More Hentai games! I mean... what? Hentai games with this engine are basically only a bunch of pictures. Nothing really major, compared to stuff made with a good engine. The last thing I have in mind when I hear "RPG Maker" is something porn related. And the first thing is "Vampires Dawn" and two really bad Zelda fangames, with a worse fighting system than "Dreamland".
You're kind of too stigmatized to r18 games. There are tons of good rpgmaker games that can break the limit of the stiff rpgmaker characteristics, and they're getting more popular. Not few anime + manga + novel adaptations are produced from rpg maker games.
Sadly RPG Maker has gained a massive stigma over the years, which can be blamed from the fact anyone can make a game with it. However that is the problem, anyone can make a game, but making a good game begs to differ. There are several games that are known but aren't acknowledged due to this stigma or merely from the extent of bad games made with it. One of the most known games made with RPG Maker would be To The Moon by FreeBird Games, which focused on the ability to tell stories. Made with RPG Maker XP, it showed how a effort and passion can make something beautiful. In the horror community we have games like Ao Oni and the One Night Series , games with two contrasting settings, one of high schoolers and the other of a man trying to survive. However while Ao oni didn't give me a fright, One Night gave me a feeling of tension as the game made advantage of this. These don't represent the community however and are merely just examples, one I liked and the other I didn't as much. Over in Rpg type games, we have a gem which admittedly sounds like a generic game, named Helen's Mysterious Castle, a game which which I can say few remember now. The game isn't amazing by any standards and it knows that, it doesn't try to be something more than a simple game made with RPG Maker. This however bleeds into that while some might not enjoy it, others would with other aspects of it. As said before though, its a hate it or love it type of game. A few mentions I would include are : Ara Fell by Stegosoft Games - This was originally made in RPG Maker 2003 however has now been remade in Unity. LiEat Trilogy by △○□× (Miwashiba) - Weird and wacky but drives a good narratvie to some. The Amber Throne by Joshua Missile - A game which shows how graphics can change how a game looks, this game isn't the best but has an endearing quality. The game has mixed feedback, however many agree its a interesting game with its story and watercolor like graphics. I would try to find more but it's admittedly hard to find amazing games from RPG Maker. But I think that's the point here, while the engine isn't the greatest and is very limited to certain genres at times, it helps spark passion for better projects. It allows others to help make a community greater, from less than Steller fangames to some of the most well crafted games (Fan game or not) using it. I think we need to stop thinking RPG Maker as just a game software for just RPGs and for a general game engine, one that isn't the most complex or exciting but one that helps put the building blocks for more. Overall the software isn't the best, heck maybe the worst taking how Wolf RPG came about, but it helps others understand the process of making a game and with each new edition created, it tries to streamline the experience, not just for new aspiring game developers but for those who just want to make something special. I'm not going to say you should use it, but writing it off when the majority are games of questionable quality doesn't justify labeling it as a mediocre game engine (even if it is sometimes). That ends my rant which holds no bearing on anyone's life. You can ignore or deconstruct it since it's only my opinion, doesn't have to line up with yours. I just grew up on those kind of games due to being easier to play processor wise. Either way its limited in many ways but making the most of it is where it counts. Anyways I do hope you are safe and your needs fulfilled. Have an extraordinary day or night wherever you are and take care.
quite a few of my favorite RPG games (not with rpgmaker mind you) were technically H-games, Utawarerumono, Eien no Aseria, few others i cant current remember the names of. though both games mentioned above had "all age" versions and Utaware got a remake on PS4 + 2 more games.
Upvoted simply because I saw Utawarerumono in there. Though I've never played the original, only the three games on PS4 (but I've seen both the anime series out currently - desperately waiting to see Anju beating the crap out of her enemies in Season 2 of the Masks series)
One of the best hentai games I've ever played was created with RPGMaker, and it was fantastic because the author aimed to create a good RPG experience first and a sex game second. Every single playable character have their own gimmick, and you can form parties that caters to your playstyle. It even felt like a deckbuilding TCG since you can, in fact, build a party around trapping the enemies and baiting them to do the dumbest of things before summarily destroying them mercilessly. It was truly a great game, and the sex scenes just felt like a nice bonus at that point.
i mean not a fan of undertales "gameplay" but it's comedy genius for a single playthrough (even if you just watch someone else play it like i did) also prob one of few games you can beat by not killing anyone 100% not rpgmaker though
I've googled.... it was made with GameMaker, since some things simply aren't possible in RPG maker. This is the reason why a very talented person in the RPG maker scene, who knows the engine in and out, didn't use it for his game. You might have heard of it, it's called "CrossCode".
Yea it's blatant not rpg maker but still similar. However, there are many ways to break the limit and make the impossible mechanics to happen in rpg maker; there are some games that proved it already (japanese, though). People need to be more creative in using engines...
Hentai games are a bunch of pictures actually, it's not about the engine you're using but the content you're giving to the player with those "pictures" you call it, the only conclusion after reading you is you never touched a thing like creating your own game, never interested on what makes a hentai game interesting and you're all gibberish on your statement.
"never interested on what makes a hentai game interesting" An interesting Hentai game is nearly impossible to make with an RPG Maker, I can tell you fucking that. The only hentai-thing that happens is just a shown picture, but when it comes to the animation and what not, this engine is crap. "you never touched a thing like creating your own game" Uhm yes... I did... even to "RPG Maker 2000" times. And yet, this engine isn't good enough for making worthwhile games. They start to be good after a heavy amount of scripting... and it's so much, you might as well program your own engine.
Kamidori is a bunch of pictures with actual gameplay, it's hard to believe some people consider hentai games as plain and boring while some other developers try the best on giving both contents: sex and gameplay
Shitty? Heh, your world is very narrow. See vgperson's translation site; tons and TONS of great rpgmaker games. And some games even made it into anime adaptation; you're just too clueless.
RPG Maker is often used by talented and skilled artists or storytellers who want to develop games yet lack the ability to program, hence programs like Unity and others are out of the line for them. I know many games made by talented developers using this program. Some are tear jerking, while others are memorable. For you to say that is ignorant.
Is it though, i personally don't like RPG maker games, specially if the game its porn they always make them with cheap CG and the story is mess the equivalent to cheap sakura games, were is the love?
So, you get a girlfriend just for sex? I thought love is more than just for sex, and girlfriend is more than just your sex doll. I get a girlfriend to get a love one that I can share my life with. Not just for sex, unfortunately. So I won't use cheap 2D pussy to replace that. So why not enjoying cheap 2D pussy for fun?
Can't. My brain can no longer learn complex things. And I have fucking tried. I have nothing but free time, still retained nothing. So, no, not everyone can learn Unity, you toolbag.
I can speak as an "indie developer" that people will always look for an easier way, rpg maker, it is easy to use and you don't need to learn many things to make a cool game, compared to unity or unreal :/
You kinda need both and more. Artistic abilities Know how to work a game engine like unity or unreal Know a programming language that these game engines support. C# is great for unity for example. Ohh and learn how to animate Ohh and learn to write scripts. Anyway it takes a lot.
... Drawing, animation, BGM, module, programing, testing and debugging, art, etc ... RPGMaker need all that ... Even Unity and Unreal also need that ... Yeah I know plenty of it, but since I don't have Artistic skill, I can't make whatever game I wish to ...
yeah i did it for a year it became to much solo when you have to animate , , write music , code , level design , game design , all while have a project optimized and satisfy others curiosity came to a point i was starting to hate video games haha in the youtube game dev scene people do not want to see gameplay they want to see heavy edits and meme content now a days
many japanese game developer using this sort of stuff recently and made game and sell it. I play a lot of hentai game actually and they made using this rpgmarker engine.
... Not so sure ... at past IGG also upload Cracked Software which NOT a game ... so I still expecting this get cracked ... RPG X,XV, Ace ... MX, MV, MZ ... and the function is getting better and better ...

All comments asking for updates have been deleted. Any further such comments will also be deleted.
Anybody know if the legit updates are compatible with this? If I download this, THEN update with legit updates, will it work?
Thanks in advance.
do people just make games for themselves just because?
Would love someones opinion.

Again, sorry about this. It's all my fault for not checking if the file was still there after uploading it the first time. :(
Isn't it supposed to be 1.1 now?

I'm not ignorant about the basic photoshop myself. But I'm not a mangaka. Nor want to be one.

And anime girl is just a term. More correctly it means anime-styled girl.
And?
"Mangaka is an artist. But an artist doesn't mean to be a mangaka."
Those are actually old games and with no 18+ content (except LISA: the painful which includes gore, and violence etc)
And yes, there exist also some really good games, especialy in the horror genre.
But what most degenerates have in mind: More Hentai games!
