since the game returns to steam and for those who want to change their save version, and/or change between versions, you can do this:
make backup of this folder: C:\Users\PCNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Soda Den\Roots of Pacha
reinstall or update the game.
Just start the game 1 time to create the new save folders and then close the game.
In C:\Users\PCNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Soda Den\Roots of Pacha\saves, the steam ID number associated with the save will appear, both the previous save and a new one. Here you must change the name of your save to the new number.
With this, only the world will be saved but not the character, so that the character can also be saved, the steam ID must be changed within the save.json and header.json files that are in one of the C:\ folders Users\PCNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Soda Den\Roots of Pacha\saves
With this I was able to play on steam with my cracked game save.
English is not my first language so I used the translator
No, I've abandoned the idea of updating that game honestly. :/
The first update is just not responding, nothing happens when I click on it. No UI is showing. I've tried to launch it from multiple locations (the download folder, inside and outside the Roots of Pacha folder). I've tried to launch it on admin mode. I've tried to reinstall the game in another folder. I've tried to redownload the patch on every links, in case some of them would be broken. Doesn't do a thing. I don't know why it works for some people. (I'm on Windows10 btw)
Same with me. I've tried installing with all firewalls and antivirus off too, just in case. tried installing it to a new set of folders in C:\Games\Roots of Pacha. Still nothing happens when i click the patch.
Where did you install the game? You have to target the Main game folder. If you don't know how, right click on the game shortcut/exe then "Open file location". Copy the folder location and put it when you execute the updates.
I did that and it didn't help. All patches got installed just fine, only the last one, 1.0.10, stops installing at 85% and says that it isn't suitable for my game version (1.0.9).
So, Apparently, my laptop just can't seem to run the update.exe files, but my computer can, so I installed it on my usb and just did the updates on the computers
And PS. Multiplayer does indeed work, tho I tested mine on LAN only, just created a room and put in the code and the other player joined
And if it seemed to freeze up during syncing, it's not, just wait for a bit
just a heads up to those who want to play multiplayer
there's a file called tenoke.ini somewhere in the files, go and change your steam id in the files, otherwise, the game will literally confuse you for the other player
I played for sometime in local coop, was able to reach day 2. But suddenly there was a connection problem and player 2 disconnected. Later after I finished the day, tried to play together again. But that time, two player 1 with same character is showing. Player 2 completely vanished.
Ps. We both did change the steam id from tenoke.ini file.
What do i do? Help?
Solution: Just did some tinkering and found out I was the dum dum. In the tenoke.ini file, change the account id part. Example- change 0x1234 to 0x1235 and so on for more players.
I tried repair issues with saves, and now my game isnt loading... Also patches aren't working, I don't have any idea what should I do. Please, someone help me fix it, because i'm so pissed at this moment on myself lol I made it worse:v
you first have to make a network and give it a name and password then the other person who will play with you join to this network then in the game you will host by using ip from the network you create other person will use this ip to join the game but make sure that you are connected to the network
Oh yes, we did the same for Stardew and terraria and a bunch of other games using Hamachi, this is different : ( I thought You tried this game and made the co-op work, thank You though!
since this is a cracked game... probably not? but there is a way to multiplayer with some of these games on steam by disguising it as spacewar. gl with googlefu
Thank You for telling me! Challenge accepted! It will be a long and hard journey to figure it out... having in mind I had to google "googlefu" to begin with : D Stay healthy, stay amazing!
Edit: I think I disguised it but still have the "Custom Authentication failed" thing : (
that probably is the correct way, but if you're still getting an error it might be doing multiplayer another way, i remember the spacewars thing because another site would by default enable the multiplayer exploit on all the games it could which annoyed me to no end
Good game so far! Very similar to Stardew Valley but in a different setting and with a few twists of its own. One thing I've noticed is that it allows you to locate NPCs on the map, something you can't do in SV without mods. Very useful!
you need to install the updates in order (0.4, 0.7, 0.8 etc.) instead of just installing the latest one (0.12), just overwrite the Roots of pacha folder and don't create a new one inside, in the "update" folder you have to click on the patch and there it is updated.
I hope you have understood my English is not very good and I am using the translator
hi, does anyone know how to transfer a save from this version to the steam, when I copy the save I only have a save of the world, but the character tells me to make a new one
Hey, I was playing online with my sister, and yesterday when I tried to play, the game had saved my character over hers, and her character was just gone, telling her to create a new character when she tried to load the game, and booted it back to the beginning, anyone knows how to fix that? Everything is still the same in the header and save.json
Why I can't save my progress? I go to bed, see that my progress is saved, but when I loading game again, I dont have any save file... How I can repair it, help:c I tried several times and still have this problem

I have "CustomAuthentificationFailed" when trying to create multiplayer party.
Anyway to go through that ?

This is what is says when I click multiplayer

I did it like this:
Probably not the correct way of disguising it?
