Well if what he is saying is true and the original game ran at 60 FPS on the SNES released in 1995-1998, then the "Remaster" released on stronger hardware is being set to 30 FPS, that would seem to be what you would call a Downgrade. So I would be pretty upset if they changed the performance of the original game as well. So looking at your avatar, what if they halved the original FPS of your crash bandicoot game? You would be pretty upset too wouldn't you?
A turn based game can look way different from 30 to 60 fps. I have problems some times where lower FPS games actually hurt my eyes or give me motion sickness. So it's not always a "PC master race" thing. Even on console, I have xbox one and switch, sometimes I can't stand the 24-30 fps games because it makes my head feel weird and my eyes hurt.
but its a turn based game !! i bet people who complain in this one will complain anyway if visual novel game come out with 30 fps ! its like what's the meaning of gaming in general if u keep looking for perfomance details n miss the fun ! i found most of pc gamers are just fps fetishers
As an exclusively PC gamer I'm actually uncomfortable when my games run that fast, it's almost like the game runs too smoothly and it becomes difficult to control. Unpopular opinion, but I think 30fps is ideal, even on PC :x
Original version had 60fps true, but 30 fps is enough for games like this. It's not a big deal for me. I hope that it has better plot than Octopath Traveler which was so boring.
for mobiles and handhelds makes sense to be 30 fps but for pc its quite offensive also i agree about octopath traveler story being a little meh but all the eye-candy special effects and the playstation 1 feeling are the reason its a good game
you should try "I Am Setsuna" even though its not 2d pixel. the gameplay, graphics, and story are all on point. theres also Cross-Code which is 2d pixel actually that games amazing!!
"I am Setsuna" is a game I need to return to playing. It is definitely a good game. Doesn't really break any new ground, but nothing wrong with that. It's not perfect as it has its flaws and quirks. But overall, what I did play through was genuinely enjoyable.
been wanting to play i am setsuna since the day it was release years ago, but i have to stop cause the mouse and keyboard control just make me drop the game, i dont have a controller crosscode on the other hand, newgame++++++ even bought the game, worth every penny.
cant say im a fan of this atrocious leveling up system. but the story so far is http://nice.im at the part where i have to buy businesses an i have no idea what im doing lol
Yeah, I didn't like the leveling system when I played the original, and I still don't like it. Especially with how random it seems. Short fight, guy uses one weapon, and then gets skill in another weapon.
mobiles and handhelds have a point to be 30 fps but PC? i mean squaresoft a company with lot of money, using that pointless drm denuvo on some games and cant make one to run at 60 fps instead they port the handheld version like the lazy fucks they always been
The vita can be excused for having 30 frames or less. It's a handheld console, but this is pretty unforgivable and lazy from the devs. You're better off playing the fan translated rom on a PC, or whatever platform you're on
meh i will pass this one 30 fps cap they cant be serious meanwhile octopath traveler got denuvo removed now thats something interesting to look forward
The 30fps doesn't really impact on the game. I mean, its not like its cutting edge graphics where the difference between 30 fps and even 40 fps will make a huge difference.
Just started the game, max res is 1080p and the backgrounds are not high res (not that 1080p backgrounds would have such a size to add up to 1,89 gigs) and I don't see OST and Artbook/Manual being included. Feels more like Unity overhead or artificial bloat. Btw. the mouse controls are also horrible tagged on crap. You have to guess what buttons to press as it only shows X-Input controls but not what keyboard buttons to press. Like the screen for naming the character, where you can't leave with using the mouse alone. I would prefer a language patched SNES ROM. But sadly there doesn't seem to be a 100% complete patch out as http://Romhacking.net doesn't have one.
It actually does, most of the SNES rpgs run at 60 fps on the console. It is hard to believe, but that's the truth. Capping this to 30 fps is just the devs being lazy. And I just tested it on snes9x, and it's running at 60 frames constantly. https://i.imgur.com/HnvhSpg.jpg
on the CONSOLE? bruh it is on an emulator. it runs differently. also it would output differently since the algorithm is different between hardware encoding vs software encoding
It doesn't run differently. There's a reason it's called an "emulator", because it emulates the console's capabilities. Also this might be the dumbest thing I've read in a while to be honest.
emulators might emulate the console, but not in the same way as the console. With any form of emulation, it is also dependent on the hardware of the system you are emulating on and how the emulator was modified to run on the different architecture.
emulation /ɛmjʊˈleɪʃ(ə)n/ COMPUTING reproduction of the function or action of a different computer, software system, etc. The emulator emulates the console's capabilities. If the game runs 60 fps on a console it will run 60 fps on an emulator. If the game is capped to 30 fps on a console, it'll run at 30 fps on an emulator. It's not that hard to understand. Guess it is for some people. I've been dealing with emulation ever since the first bleem emulator and I don't like when someone spews dumb shit like the dude above. PC hardware only makes a difference in more demanding emulators like PCSX2, RPCS3, Xenia, etc. And, while you can enable frameskipping or disable the frame limit that the game has been set by the devs, this doesn't mean that the game will run like that constantly, and it wouldn't be playable. For example, if you wanted to play a PS1 game, that's natively 30 fps, at 60 fps, the game would run in turbo mode and it wouldn't be playable.
I played the original snes version , and i highly suggest you guys to try this one too . Its not your typical jrpg . It has in depth story , 8 playable starting character ( i dont know if they change this ) each with their own backstory , deep game mechanics + a bunch of minigame like managing a business company and managing a group of army in a war . once again , give it a try for a few hours
The original game was made in 1995. The first RPG Maker may have been made around 8 months before this originally came out, but it had nothing to do with its development.
So looking at your avatar, what if they halved the original FPS of your crash bandicoot game? You would be pretty upset too wouldn't you?
they release a game for mobile,
mobiles by default are 30fps
these lazy bums port it to pc and done
but for pc its quite offensive
also i agree about octopath traveler story being a little meh

Crosscode agree
did you take the pills that i told you son?

30fps are considered garbage on pc
capped to 30fps
< snes version is 60fps

that makes sense why its quite big for a snes game
Maybe if it has OST as FLAC, high quality artbook and so on included.
but remaster with 30fps cap now thats ridiculous

heres some living proof

maybe what you meant is "it is runnable at 60 fps using some emulator"
it also run at 60 fps on the original snes
i remember that game along with chrono trigger being played in a traditional market long time ago
