Thx IGG for this Full Release. It is unbalanced,i would recommend it only for very patient gamers. Till unlocking the first character(wolf-guy,who makes the gaming alot easier), it is abit too difficult at the beginning, especially for casual gamers.🤗🤖🤓
not a big fan of card games they bore me so fast theres a few exceptions tho like slay the spire and griftlands now if you speak about real life card games only poker
I don't think that Slay the Spire was good. It is so heavily dependent on getting the right cards for an effective deck. Loot rewards and the merchant don't always have the cards that I need. Also, I find it boring.
You sure? Ultimately, all of their gameplay rely on fickle luck (i.e. getting randomized cards for deck-building and the luck of the draw during matches), leaving the other aspects to be the only things worth comparing.
Slay the Spire has ass for art and animation, for one. The sprites have only one set of animations: wobbling about, looking like they are breathing. Are you sure "every other game like this look like trash" when Slay the Spire is even more budget-title than the others?
Not really. On the standard difficulty (non ascension runs) as long as you know what you're doing you will win 99% of runs, regardless of RNG. Winning comes from knowing the game. The thing that makes StS special is you are constantly faced with interesting double edged choices that you have to weigh against each other and use your knowledge to come out on top. On high Ascension runs you can definitely lose even if you made all the right moves, but the same still applies. There is chance involved but dismissing it as merely "relying on fickle luck" is shortsighted, I actually think it's one of the best games of all time.
Why silent and ironclad? If anything they're the least consistent of the bunch imo. I've finished the game completely, and I don't feel like being able to win 99% of non ascension runs is an exaggeration at all, it would be lower if you always went for the heart but that isn't required for a victory and you're supposed to judge whether you should be going for it or not. If you are losing on A0 then you're making mistakes, plain and simple. I would even say the majority of times I've lost in high ascension runs I felt like it was my fault and could pinpoint mistakes I made.
I would only make statements like "making mistakes" and "plain and simple" if the gameplay puts more things in the player's control. Deck-builders don't do much of that.
StS is primarily a roguelite. If you got all the 'right cards' most/all of the time, it'd REALLY be boring as shit. The very concept of roguelites depends on the player trying to 'make do with the limited/unconventional stuff you're offered' and/or to 'smartly try to manouver around the game mechanics in a way that will turn the trash you're offered into (potentially) gold' In other words, either roguelites simply aren't for you... or you're just shit at StS.
I have played rogue-lites that have more emphasis on skill. The Binding for Isaac, for example. Deck-builders and card battles make for shit rogue-lites. Too much fucking luck involved.
Oh sure, the "you don't like it because you suck" comeback. Fuck you. I have heard this many times before from people who run out of good arguments. That said, don't bother replying. You have been added to my blocklist.
"Preorder to gain immediate access to the Roguebook demo..." It doesn't matter if crappy AAA publishers do this or indie devs... it's dumb and makes absolutely no sense.
update your browser or try using a different browser, i do not receive them on firefox even with ABP disabled, i also removed your comment from the game request section because it is not a request, you can make a post in the faq section here: https://igg-games.com/if-237919870-any-problem-please-call-me.html IGG checks it every few days and he may be able to help with the ad situation
Yaaas! It's finally here. Those who know what this is ... well they know. And those who don't but are interested in a combination of rougelites, deck-building with a hint of Darkest Dungeon's combat and a bunch of other things, then this is for you. Also, the artwork is beyond charming. This gets my golden seal of approval ... which means nothing to anyone except for me 🤡 It's a shame Faeria remaines uncracked, to which this is somewhat a spiritual successor.
Let me elaborate since I may have done a poor job using that comparison. By a "hint of Darkest Dungeon" I simply meant that the combat is sensitive to the position of your heroes. There are actions a hero can take when in front that they can't do when they are at the back, and vice versa. And there are ways to switch the position of heroes during combat. That is all I meant. I may have chosen a suboptimal frame of reference to explain this.
I don't think so. I think this is actually the full version even though on Steam there are still 4 hours left until launch 😄 I believe this is the 'pre-ordered' version which has been available to the customers since 2 days ago. I feel devilishly happy playing this actually before the official launch 🏴☠️
TLDR; I'd say Faeria (exists on IGG but has cracking issues and can't be run). The recently released Griftlands is also another game that shares somewhat similar elements. Also, if you're interested you may want to check the link below with suggests games similar to Roguebook based on Steam tags: (Hopefully adding this link doesn't violate any IGG ToS) https://steampeek.hu/?appid=1076200
----------- Honestly, I don't know of any other games that has all (or even most) of the elements present in Roguebook, which in turn makes it unique. Most deck-builders put too much emphasis on 'card combat' and that's it. At best they include one more additional gimmick to elevate them above other deck-builders (like Monster Train), but usually that's it. With Roguebook however, you have deck-building, a cleverly designed open-map to explore, an ally system, optional battles, positional combat, and a hero upgrading system. They've clearly put a lot of effort into this and I personally haven't seen anything quite like it. But then again, I'm not an aficionado when it comes to deck-builders. I'm sure there are others here that can think of better matches.
Yeah, most games don't stray further from the norm. That being said I did play some in early access in the past that had quite a few unique and fun things to play around with. I was simp for those kinds of games at one time... Since I didn't buy them, I lost the titles I wanted to check out after full release. There're games out there but some just don't come under the radar... I played Griftlands when it was first cracked day one... Lacked card variations, good story and unique gameplay mecs. Will check out after some new dlc or big update. And hope Faeria gets a stable crack... lol
Indeed, man. Good news is, there are quite a few new games coming in 2022 or even late 2021 that are following Roguebook's example. With the revival of genre in the past couple of years and now saturation of the market, the devs are catching up with the fact that a dry normal card game is no long going to cut it, and they have to come up with interesting mechanics on top of the card aspect. And don't worry about those Early Access games you've missed. I'm sure if they turn out to be good ones, you'll hear about them soon enough. I'm quite optimistic about the future of deck-builders. There is an ocean of potential here that devs are starting to tap into.
Thanks for the update to 1.6.4
requested updates for 1.5.7 on game requests

That's just an exaggeration and you know that. "99%" indeed.
