I think you replied on the wrong game. This has no horse or is it Kingdom but you press Shift or double tap the <- / -> key on your keyboard to make the horse run fast. As for loading maybe your system has issues with the game.

I dont know why, I just saw someone having same your problems (But I tested on my PC, I dont get this problem), and this is proper version too. You can try search on steam forum, too.
