Not a good game at all, they tried to combine 2 genres that don't go well together and then made the beginner mistake of adding time pressure to a deck builder while also creating difficulty by nothing but plain bad mechanics.
The worst thing though is that the game got worse over time after a very promising start. The Devs clearly have no idea what they are doing balance wise and just threw and still throw together whatever comes to their mind without understanding their own game and it's mechanics.
I know this is a harsh critique but I bought since way back in early access and played it a lot, thinking that, over time, I'd learn how the game has to be played. But that's not the problem. The entire game is pure RNG cause there are only a handful of strategies that allow to reach the end of a run and some of the leaders are outright unable to win because of their dysfunctional mechanics that literally don't work cause everything is all over the place and the difficulty is artificial (randomly boosting the wave strength and giving the creeps cheap workarounds for defenses that the player CAN NOT overcome most of the times due to an overload of absolute trash cards) making the entire game basically pure RNG.
Edit: This is obviously my personal opinion but I encourage everyone to check the steam ratings and pay close attention to the playtime of most positive reviews vs the negative ones. It seems as if a lot of people who play this game for a longer time come to the conclusion that it is just not as good of a game as the flood of thumbs up from people who play it for 1-10 hours make it seem.
Well my personal opinion think the game mechanic is great and its force u to plan ur resource and card efficiently but ur right about the difficulty balancing it so bad that if u ever lose slightly can make the game unwinnable.
Having fun for more than 1-10 hours is more than enough to make it a good game, especially if you haven't paid a penny to its developers. Show some respect, pirate.
I actually own the game as well, bought it way before it was suddenly turned into crap & no 10 hrs of "fun" is not worth the money it cost. It isn't even worth the money it costs now. Certainly it doesn't mean a game is good by any stretch of imagination. Also trying to insult someone as a pirate while clearly being here for free games yourself is fairly idiotic. The persons I'd have to thank for are the people running this site as well as the guys cracking games. Not the developers of bad games.
That aside nothing of what you wrote invalidates any of the stuff I pointed out about the games issues.
