ERE Informatique had a sublabel, Exxos, who released three games. Purple Saturn Day, Captain Blood, and KULT. Very weird, very French games from the late 80s.
A particular taste for psychedelic surrealism. Take a look at the animated films Le Planete Sauvage and Gandahar. Also graphic novel The Nikopol Trilogy. PS: Love Captain Blood and the follow-up, Commander Blood. Sadly its sequel never got released outside of France (and Canada?).
Damnit, now you got me. I had Commander Blood (too), but never recognized that it was the Captain Blood follow-up (until Shub-Niggurath and you spit it out). Now i`m gonna check those films out.
Never really got into Chamber of the Sci-Mutant Priestess / KULT (PC) and Commander Blood besides playing a few minutes into them. Especially Commander Blood was... odd... When they are now starting to bring back Amiga games under Windows, I would love to get Ambermoon, Lionheart, Darkmere and so on, without blurring or HQ2X BS but scanlines as an option.
The graphics style reminds me of Captain Blood which I had on my Amiga and ST.Yep published by Infogrammes they used this weird style for some of their games Kult spring to mind as well.
You mean that strange C64 game? I forgot the name, but yes it really looks like it. I remember playing it between 1989 and 1994 a lot, but never understood how the traveling worked.
