Set resolution to maximum, game broke. Set it back to default, game still somehow broken. Restarted it, game finally works. Found out that in the game, the fucking graveyard (which is of course absolutely essential) is at the edge of the shitass map and I would have to go there all the time.
What a piece of shit, at least it didn't waste too much of my time
