some games sadly just don't get the updates possibly ever. (rather that be because no1 can, it's difficult, causes issue, just don't feel like it, etc... is unknown but ya many games fall into this boat some never even get 1 update let alone most recent)-->regardless if asked in proper channel or not as in though does help at times. Just found it elsewhere (just google) really not worth it all the dlcs are weak ... all game really does is make me wana play Xcom 2 / Xcom 2 Long War (don't think I actually got around to playing don't remember)/ Xcom 2 Wotc again.
setup.exe just seems to crash whenever I try to open it without any errors! It just opens and closes and sometimes not opens at all. tried to run as admin but stil the same, anyone got a fix for this?
Try easy for your first campaign to get a feel for the game. Then when you're comfortable try again in normal. And persevere. I needed half a dozen attempts before really succeeding in the endgame ... Good luck !
In the archive, but it isn't very clear. When you change directory it creates ANOTHER directory. So like C:/phoenixpoint/phoenixpoint for instance. You have to -delete- the second entry so it looks like C:/phoenixpoint (or wherever you installed) then it works fine.
It means you have one shot on your gun, and depending on where it hits it could do 25-35 dmg... Is it really that complicated? Different body parts have different armor. It all shows in the info if you left click on an entity, or on free aim.
When running the setup.exe after mounting the iso it says Windows can't access the file. Running as admin changed nothing. What does this crack want me to do. PS: Comment sections should be reserved for people troubleshooting getting the game to work. I do not fucking care aboot your Epic game store controversy, I'd just like to be able to try the game.
I wish you would stop wasting my time. The comment section shouldn't be filled with people whining and complaining about business, fuck off and leave it for the people trying to get the game to work..
So you're shitposting against shitposting ? Divide by zero much ..? And anyway these forums are pretty much "100% free speech enabled". You could post a recipe for chocolate cookies or even origami techniques. Don't ruin this bastion of freedom please. Attica Attica Attica !!!
i remember back when i think darksiders 3 (or some other popular game) came out, there was this girl who posted a video about the "dangers of killing cows" and going around the comment section telling people to either f*ck off or eat plants. or the time there was a Filipino dude who'd was proud of describing his sexual fetish of little girls. i totally agree with you, this website's comment section is weird.
you rarely may find one the mods instant perm ban them but my previous comment was meaning in general here where i live sometimes i see a bunch of moron sjw or redneck trump supporters saying their bullshit
The Game is really broken for me. Not on the crack side of things, the game works fine. I'm talking about the overall gameplay. It worked up until 10 hours in the campaign where one of my airships is literally soft locked in place, and since the game saves just before and just after a mission, this problem happened before I entered the mission so my entire savegame was just worthless. 6 level 5 and 6 squad members stuck forever in one of my two airships, unable to move or do anything in fact. I tried everything from reloading and restarting, but since they are incapable like most devs making use of unity properly, they failed in my books. Not only that, A.I. ships did the same, stuck in place forever even as their haven was destroyed. They just hover there on the spot cuz the game thinks they are mobile but also thinks they already arrived. Because they had to include a dumb animation that ticks just as an airship arrives anywhere, if you just in time go into a mission then, it bugs it out cuz there was never the 'finished' tick. This is just scratching the surface. The gameplay is incredibly repetitive, it isn't until hours into the game you get anything new at all. For hours it's just the same missions, most being resource gathering missions, etc. The game is also not very well optimized. I'd say it's about mediocre. My PC specs are over the recommended and some areas still lag the shit out of the game on medium sized maps. Zooming in or out doesn't matter, it's for some reason spots on the map that lag it to bits. I only had that happen once so far but still. This game had backer builds for months now and it contains bugs that softlocks you entirely, making you have to restart the campaign.
ehm...in my case the alien/or human enemy turns are infinite, the same enemy can repeat more of 10 time the same action killing my entire squad or this is a anti piracy tactic from the devs or the game is perfectly broke
I doubt it's an anti piracy tactic. It doesn't humiliate someone, neither does it fix their piracy problem. They went with the epic games store exclusive, so people are going to refuse to buy it. Besides, many people get a crack for the game first to see if it even works on their system, especially when it isn't on steam, unable to be refunded. Some even do it to see if they would enjoy the game at all. I buy a game when I see the devs put their heart into it and aren't backstabbing their fanbase. As well as being able to deliver a fully functioning and fun game on launch.
It is good to think that, is that remember the news that some time ago some developers deliberately released an altered code of the game so that the players were punished for stealing it, that's why I spoke from the hypothetical, but I hope that all this is fixed with the following updates like what happened to No Man's sky
Hi i've problem with the installer, when I try to install the game it said me "Cannot Create Gamefolder (Admin RIghts ?). I've try to run it in admin but it doesn't work
Gotta love how the included readme text file contain no actual instructions on how to make it work. Just a message aboot being a "gamer family" where there's absolutely no tech support in the comments and just people bickering over exclusivity deals
No amount of money is gonna make me play this game. Unless the devs of this game commit suicide right this instant for what they did, I might think about it.
I wish you would stop wasting my time. The comment section shouldn't be filled with people whining and complaining about business, fuck off and leave it for the people trying to get the game to work.
Wishing death on Julian Gollop - the original X-Com creator - is pretty strange from a gamer. Not that it would be better on anyone else mind, just weird to wish harm on a creative genius who gave us one of the best games ever that spawned a huge and successful franchise.
On one hand, he gave us X-Com. On the other hand, he's being a total dickbag. Wanting him dead is a bit too far, but I wouldn't mine seeing an asshole die. Yes, I'm talking about Julian Gollop. Filthy sellout betrayed the trust of his kickstarter donors.
But he gave compensations in the form of steam keys as soon as available, free dlcs and even refunds for the unhappiest. And an AMA to explain and apologize profusely. Of course he effed-up in the first place by betraying his commitment to steam - but I think he did all he could damage control-wise and gracefully at that. Some people just can't forgive and move on, on principle. Maybe people could meet him halfway and not Torquemada his ass so much ..? The whole Steam/Epic feud is pretty much BS IMHO anyway. Gaming bigotry 101. Or maybe I don't fully understand the situation ? Feel free to explain it to me then. I'm all ears. Or eyes more like.
Are you serious? This isn't even about betraying Steam. This is about betraying his fanbase, who helped hype up the game and supported it financially. He basically used his fanbase as an interest-free bank loan and free PR campaign. And then he gleefully screw them all over when Epic wave a bunch of money at his face.
Point taken. I get the anger and feeling of betrayal. I still think that the backers that don't care that much about the epic/steam controversy got their game. The ones that hate Epic so much they'd rather boycott a game they'd love and hurt a creator's reputation and a game's (or even franchise's) future make a weird statement. "I hate Epîc so much that I'd rather dump on a guy who makes things I love because I don't want to install a new launcher for a year (then uninstall it or whatever)". He didn't take the money and run. He made the game - and pretty much respected both his initial vision and roadmap (albeit with a slight delay). But he switched launcher. To protect the future of his company - and of future games. Capital offense it seems. Maybe go check what's happening with Star Citizen and then understand it could have turned way worse. EDIT or check the career of Peter Molyneux. Now that was a real shit show.
The backers do care about the Epic/Steam controversy. They even requested refunds from him. How do you not know this? The fact is that he promised for it to be on Steam . Also, everyone has their reasons for not wanting to install another Epic's launcher on their system. Who are you to judge? You might think it's stupid, but it doesn't change the fact that a promise was broken because of corporate greed. Also, destroying the trust and goodwill of your entire fanbase isn't good for the future of your company. Just take a look at how Marvel and DC are doing right now. He's just a greedy asshole with no integrity. Yes, there are worse people than him. So? Doesn't excuse him for what he had done. I'm starting to suspect you're a paid shill.
Unfortunately no - I'm not paid for this. Pro bono. As I said - he did break his promise about the Steam release. Kind of - it's delayed (by a year I believe ?) not canceled. Reasons to not install the Epic launcher ? Ok. As I said : I don't understand. Never said "stupid" or "no good reason". Just - I don't understand. ELI5 those reasons if you've got the patience for it ? As for destroying the trust and goodwill of the entire fanbase ... No. There seems to be at least some backers still on board even after the reveal. As far as I can see on tiddeR anyway. I'd even argue most of the backers are still on board - some probably grumbling along to be fair but still on board ? I think the malcontents are the minority. Feel free to correct me if you have a source - I don't. Marvel is doing fine by the way ? I don't see your point here. DC ... is another story. But isn't it more about the quality of the movies than about some betrayal to their fanbase ? Or maybe it's just another story I don't fully understand.
why do some people don't understand the hate for epic , it's the principle and the way they manage. Result is not the point here. it's like your Girlfriend just fucked someone and sent you the recorded vid then come back to be with you later anyway. IT IS NOT FINE.
i don't understand all the hate for epic. The way I see it their main "sin" is giving indie dev a bigger share of the profits for a year of exclusivity.
I'd feel like an idiot for choosing a wife with that kind of attitude to be honest ... And then I'll pack my stuff and go. Or pack her stuff and throw her out - depending on who's name is on the house. But the important question is - who'd keep the cat ?!?
As much as I understand from a couple of articles and from the people willing to debate about it - not many let me tell you - it's also because of the fear of Tencent (the Chinese parent company) using Epic as a front to steal data or influence - whether it's justified or not is another debate. Also, people don't like to "have" to install a new launcher for some games - it feels like forcing their hand. And the launcher is pretty bad too - oil to the fire. And finaly Epic is a symbol of "money will let you win any battle". Pretty commendable when you're Batman - here it feels like throwing money to the face of people to artificially buy popularity. Also Steam used gamers as a spear against Epic - see Metro Exodus - just by issuing messages about "the unfairness of Epic". See my above post for 2 articles about it if you're interested.
is anyone nice enough to give me the crack only in the hoodlom folder? My stupid pc kinda delete it and i cant restore it, redownload everything is just a pain in the ass...
Yeah, it was also made by the guy who bent over and opened wide for Epic Games, so they can pack all that yummy money up his ass until he can spit the change out.
You mean the guy who wanted to assure the future of his company by making a financial deal in a very competitive market ? Or the guy who single handedly created one of the best 90's game so good it spawned a multi million dollar franchise 20 years later ? I'm not sure who really got something up his butt here...
You seem to be unfamiliar with what they did. The devs originally made a Kickstarter campaign to fund the development of their game, and promised for the game to be on Steam. But at the last minute (after being overfunded) they betrayed their donors by making a deal with the devil. Due to Epic's money, they say no Steam and broke their promise to their fans who gave them the financial means to make the damn game. Even hell is too good for these sellouts.
So... Epic is the Devil ? You really have to elaborate on that. I still don't get the whole Epic witch-hunt. Any logical reason to be unhappy a monopoly on pc gaming opens to another contender ? I really don't get it. EDIT ok i've been misdirecting the debate - this is NOT about Epic vs Steam it seems. Just about changing storefront.
Yeah I'm familiar with the full story - even went and read the reddit AMA they did during the PR shitstorm - and I do understand. What I don't understand though is the order of magnitude of the drama : he offered everything to placate the unhappy : Steam keys on top of Epic's, free DLCs and even refunds. Of course he effed-up in the first place by betraying his commitment to steam - but I think he did all he could damage control-wise and gracefully at that. Some people just can't forgive and move on, on principle. Sound like bigotry to me. Or even Inquisition since - murder and hell promises and all that.
how exactly do you install it? i downloaded the three parts and uncompressed them, then the hoodlum, and i now have two "phoenix point" folders, what do i do? :(
What? "Then the hoodium"? You only need to select ONE part to uncompress, with them all in the same folder they will auto uncompress one after another creating ONE phoenix point folder.... Have you never used a computer before?
I'm pretty sure all Microsoft games released on Steam so far have had no DRM. Also no mention of Denuvo etc on Steam. I wonder if its something do with the Xbox Live intergration or something. In fact i'm going to look on Reddit piracy and see what they are saying
The original guys? Cause people love to talk about how the newer X-coms were hard but the originals back in the day were "pulling out your own hair" brutal. I broke more than one keyboard playing Terror from the Deep. lol
Terror from the Deep was the best X-Com game ever, they should make a remake for sure, the idea and the storyline of that game is one the best in any videogame ever, they could even make movies with that idea.
It's my favorite too. It's pretty crazy how it manages to be both one of the most fun and most frustrating games I've ever played. Makes me feel like a battered wife. It kept kicking the shit out of me but I could never stop coming back for more.
Your analogy is pretty disturbing but I found it funny as hell. Damn I must be a bad person... And accurate too - that game is abusing you at every turn. And we kept coming back for more !!!
Try X-Piratez or The X-Com Files if you want a fresh take on the original X-Com; the former feels like an entirely new game (in as much something running on the X-Com base can), necessitating different strategies in a lot of areas, while the latter comes across as more of a 'Rise of X-Com'... I mean, your starting squad is two MiBs in a black sedan. XD
yup, the way I;'m reading it the guy that created X-com made a team and this was his project. I've been playing it for a few weeks, they sent an advanced copy. It's a pretty tightly woven X-com like, right down to customizing your troops and the cut-ins for battle sequences. I think it's a bit tighter than X-Com was. And the mechanics are solid, just need a sorta beefy PC to run at high specs is all.
Yep, I understand that. And got many games like that. Ive played a lot UFO: Enemy Unknown (1994) and X-COM: Terror from the Deep (1995). I dont like new ones.
Thats what people want though, the slower and more refined gameplay of old Halo, before eveything went all twitch shooter with COD. Besides i want it for the campaign anyway.
(rather that be because no1 can, it's difficult, causes issue, just don't feel like it, etc... is unknown but ya many games fall into this boat some never even get 1 update let alone most recent)-->regardless if asked in proper channel or not as in though does help at times.
