I played the demo, I played this version and the steam version, this game is shit, don't play it, justo don't, it doesn't worth it, I love this kind of strategy games but...this is...a chinese game..
yeah its nothing like what was being promised on tiktok. I was excited..now to the point of the meeting room which seems to crash due to some access violation(think its a random check if game is legit) which will now work as my point of quitting..unless they make some major changes
Unavoidable crash point? (After second forest run, it is too quick of a crash to skip this cutscene, but someone said you can quit to menu before the crash and get around it possibly.)
Honestly not sure I'll even get to the gameplay. Any moving object causes terrible artifacting no matter using FSR, XESS or TSR and you have to use one of them. As if every object has motion blur on it.
Edit: The terrible motion artifacting was worse during the tutorial with random humans around often, in regular gameplay I don't notice this issue so much. Stuck to FSR balanced with frame generation, it is ok on 980ti. The game is pretty interesting but I see why all the complaints are here when all the excitement from the trailers is actually only 10% of the gameplay. The other 90% is running around barren maps looting trash and materials (and rarely equipment) which feels nothing like the exciting game the trailers show. But I'll keep playing for a while yet, it's certainly not near bottom rung of garbage games.
Second Edit: Went to every single node for first and second mission, actually enjoying the game. There is a crash on the cutscene you must watch after this point, where I don't think you have enough time to hold to skip before the crash. This is fixed from some patches on steam that came out already.
Also, doesn't seem possible to port save to steam, replacing everything for sure, with no other backups, loading save just sends to new game and then you'll have nothing after the tutorial.
Third Edit: Starting over was fine, game is really quite fun. After clearing an area at certain difficulty once, you can just skip most areas for slightly higher energy cost and get right to the action and only spend time looting the really good areas. (Gas Station and School in forest are great). Patches keep coming out fixing bugs and crashes though the common crash from opening strategic mode isn't fixed yet.
So the crash was something else for me. However related to your third update. Id suggest entering the mission area and then leaving immediatly instead of skipping. lower energy cost and the low tier loot areas dont require an objective be picked up
A chinese game is fine as some of them do produce good games. And they also have the same problem as non-chinese developers where they have a good concept but terrible execution.
Just be skeptical when that game has inapp purchases they are the worst especially the chinese ones.
Honestly this is just sad. Another game with great idea and terrible execution, first termiantor dark fate defiance and now this. And WHAT THE HELL is with this terrible CPU melting optimisation!? In all bloody modern games past few years the devs just said screw it and mash meshes together without any concerns for peoples PC melting.
For anyone looking for good survival/base defence game try 7 days to die, way more fun to play, has fully destructible world, does not melt your PC and has tons of mods.
To each their own I guess. After the initial issues, and with the recent patches on steam, the game is fantastic. They buffed all the slog that people said wasn't good, added full coop progression, and fixed every crashing issue I had already in just the span of two days. And the gameplay is exactly what I wanted, with looting, progression, amazing itemization, different character builds you can have, so on.
The graphical artifacting from FSR 1 / XESS / TSR is a bit of a downside, but I do get 60 fps generally with a 980ti and that's honestly more than I could hope for with many modern games. Only human models have real noticeable artifacting, and you will rarely see this outside of story content. The bad voice acting and strange character models are not the focus of the game.
I would never recommend 7 days to die over this, that game is so old and shitty it will never get out of the hole it is in. Played it enough to never touch that again and wouldn't recommend it as a tower defense game at all.
Get the engineer helmet when you can, it lets you supercharge turrets with ammo so you can have over 1000. And theres an autoloader too but i can't get the parts for it.
I'm having problems with supersampling, I can't get the DLSS to show up although i have 3070TI, manually editing GameUserSettings.ini does not help, or maybe I have wrong command for it, can anyone advise? or at least those who have DLSS running can tell me what's supposed to be on line: SuperSamplingType in the GameUserSettings.ini ?
this game has been uploading "update only" for the past few weeks, bro @_@... but with updates where the dev updates almost all the files, we will re-upload the whole game.
For example, the original game is ~35GB, if "update only" is around 25GB, do you want to download that?
oh shit, my bad, hard drive ran out of space while compressing the file, I forgot to pay attention to that, so it got corrupted due to missing part 8....
I just re-uploaded the whole game, you need to re-download from the beginning (not just part8, because it won't be compatible with the one you downloaded before).
I'm really sorry guys for wasting your time and bandwidth
The gameplay loop is decent but its just missing a few more qol features. It might also need alot of balancing with buffing the strategy mode since the placable turrets are weaker than a well designed base.
If I didn't have a decent computer that can run dlss, I might have just skipped this.
Watched some videos on YouTube and my GOD that graphical ghosting is all over the place. If you don't know how to get FSR or DLSS or even TAA working properly in your game just DITCH IT, FFS.
I don't care if it's using FSR100, I've played countless games that use only TAA and I can't even spot any image ghosting in those games, so why is it THIS bad in this game? This developer clearly has skill issue.
This is an issue with FSR though that is literally fixed in FSR2, not sure why you are making things up about "FSR100" to dismiss my point. It matters that the dev didn't use it, of course. That being said, the ghosting matters very little outside of looking at human characters moving, which is less than 1% of the game here. You pass the tutorial and it will essentially never really matter again.
I was not dissmissing your point whatsoever, I was just saying FSR is and will forever be utterly USELESS; I literally don't use DLSS, DLAA or FSR in any game I play even if they got those well-implemented - I just don't care.
We've never had issues like graphics ghosting or screen edge reflection cut-off before Nvidia or AMD invented their big-brain "NEW TECHNOLOGIES" that literally broke 90% of nice VFX used in games and honestly? I'd rather have a cubemap reflections on those turrets instead of trying to make them act like mirrors. But that's just my well off-topic rant about modern graphical BS. You can ignore this part no biggies.
Nah that's all valid, there's just the constant battle of games pushing graphics to extremes and being totally unoptimized for anything less than top of the line hardware. In my case, I certainly need FSR (2 would be nice) to get 60 fps on an aging 980ti lol. But if you have the hardware, there is no excuse for those graphical errors. Though, if you set the supersampling to "Local" it should be the same as it being off entirely. Not sure if you get the ghosting anymore if you don't use any of the supersampling was my point.
Edit: I'm honestly not sure what the hell they did that made the graphical errors so bad here tbh, it's incomparable to pretty much anything else. I still really enjoyed the game and bought it, but its sure not nice to look at if that really matters to you.
Oh yeah, now that you've mentioned it... older hardware will surely have its benefit using those features. But if I were you, I'd steer off from the game completely no matter how much I like "the concept" of it.
Still, like you said, it boggles us how they managed to implement it so badly. And to be honest, all I have done to this game is watching some YouTube videos like I stated before, and I didn't even know this game uses old FSR. People uploaded those videos definitely didn't know how to set up their graphics. Maybe I'll give it a shot myself, see if turning off supersampling makes a difference.
I like this game, it ran at 4 fps for the first minute because amd fsr is shit, i have an amd card and somehow it works against it. Intel Xess seems the best to not get performance issues. With a 4 core 9600k w/a 7800xt i have no problems even on high/ultra on 2k, i can play videos or streams on my second monitor even though the cpu is at 100% i see no performance degradation. The voice acting and animations are lacking but i like the gamplay, even though this game takes a lot of time to play. The game has been recieving tweaks from launch almost daily and i can see the reviews turning around if it keeps getting worked on and doesn't just die out.
